On behalf of the Celina ISD Board of Trustees, our staff, and myself, I want to welcome everyone back to school for the 2018–2019 school year. I especially want to extend a warm Bobcat welcome to those that will be joining our family this year. All of you have chosen to live in a community where faith, family, and relationships are valued. Celina ISD is “Home to the Bobcats,” which carries much tradition and pride throughout our community. Our teachers and staff members empower and inspire our students by providing an educational atmosphere where innovation and excellence thrive. We expect our students to lead, be self disciplined, honest, and connected through school and community events. We also welcome all parents to partner with our district by taking an active role as their child’s advocate through creating an open, respectful, and trusting relationship with their teachers and campus administrators. My administrative team have been in preparation for the start of another great school year. With the influx of new families calling Celina home, we created this magazine to provide important information that will help you as you prepare your children for the upcoming school year. Looking over the Table of Contents, you will find a wide array of topics/ information from campus grade level supply lists to after-school programs offered through the district. Also included is information pertaining to the 2018– 2019 CISD Registration Fair, open to all Celina ISD students. Please take a moment to review the residency and registration requirements that must be met prior to enrollment. Celina ISD is poised for an explosion of growth, bringing change and challenges that will have an impact on our district for years to come. Whatever challenges we may face, our focus is and will always be on the needs of our students and faculty. Through relationships built on transparency and open communication, we enthusiastically look forward to strengthening partnerships with our parents, businesses, and our community. As we make our final preparations for the upcoming school year, I wish much success to all of our students. Celina ISD is committed to “Paving The Way For The Future,” creating leaders for today and generations to come! GO BOBCATS! Rick DeMasters Superintendent of Schools Celina ISD

Frequently Asked Questions If you are checking out our “Frequently Asked Questions” section, you just might be considering a move to our area. Moving your family to a new city and/or district can be chaotic, but Celina ISD takes great pride in our commitment to providing as much information as possible to anyone considering enrollment at our campuses. Provided below are some questions to get you started. What is Celina ISD’s current transfer policy? Celina ISD is considered a fast growth district, witnessed by the new subdivisions and businesses that are opening in the surrounding areas. Due to the forecast of growth projected over the next 10 years, Celina ISD can no longer accept transfers. Is it true that my home address is listed in Celina, TX, but my children would be attending a neighboring school district? Yes, there are subdivisions that list a Celina address, but are zoned for Prosper ISD. (Example: Light Farms, Mustang Lakes, etc.) The district boundary lines were drawn years ago when the areas was more rural and do not always follow the city boundary lines. When touring subdivision in the area, we recommend that you check with the builders as to what district will service the families that move into their subdivision. You can also speak with any of our campus personnel to verify addresses within our boundaries. Can I choose what elementary campus my child will attend? The Celina School District, in conjunction with Templeton Demographics, completed an extensive study in order to create the attendance boundary lines for our elementary campuses. The study evenly distributed students attending our elementary schools and has also allowed for growth to occur on each campus without fear of overcrowding conditions. Attendance maps can be found on our website at ww.celinaisd.com
What documents are needed for “Proof of Residency” requirements? Celina ISD will no longer accept transfers. You must physically live within the boundaries of the Celina School District prior to the start of the 2018–2019 school year. Proof of Residency is based upon the location of your primary residence Utility Bill - a current, (less than 1 month old) water &/or electric bill that lists your address within the boundaries of the Celina School District and includes the parent &/ or legal guardian’s name(s). Gas, Television.phone bills will not be accepted. Lease/Rental Agreement - Apartment &/or House that lists your address within the boundaries of the Celina School District and includes the parent/legal guardian’s name(s). Must include the start and end date of the lease Does the District hold a Registration Fair? and name of landlord. What does my child wear for athletics? Students that are enrolled in Pre-Athletics (6th Grade) and Athletics for grades 7-12 are expected to wear athletic-type clothing in the colors of gray, white and orange only. Crew socks and athletic footwear is also required. For more information, please contact the CISD Fieldhouse at 469-742-9120 &/or email athletics@celinaisd.com .
Yes, the CISD Registration Fair is held during the first week of August at Celina High School. The registration fair is open to all students prekindergarten through 12th grade. Students must be accompanied by their parents to enroll. New and present students/parents will be able to meet with representatives from food services, nursing, transportation, district organizations and specific campus personnel, See page 7 for more information.

[Students arriving at school before 7:30 AM will not be able to enter the building. To ensure student safety, we cannot allow students on campus unsupervised before teacher start times.] Dear Celina Jr. High School Families and Students, Let me be the first to welcome you to a fantastic school year for your child! I am honored to be the principal of Celina Jr. High School. The excitement for education is throughout the school, and I am thrilled to get the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful environment. Every day is a great day to be a part of CISD and the CJH family! I am committed to serving our students and community in a cooperative and supporting way. Having had middle school and high school children myself, I know how important it can be to track your child’s progress. Parents will be able to access their child’s grades through Parent Portal. Once school starts, schedule changes are complicated. Changes will only be made when essential for student academic success. We will be looking for a community member and a business representative for our Campus Advisory Team. Please contact me via email for more details or if you are interested in joining our team or know someone who might be. We appreciate and value your partnership, so please do not hesitate to contact me with any suggestions, concerns, or questions. Thank you for your trust and support in helping us attain our vision to inspire and equip students to be lifelong learners and active contributors to the world.
