What is the name of your business? Bobcat Dental Do you have a physical location? If so, where can we find you? 1060 S. Preston Road, #110, Celina, TX 75009 (Brookshire's Center) What are your business hours? Monday to Wednesday 7am to 2pm, Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 2pm. Weekend appointments available once per month. What is your business mission statement or vision? Our mission is to provide the healthiest and most beautiful smile to our dental families. How long have you been in business? 5 years as Bobcat Dental What motivated you to start your own business? There were a few scenes I remember. It is the most important reason to provide my own dentistry. It was hard to do as an employee. Describe the services and/or products you offer: We offer most dental work for whole families from young to old, including preventative care, filling, root canal therapy, extraction, esthetic dentistry, BOTOX, implants, teeth whitening, crowns, and preventive care. What makes your business stand out amongst other similar businesses? We are in-network with most PPO dental plans and it makes us affordable. Meantime, we use top-quality supplies and keep our facility up-to-date including 3D intro-oral scanner or the most current sterilization system. Affordable dental care does not mean cheap. We provide many cutting edge technology including the fully computer-guided implant. What are your customers saying about you? What keeps them coming back? You can easily find reviews from our patients online. Most I heard from them is "they listen and concern" and "great team." Also, our always staying friendly staff members are nonresectable. They are all local and served this area for a long time. We have no staff turn-over. If you know any Bobcat dental customers, please ask them. Have you won any awards or special recognition for your work? Bobcat Dental won the best dentist award from readers magazine. Personally, I won some research awards and picked was as the most honest student when I was in dental school. Do you have a website or social media page you'd like to share? Celina FFA 2020-2021 OFFICERS Our 2020-21 president, senior Kayla Lawson, is serving her second year as an officer and has been in FFA for three years. Kayla is a member of the team showing the new 24-foot entry gate for the ag shop, participated on the Knowledge Quiz Team, and she also participates in CHS theater. Vice President, Hunter DeArkos, a junior, has been in FFA for 3 years. He also is excited about his projects in agriculture mechanics, and is especially proud of his family smoker that he will be exhibiting at county fair and open shows this year. Hunter is also active in his family’s ranch where he works with his cattle and wildlife in the area. Sophomore, VieVie Blanchard is the chapter secretary this year, and in her second year of FFA. She was on the Knowledge Quiz team this year, and is looking forward to participating in Horse Judging. VieVie is also active with the Texas High School Rodeo Association in barrel racing, and was the Texas Jr. High Rodeo Queen in 2019. Our treasurer this year is sophomore, Michael Kraemer, who also has been in FFA for two years. Another agriculture mechanics student, we are looking forward to having him on our Livestock Judging team as his family raises horses, donkeys, and cattle. Junior, Tanner Petway, holds the position of Reporter and this is his second year in FFA. He is most enthusiastic about his agriculture mechanics projects because this will be his first year entering in both the county fair and open shows. When he’s not in the ag shop, Tanner is at home restoring his 1984 GMC pickup. Greyson Blanchard rounds out the 2020-21 officer team as the sentinel. Greyson is a junior and a serious varsity athlete at CHS participating in football, track and powerlifting. He also was a member of our Knowledge Quiz team and we look forward to having him on other teams in the coming spring. While covid restrictions have depleted chapter enrollment and activities (as many students are entirely virtual) both advisors, Mr. Schares and Ms. Riback, are impressed by students stepping up and participating virtually in LDEs and look forward to even more member participation in CDEs as well as county fair, San Antonio, Houston, and other spring FFA contests. For more information about Celina FFA, please contact the advisors at Celina High School.

Celina Independent School District

SCHOOL ZONE

From The Desk of Dr. Tom Maglisceau Dear Bobcats, As we welcome our students back to school in this new year of 2021, it’s hard to believe that we are just months away from marking a full year of work under very new circumstances. This past year has completely altered the landscape for so much of what we all consider to be most important--especially our interactions with one another. As I reflect on this past year, I am proud of how our schools have partnered with our community to bring as much normalcy to our kids’ lives as possible. Few districts across the state opened their doors on time in August with face-to-face learning, and fewer still did so with such a large percentage of students opting to learn in-person like Celina ISD (74%). Our teachers and staff committed to providing strong virtual and in-person instruction while also taking extra precautionary measures to keep our kids and colleagues safe. Additionally, our coaches and fine arts staff have been remarkable at providing opportunities for our kids to safely participate in activities and experiences that are vital to the overall learning of our students. For the first time in Celina ISD’s history, our enrollment surpassed 3,000 students, and by the time of this article’s publication, we will have broken ground on a brand-new 6-8 grade middle school that will open in the fall of 2022. Our district’s most recent demographic report suggests that Celina ISD has the potential to add 3,000 more students over the next four years, and we anticipate opening one new elementary school in both 2023 and 2024. Looking further into the future, our demographic report also notes that CISD will likely approach 12,000 students during the 2030-2031 school year. We are on the cusp of exponential growth in our community! Celina was recently ranked first in The Dallas Business Journal as the fastest growing city in the North Texas area, and our district is proactively planning for new campuses, district-wide improvements, and land purchases that will prepare the district for the challenges that will come with this growth. Celina ISD and the City of Celina have a long history of addressing any challenge by seeing not the problem before us, but seeing instead the opportunity. We are excited about these opportunities, as we actively shape our district culture to enhance the truly unique facets of our community while welcoming new Bobcats to our district. What has always been a strength for Celina ISD is the greatest calling in our district/city partnership: true connection is about taking care of one another. Part of Celina ISD’s commitment to our community is financial prudence as we continue to grow. The Celina ISD Board of Trustees approved a 2020-2021 district tax rate of $1.4832, which is the lowest school district tax rate in over 20 years. As districts across the state prepare for this next legislative session, school funding will continue to be a great challenge. This challenge is even greater for smaller school districts, particularly fast-growth districts like Celina ISD. We are excited for the challenges ahead, and we are thrilled to welcome a new year that brings new opportunities to serve our families as we continue to serve our kids. Sincerely, Tom Maglisceau Superintendent, Celina ISD 12

Celina Independent School District

SCHOOL ZONE CISD School Board January is School Board Recognition Month. Our school board members are volunteers who shoulder critical responsibilities and often make difficult choices for our district, all without pay. Their goal is always focused on the future success of the children in our district. Serving as a link between the community and classroom, school board members are elected to establish the policies that provide the framework for public schools. This month we celebrate our school board members and all that they do for us.
