PRESENTS

WEEK 1 THE LONDON HOUSE FUK-IT

// Intro. The plan was simple. Get the FIT guys over from the US for an English shop tour, and spend a week in London beforehand with our UK crew in the mix, to make the most of their visit. Luckily the weather played ball and with no general direction, we set out from our three story town house in Camden after a late lunch each day, in search of some raw London street. Weaving through traffic and making more than a nuisance of ourselves for the ever-present black cab drivers. A sick crew that were just down to roll and have a good time. One week later the 9 day back to back shop stops began. A long wheel based Mercedes sprinter decked out with TV’s, a Playstation and cinema setup ,was our vessel of choice, this was going to be a comfy trip up and down the country. Garry, our assigned driver who let us use

the bus as we pleased was probably the highlight for everyone, getting us to and from each stop/hotel/pub with story after story on the long drives across the UK. It was crazy to see how packed each shop stop was. Our arrival was always greeted with a wall of phones pointed at our bus by a healthy mix of shop locals and kids who were online fans of select riders; many of whom were previously unaware that there was even a BMX store in their hometown. Everyone was stoked to hang out and ride with the crew - the way a meet and greet should really be. Each of the shops each held it down and put on a big welcome for us, and the response was seriously overwhelming. It really showed that the UK BMX scene is certainly alive and kicking. Over the following pages you can enjoy the photos of how it all went down and the conversations we had with the shop owners along the way. Until next time. VOLT LONDON

// John Dye. “The FIT shop tour stopped off in London at our store to politely raise hell and have a good time with fellow riders and thats exactly what happened, anyone who knows our shop knows the vibe with that in mind, these guys showed up like Motley Crue on a summer tour! Motorbike rides, high-fives and bottles of JD, yet they even managed to make a positive impression on our neighbours, the Salvation Army! SHOP STOP 1 VOLT BMX

// Scott Summerhayes. “We appreciate having such a killer bunch of professional riders visit the shop and get involved with our local scene as it brings everyone together. The FIT guys were keen to get involved from the beginning; helping us to organise the High Hop, Long Jump and Best Trick competitions and signing/taking photos with riders like it was nothing. Ethan Corriere rocked the mic! Highlight of the jam that sticks in my mind is Ethan and Brandon Begin encouraging Tom Williams to sending himself out of our quarter pipe to double tyre stall an old sketchy gas pipe. The pipe wobbled and looked like it was going to fall down! On the first attempt he got caught and fell straight to the floor, coming down HARD. The next attempt he nailed it perfectly and the crowd of over 150 BMXers went absolutely mental!”

// Matt Nicklen. “Knowing that the FIT team was coming to Prevail meant there were just a couple of expectations... and they did not disappoint! The Skatepark got smashed and riders got mashed, and It was one HUGE party on bikes. Like a house party that had been trashed, it was everything we know and love about BMX! Thank you Fit Bike Co.

// Tim Ruck. “We were so amped to be included on the FIT UK shop tour and could never have anticipated such a wild turn out. The shop was crammed with loads outside too! All the riders on the tour took plenty of time to chat, shoot pics and be with the fans which was very much appreciated. Everyone piled down to Flowerpot Skatepark - a 3 minute ride from shop - for the session after. What could be better for the locals to than ride alongside all the guys they look up to; lifetime memories right there. Thank you 4Down and FIT for keeping the stoke high; and here’s to many more. Cheers!”

SHOP STOP 5 DEAD SAILOR BMX

DEAD SAILOR TRURO

// Pete Wallwork. “The FIT shop tour coming to Dead Sailor was such an awesome experience. Cornwall is in the arse end of nowhere so we rarely get visits, which made having the crew in the shop even more special. The locals were beyond stoked and the shop was packed out with kids grabbing selfies and signatures. Once some cider and doughnuts were consumed we rolled down the road to the local park where the team proceeded to kill it. I overheard one of the locals say “I’ve never seen the park so full of BMX, this is awesome”. Says it all! Massive thanks to FIT and 4Down for including us in the tour. Good times!” SHOP STOP 5 DEAD SAILOR BMX

// Al Munger. “The first thought I had on the day of the shop stop was “oh fuck it’s raining.” Half an hour later at 10am we have kids turning up from Wales, Stafford, Leeds and all over the place. Then 5 hours later the guys show up on time and my old mate Dang Dang runs down the street with a big ole hug, having not seen him since he was here in 09! So a change of plan due to weather and the guys go and eat at the local pizzeria Klay where Pugwash works and then off down to our new local indoor “unit 1” for what went down as one hell of a session. The guys loved the park (and the animals at the Park, especially Austin who was missing his pooch in NY) and they killed it. The locals loved the FIT guys and everyone got stoked as fuck, even me. Apparently things got really loose at the hotel after the session too. It was great to hear the FIT guys saying it was a great stop and a great park and they all had a rad time. WE LOVE BMX.”

// Alan Woods. “It was amazing! And a huge vote of confidence for the BMX scene in the UK. When the guys came into the shop it was like Lebron and Co walking onto the court in the NBA playoffs. Mad. It was great to catch up with Ian Morris too and see that we all have similar ideas about where to go to help promote BMX going forward. All the links in the chain need to all work together for everyone to stay around in the sport we love from the brands to the distros to the shops to the riders, right down to the customer at retail level that keeps us all in business. We also need to connect better with the next generation, and getting the teams out on the ground doing this, shows there is more to it than just vlogging. So good to see everyone stoked on BMX! Thanks for doing it and having us involved!” SHOP STOP 7 ALANS BMX

// Jack Waller. “The FIT crew were awesome. They made all the kids days by turning up and being so friendly with the everyone. The locals and riders who travelled from a far were stoked! Some of the younger kids were actually star-struck and just sat watching the guys meet and greet with everyone. I mostly enjoyed catching up with all the riders visiting the shop for the FIT stop. Some I’ve known for a while and others I met on the day, which was awesome - love a fresh face! It was amazing seeing all the riders come together all with big smiles. One of the younger riders came up to me expressing his thanks. He’d been so excited up to the visit and still couldn’t believe Begin, Dugan, Ethan, Augie and Tariq were actually there in person.”

// Rich & Marc Moore. “Having the FIT team come to the SOURCE PARK was a treat and we were stoked to see riders come down from the surrounding scenes to session with them. Most of the team had not been before so it was rad to see them look at things with fresh eyes and its always amazing to see Dugan blast in the main bowl despite having a bad back (!).Thanks to the FIT 4Down crew for making it happen and we look forward to having them all back for this years Battle Of Hastings!
