Vegan Tuck Box Review

Page 1

I found out about Vegan Tuck Box on Twitter. It’s a company based in the UK that offers a monthly subscription to have vegan snacks delivered right to your door! According to their website: “Each and every month, the team at Vegan Tuck Box scour the planet for the most exciting, unique and tasty vegan snacks and create fun and interesting snack boxes for you to order online. The contents of the Variety and Ultimate subscription boxes changes each month so that you can try different products.” They even donate part of the proceeds to vegan outreach and animal sanctuaries!

I received a Vegan Variety Tuck Box which included five vegan snacks. The box included candies, crackers, dessert and chip-like snacks. Savory, salty, creamy, and sugary- a perfect variety of snacks.

Yushoi Snapea Rice Sticks, Soy & Balsamic Vinegar Flavor I love chips, I love pretzels, I love popcorn‌ I kind of loved the Yushoi snapea rice sticks. Soy and Balsamic vinegar flavored sticks came in my box. The balsamic was a little too bitter for my taste, but they would make a great substitute for salt & vinegar chips. I do think regular chips are vegan too, but if you’re looking for something a little more nutritious, you should give these a try. They are higher in fiber and are a decent source of protein. I gave some to my teenage step-kids and they loved them, so they would make a great snack option.

Vegolino Fine Nougat Pralines I have tried all types of vegan chocolate and none of them seem to satisfy my need for chocolate. Pure dark chocolate is bitter and some brands try to add sea salt or berries, but they never measured up to some of my favorite non–vegan chocolates‌..Until now! The Vegolino pralines were so good! They melted in the mouth like regular praline chocolates and did not have the bitter aftertaste of pure cocoa chocolate bars. I do not know if they come in other flavors, but if they do SIGN ME UP! I would highly recommend these to vegans and non-vegans alike!

2Fer Candy Bar This candy bar was touted as a vegan replacement for a Twix bar. While I found this idea admirable, I did not entirely agree. This bar just was not as sweet or crunchy as a Twix bar. The caramel was not as deliciously gooey. I did enjoy this candy bar and recommend that vegan candy lovers eat it. Just do not try to compare it to a Twix bar. Enjoy the sweet chocolate, the airy “cookie filling and the fact that you are not harming any animals in order to have a snack!

Go Vegan! Vegan Wheat Croissant This snack was the last thing I ate out of the box. To be honest I dreaded eating it. Something about a croissant preserved in plastic and mailed across the ocean just did not sit right with me. I felt it through the packaging and it did not feel light and airy like a croissant should. Since I wanted to do a review of it, I sucked it up and decided to try it. And ‌.yuck! It was dense, weirdly sweet and did not look, smell or even feel like a croissant. It was more reminiscent of panettone than any kind of croissant I ever had. To top it off, it was crazy fattening with 20 grams of fat! I do not recommend this one.

Great Food Affairs Bruschetta This was my FAVORITE part of the TuckBox! So much so, that I did not give the kids any to sample until I was down to the crumbs….Am I wrong for that? “Bruschetta delicately toasted, delicious and light snack breads with garlic and parsley.” What a perfect description! They would be great with chopped tomatoes on top or used crushed or chopped into smaller pieces and used as croutons. They could be dropped into tomato or onion soup, or just eaten right out the bag. They might not be the healthiest snack, but boy, are they good!

Like a kid during the holidays, I anticipated my TuckBox arriving in the mail. Though, I did not enjoy every snack, overall it was an exciting and delicious experience. As a vegan, I often feel that my choices are repetitive and blah. The TuckBox was a delicious change from my everyday choices! About Vegan TuckBox: •
