Conover Motorized & Hiking Trails

CONOVER - Conover is the center of the Landover ATV/UTV Club 250+ mile network of routes and trails. This network of routes and trails travel through 7 communities in eastern Vilas County. The network of trails includes 30 plus miles of Wisconsin DNR funded trails over a variety of terrain that travel through beautiful forests and pass scenic lakes and rivers. Trails open in May (date determined by weather and ground conditions) thru October 31st. The remaining trails include both paved and dirt roads that are open year-round and will get you to most businesses and sponsors as well as lakes for ice fishing. For further information please contact the Landover ATV/UTV Club at 715-891-1205 or landoveratv@ outlook.com and Facebook.
The Tamaracks Off Highway Motorcycle (OHM) Single Track Trail System main trailhead is located at 5019 Tamarack Road in Conover, Wisconsin. This trail system offers three different riding challenges. The Green Loop offers the beginner 8.5 miles of family friendly riding. The Blue Loop steps it up to an intermediate riding experience of 6.5 miles. The Black Loop offers the not so faint of heart 7.2 miles of tight, slow, and very challenging riding. Bark Busters are recommended!
To ride this two-way single-track trail system all that is needed is a Wisconsin DNR OHM Trail Permit. This permit can be purchased at your local DNR office or online at https://gowild.wi.gov/. This trail system is open strictly for both limited use and plated motorcycles from early May to October 31st. The main trailhead now has a loading ramp, open air pavilion, vaulted toilet, and expanded parking area for cars, trucks, and trailers. The Tamarack Springs Campground is located adjacent to the trailhead and reservations for this primitive campground can be made online.
For further trail information download Vilas County’s Map It App or find the Landover Dual Sporters Club information on Facebook.
