Thanks to the dedication of the Phelps Snowmobile Club we are pretty sure you won’t find better groomed trails than in Phelps, but if you can’t get enough you can easily connect to the 600 miles of trails in Vilas county and 3,000+ miles in Upper Michigan for even more sledding adventures.

In the Woods! Answer the call of the forest... Did you know that nearly 75% of Phelps is national or state forest land? That’s a lot of woods to explore! Phelps boasts of 30 acres of land per resident, which means that when you are in the woods, you can find true peace and quiet. What a perfect setting for your Phelps adventure! In the spring months, the sunshine and warmer temperatures draw out the wildlife and wildflowers. The forest floors are covered in trilliums, forget-me-nots, and many other local flower species. If you tread lightly, you may even spot a fawn through the trees. Spring is a great time for bird-watching, as well. The mild temps of Northwoods summers are ideal for exploring the Nicolet National Forest and geocaching is an excellent way to get the whole family involved.
