This office provides dignified & compassionate assistance to survivors of deceased active duty and retired Air Force members.

Initial & Pre-Separation Counseling
Mondays, May 2 & 23 | June 6 & 27 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Are you separating or retiring from military service? Fulfill your Initial Counseling and Pre-separation briefing requirement at this mandatory briefing preferably 18 months before separating and 24 months prior to retiring, but mandated NLT 365 days before leaving the service.
LA AFB INTRO Program
Tuesday, May 3 | June 7 8 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Newcomers are briefed on some of the most important aspects that they will need for getting settled into Los Angeles AFB. Informational briefings from the A&FRC, Security Forces, the EFMP Coordinator and so many more will be provided. All spouses are welcome to attend. The link to the virtual WebEx platform will be provided in the LA Garrison base announcements email.
Transition Workshop
May 9-11 | June 13-15 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Bldg. 272, Room 201-202 The three day format covers a broad range of topics from financial planning to job search to a VA benefits briefing. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend. This workshop is mandatory for all separating members, highly recommended for retiring military members. DOL Employment Track (2 days)
May 16-17 | June 8-9 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Bldg. 272, Room 201-202 This new workshop is part of the Transition Program. It is a monthly workshop where Transitioning Service Members, Spouses, Retirees and Veterans can build a resume for a civilian or a federal job and learn interview techniques, salary negotiations and labor market information.
Managing Your Move
Thursday, May 19 | June 16 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Get good advice on planning your next PCS from the clinic, traffic management and finance. Thursday, May 19 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Learn budgetary basics, saving tips, and how to survive in this high cost area. This is a mandatory class for all O1 & O2 who are new to Los Angeles AFB. All military and civilians may attend.
DoD Education Track (2 days)
May 18-19 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Transitioning Service Members, Spouses, Retirees and Veterans can learn about education resources available. This is a quarterly workshop part of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP).
Boots to Business
June 22-23 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Bldg. 272, Room 201-202 The small business administration delivers a 2 day seminar focusing on creating your business plan.
June 15 | 12:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Must pre-register. For pregnant military members or civilians and their spouses. AFAS provides a “bundle” of information to each active duty family and a special gift to AF, USN, USMC and USCG active members.
EFMP Family Support plays a critical role in helping families with special needs with the Identification & Enrollment and Assignment Coordination processes.

CalVets conducts this workshop to acquaint veterans and separates with CA benefits, like education, employment and health care. Morning is briefings; afternoon is set up for 1 on 1 appointments.
Helps families navigate, advocate and connect through: • Information, referrals and non-clinical case management at installations • Virtual self-service support through the EFMP & Me tool, information and resources and specialty consultations
Medical and military personnel departments work with service members and families to: • Coordinate assignments while ensuring that special medical and educational needs of family members are considered
Undergraduate for the same category will be $250 for both classroom and online classes.
