TED-Ed is an non-profit organization, who focuses on spreading the ideas to public, especially the students and children. They carefully create the content via videos and collaborate with schools for lessons. How to express TED-Ed’s philosophy - “Lessons worth sharing” into their workplace is the challenge of this project. The main concept is “spark of creativity”. “Spark” not only shapes the workplace’s layout, but also increases the interactions between colleagues. The center is a semi-close event space, and outburst the corridors to connect with offices, meeting rooms, lounge seating area, library and cafe dining area. By separating the offices at two sides of the core and installing niche seating spaces aside to the corridors, people frequently bump each other and share ideas. The ideas of the lessons come from the interaction moments.

T H Y CONCEPT STORE Program / Retail Location / New York, NY Area / 5000 sqft. Status / Idea, May 2017 Designer / Yi-En Lee at New York School of Interior Design
Concept / THY branding store is collaborated with a Parsons fashion design student and designed the first physical store of her own brand. The concept is to express the modern women’s tough but feminine personality by using contrasting materials. The brick wall represents the tough outside while the white fabric and pink carpet at the center represent the feminine inside. The brass material also enhances the level of delicacy. There is a large fitting area at the center, divided by the floorto-ceiling white curtains, which creates a private AXONOMETRICS
space for customers to try on products without too much disturbing.

Jacob residence livin g room / A r t D eco St y le + G u st av Klim t / Client / Jay and Daisy Jacobs are optical engineers. Jay is forty-five years old, and Daisy Jacobs is forty-three. They want to completely redesign their living room in a traditional style. Housed in a luxury, old-world building in New York. The setting should reflect their collection of artwork, Gustav Klimt paintings. They are affectionate couple. They both work until early evening, arriving home about 7pm and are out of the house in the morning by 8am. After the work day, they look forward to turning on some Jazz, filling a couple glass of wine, sitting close, reading books and discuss the content of book together.
This interaction creates sparkling and bauilds very tight relationship between each other.
Concept / “The room is divided into two parts to reflect their two senses. The east part represents “sensibility” by curvy, circular and streamline language. While the opposite part indicates “rationality” by linear, square and hard-line language.“

Theory / Simultaneous Contrast : The appearance of color depends on the color that surroundings it. (one color looks like seven) In the figure, all seven small rectangles are the same Munsell color, yet they appear as different colors because of their surrounding color.
