Ideation My goal is to provide better quality during a phone call and a good talking experience in different situations. I put my focus on how to make the cellphone speaker better.

Over time, smartphones have become an indispensable part of people’s lives. There are more functional mobile phone accessories came out nowadays. I designed S-Talk as a device to provide people a private-call function.

Brain Storming Brainstorming gives me a bunch of ideas on what should I design. After thinking about it for a long time, I decided to create a device that could reduce the noise and improve the quality of making phone calls.
Final Direction I received some suggestions from IDEO’s designers. I noticed that it is inconvenient if people have to hold the device. Moreover, it will be similar to some headphones selling on the market if it can be hanged on the neck. So I decided to make it mask-type.

This means quiet places, and it is also a place we can’t usually call. I chose to design a device for talking in these quiet places.

This represents a noisy environment in which the content of the call is heard by many people, and my design also needs to make the call private.

Refinement To make the product look thinner and gentle, I used a curved shape which was inspired by sharks.
My model contains a lot of mechanical mechanisms, such as pop-up masks, which is required to cut and polish accurately when making the model.

After investigating Mcdavid’s products, I found that their products are similar to the traditional tibial pressure strips, which are hard to adjust their tightness. So I have improved my product.

Research The first step in the research is to buy one of their products on the official website.
First of all, I did a test on McDavid’s official website, and the results showed that their formal website design is very consistent with the mood of their products. What need to be improved is the position of the page flip key and the shopping cart
Orginal The traditional way to ware it is to wrap the legs through the straps and finally fix them with a Velcro. Durability of the product is poor, and it is more complicated to rewear when adjusting the tightness.

Hypothesis The buckle structure allows the user to wear and adjust tightness faster .
Prototype This is the prototype to help people increase the speed of wearing outfits.

The first test proves my guess. My product works nearly 1.2 times faster than the Mcdavid’s product. I found out that the product will speed up if it has a better grip from the test.
Prototype 2 After making the refinement, my second prototype came out. This time I turned the outer layer from soft to hard, it provided a better grip and reduced people’s wearing time.

Test During the second test, I found out that the test-takers’ wearing speed has increased by 1.5-2 times.

Final Render I determined the final product after testing the second prototype. Its advantage is making the wearing speed faster with a better adjustment. It is also suitable for different types of players.
Timer Brand Design
Brand Research MUJI is popular with its simple but particular style. They use elegant colors on their products which make the customers feel comfortable. Most of the materials used in MUJI products are recyclable, such as polypropylene, wood, etc. R:140 G:140 B:140
The purpose of this work is to conduct brand research and design products that match the selected brand. Learning is the ability to investigate and summarize. Finding the right price range and product positioning is also crucial.

“Affordance” Psychologist James Gibson coined “affordance” in 1977, referring to all action possibilities depending on users’ physical capabilities.

Nowadays, people sit for a long time when they are working. Sitting for a long time brings a series of illnesses. These people need to do more exercise to keep them in good health.
The user I chose is my roommate. I studied his habits and health problems. He really needed a product to improve his lifestyle.

Due to his major and hobbies, he spent more than ten hours a day sitting on the chair. Lacking exercise caused him to have lumbar muscle strain and shoulder pain.
Final Render I used Keyshot to render my final design. The handle is made of wood and white plastic, and the rope is wrapped with silica gel.
Model Making Inspiring by MUJI, I used the same concept when designed this handle. By testing different sizes of the handle, I can realize which size of the handle is suitable for most people’s hand.
Final After investigation and research, I set the timer to two hours. You can stop the alarm by skipping the rope for thirty times.This will relieve symptoms such as muscle soreness.

Bike 3d Design & Render Complex textures enhance grip.
My design was inspired by the gorilla, and I aimed to make the bike stable and durable. This work is entirely digital. I used SolidWorks to complete the construction of the work and then render it with Keyshot.

Hanger Cardboard design
Sun glare is a common cause of accidents in the United States. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that sun glare caused a few hundred accidents per year, domestically.
I draw the graphic on the computer and finish it with a laser cutting machine. It is essential to make the physical force points reasonable and evenly distributed the energy.

The interiors of each car are different. My goal is to find the typical structure of these interiors to achieve a broader penetration rate.
Problem Designing a device that allows the driver to get on and off quickly without a glasses case is a problem that I solve.

My final design can be placed in three different places in the car, which can meet most of the people’s test.
Round corners are better than those sharp corners which can bear more pressures. They are also hard enough so that it won’t be damaged.
The protruding structure allows you to get the sunglasses faster.

X-Game Redesign Projects
I disassembled a game controller before designing. This made me understand more about the internal structure of the game controller so that I can arrange my parts better when I designed the controller.
Problem Three different game consoles dominate the game market, namely Sony’s PlayStation, Microsoft’s Xbox and Nintendo’s switch. They all have different controllers, and the shape is curved. The problem is that it is not easy to carry, and you need to buy different kinds of controllers.

After completing the crosssection of the speed form, the draft angle of the model can be well controlled, and the mold can be started.
This work is aiming to reflect speed which needs an understanding of lines, lights, and shadows. I realized the importance of the process and details of the product for the first time.

This is my first work after getting into the industrial design major. I have learned many skills through this project. For instance, I learned how to use a band saw as well as how to get the shape I want by cutting through the top and side views on the block. Since the quality of wood is not good enough, I have to cut along the texture of the wood to get the best results. Time: 1 month Material : wood Process: band saw cut
Egg Drop Group work
The purpose of this work is to use a limited material for packaging the eggs so that the egg can resist the impact and prevent damage.

Cardboard, rubber bands, two pieces of cloth, a few straws, wooden sticks, a balloon that gives us all the materials we got.
We dropped the finished product from a height, and finally the egg was broken when it was dropped from the height of five foors.
Final After communicating with the team members, we finally decided to use the regular pentagon to protect the outer shell of the egg, and the center was connected with rubber bands. This will provide a cushion for the eggs.
