The making of the work required patience and felt ritualistic in the sense of having a certain amount of control over fire, an element which has its own danger. I was engulfed in wonder when it was alight and it also brought a sense of relief to watch it burn until it extinguished itself. It makes me think about the boundaries, rules, and laws that have been put in place due to the worldwide pandemic and wonder how social distancing or isolation may be effecting the people in the world.
