永續基金會主辦之「氣候變遷國中小繪畫創作比賽」迄今已逢第五屆，今年以「福爾摩沙狂想曲」為題，希望學生藉由比賽的 參與，去探索氣候變遷及環境保護的相關知識，並以繽紛多姿的色彩道出心中對於美麗寶島的愛與關懷。 本屆繪畫比賽有來自全國 22 縣市，692 所學校，計 2902 位學生報名參加，其中不乏離島偏鄉地區的參與，畫作水準之高，作 品間競爭十分激烈。在此感謝臺灣師範大學楊恩生教授，中華民國兒童美術教育協會吳隆榮理事長，輔仁大學康台生院長，臺灣大 學蔣本基特聘教授和臺灣科技大學顧洋講座教授擔任比賽評審，也感謝繪畫比賽所有合作單位的協助，使本活動更上層樓，學生亦 能從小培養愛護環境的責任感與能力。 TAISE has proudly hosted our "Climate Change Painting Competition" for five consecutive years now, and this year the theme of the event was "Formosa Rhapsody". We hope that student participants will learn knowledge about climate change and environmental protection through their participation. We also hope that their colorful palette will give rich expression to their love and concern for our beautiful island, Formosa, Taiwan. This year's competition received widespread participation from 22 counties and cities across Taiwan, with 692 schools and a total of 2902 students participating. Among the entries there were also many from remote areas and the offshore islands. The artistic quality of the entries is outstanding, and the competition for awards was fierce. We would like to once again express our profound appreciation to the judges for this year's competition, Prof. Anderson Yang, Chairman Lung-Jung Wu, Prof. president Tai-Sen Kang, Distinguished Prof. Pen-Chi Chiang and Chair professor Young Ku. TAISE is pleased to thank all the cooperating entities who helped make this year's competition such a success, advancing the quality of the entries, and helping all the student participants to develop a greater sense of responsibility and ability for caring for environmental protection.

受台灣永續能源研究基金會邀請擔任「氣候變遷繪畫比賽」評審長一職，除令我深感榮幸之外，亦肩負著傳遞環境教 育的重責大任。多年來，「透過藝術的環保」一直是我創作的主軸，並時刻地期許自己能以藝術家的棉薄之力，透過作品 將此理念傳遞給社會大眾。 在這次的評審過程中，有許多孩子的作品打動了我 ! 他們透過「福爾摩沙狂想曲」這個主題，發揮了無限的想像力， 用他們的創意，讓大家瞭解珍惜地球資源不僅是單一個人的責任，而是所有的地球人應關注與投入的議題。 因此，為使這樣的成果能迅速茁壯，希冀透過「種子教師營」來散播這樣的理念，使每個孩子都能成為守護家園、保 育環境的小小尖兵 ! I am very privileged to have been invited by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy to serve as a Judge for the Climate Change Painting Competition, as the position involves the important responsibility of spreading environmental education. For many years my creative efforts have focused on "environmental protection through the arts", so it is a special joy to use my skills as an artist to help promote these principles to the public through the students' outstanding paintings. During this year's judging, many of the students' entries moved me profoundly! They really outdid themselves with the theme of "Formosa Rhapsody", revealing their prodigious creativity and imagination. Their excellent works will help us realize that protecting the planet's resources is not only an individual responsibility, but an issue which the entire world needs to pay attention to and contribute to for success. So, I am very pleased to promote these outstanding results, and hope that the "Seed Teacher Workshops" will promote our principles, then every child can serve as a guardian of our homeland and do their best in the fight to preserve our environment!

評審 Judge Board 「婆娑之洋，美麗之島」，這是連橫臺灣通史序中對台灣的禮讚，同時也是長久以來無數接觸過寶島的人之心谷回音。 2013 年紀錄片「看見台灣」再度見證美麗鄉土，但也讓人深省珍惜環境，守護故鄉的渴望。長期關注環保資源的主辦單位， 將此心情轉化成為本屆繪畫創作比賽的主題方向，除結合學校教育永續經營的元素之外，更想藉本次活動因關懷鄉土所激 發出對氣候變遷的警覺，以彩筆繪出內心的感受，傳達出保衛鄉土的真情熱愛，返回人與自然共存共榮的和諧境界。 本屆參賽踴躍，共分二階段評選，計有國中、國小組共九十八件優秀作品獲選，除頒發獎金、獎狀、畫冊鼓勵外，並 於桃園國際機場及高雄小港機場展覽，相信每一幅展出的畫作都是一粒珍愛臺灣環境的種籽，在隨風飛揚中，落土發芽， 開花結果，蔚為美麗風景，成為世代永續美好的新力量，傳唱福爾摩沙動人的樂章 ! "Whirling seas, beautiful island", is a historic epithet to describe Taiwan which has long been known as "ilha Formosa", the beautiful island. That reflects the sentiment of all those who have come to know her over their lives or travels. In 2013 a documentary "Beyond Beauty-TAIWAN FROM ABOVE" recorded numerous vistas of the island, leaving viewers entranced with her resplendent natural beauty. The sites leave one wanting to protect our environment, and fill our hearts with a desire to save our homeland. The host of this competition has long been concerned with the issue of public environmental stewardship, and that is the sense which motivates the theme of this year's painting competition. Besides working in conjunction with the participating school's sustainable education efforts, the competition also seeks to synergize the strong desire of protecting our environment by enhancing our awareness of climate change, and using the participants' artistic talents to express their heartfelt desires, expressing the profound hope for protecting our land, while working to achieve harmony between man and nature for a sustainable prosperity.

從整体表現來說，今年得獎作品，在媒材多元、技法表現都令人印象深刻；但是在氣候變遷這個議題 的內涵的深刻度，則略感不足，顯示出國中小學這個階段的認知教育仍需加強，同時也凸顯本比賽在教 育推廣與向下紮根的重要意義。 In terms of their overall performance, this year's winning entries reflected a rich variety of artistic media and techniques which were very impressive. However the depth of the climate change topics considered implied that elementary and junior high school students environmental education could be enriched. The entries also exhibited the importance of this competition for educational outreach and to spread deep roots for environmental awareness!

現今社會大眾已逐漸瞭解氣候變遷對環境與自然資源之影響，除注重溫室氣體減量科技外，更強化對因應氣候變遷之「調 適」任務，應從「能源」、「水資源」及「土地資源」角度同時考量。本次繪畫競賽中，新世代孩子們充分展現具創意繪畫， 將溫室氣體減量及氣候變遷調適議題之內涵充分瞭解後，再轉換成「藝術作品」，實屬難得。 本次競賽優秀作品之經驗，應細水長流為知識播種，透過孩子們努力地實踐畫作，讓種子發芽光大，培育出更多優質氣 候變遷調適人才，協助國家因應未來「氣候變遷調適」工作。同時，基金會應將此作品成效擴散，提昇其附加價值與能見度， 以培訓更多優良教師與學生，讓國家未來主人翁對「綠色低碳」、「氣候變遷調適」、「能源與水資源」等環境議題更能有 所認知，激發出更具「整合式」與「創新式」之思維。 Contemporary society is learning to appreciate the impacts which global climate change have on the environment and natural resources. Besides the emphasis on high technology for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, we are also aware of the need to strengthen climate responsiveness through adjustment efforts, considering solutions from the perspectives of energy, water resources and land resources. During this year's competition, the new generation of children amply and ably displayed their creativity in painting. Their interpretations of the significance of greenhouse gas emission reductions and climate change adjustment issues in their paintings revealed just how precious their "artistic works" are for environmental education. TAISE is pleased to promote the students' works, and thus enhancing the value and visibility of their creativity. We will continue our pledge to train even more outstanding teachers and students, so that the future masters of the nation will understand more about the environmental issues of "green low-carbon" efforts, "climate change adjustment", and "energy and water resources". In this way we hope to stimulate the students' to a higher degree of holistic and innovative thinking about our environment.

台灣永續能源研究基金會已經連續第五屆舉辦全國性的國中小繪畫創作比賽，「2014 氣候變遷國中小繪畫創作比賽」 是的主題是【福爾摩沙狂想曲】，將台灣環境與全球氣候變遷議題緊緊連結。來自全國的參賽作品多樣炫麗且特色各具， 孩子們用繪畫述說臺灣的美麗及傷痛，並表達出落實在地行動的理念守護家園。。本次繪畫創作比賽的得獎作品將於桃園 國際機場及高雄小港機場展出，希望出入國門的國人及外賓能夠欣賞到這些作品的創意，並且體會其中表達的意涵。 This is the fifth nationwide painting competition hosted by TAISE for elementary and junior high school students. The theme for the 2014 Climate Change Painting Competition is Formosa Rhapsody, to link Taiwan environment with global climate change. Participants expressed their feelings on the beauty and suffering of Taiwan through their paintings. Awarded works will be exhibited at the Taoyuan and Kaohsiung International Airports so that visitors may have a chance to appreciate and enjoy these art works by Taiwanese students.

So we must practice water conservation and use less electricity. We should reuse waste water and ride on public transportation! If you and I work together for environmental protection, we can make the world a better place. 探險隊進入山林中的神祕洞穴，發現一幅千手觀音的壁畫，而觀 音的臉是由台灣不同族群的臉孔組成；每隻手上各有一隻眼睛， 象徵每個人必須用心關懷台灣，看見台灣的豐富之美，手上也持 著代表台灣人文風土及綠能環保的各種象徵物，呼籲每個人在生 活中，必須採取行動，守護福爾摩沙這片夢土的美好！ A team of adventurers enter into a mysterious cave amid the mountain forest, and discover a thousand hand Kuanyin cave painting, and her face is composed of the faces of each of Taiwan's different peoples; and on each hand is a pair of eyes, signifying that each person must use their heart to care for Taiwan, and look to see the beautiful riches of Taiwan, and the hands also carry a symbol of Taiwan's humanistic spirit and many signs representing green energy and environmental protection calling out to remind everyone during our lives that we must take practical steps to protect the beauty of our beloved island- Formosa!

氣候變遷使得地球暖化的情況愈來愈嚴重，極地冰原融化的速度 更是超過專家的預期，如果大家再不行動，認為事不關己，辛苦 創造出的文明與繁榮，終將被大自然反撲而沉入海中。 Climate change means that global warming has become more serious. As the glacial ice melts faster than even the experts thought, if we do not take action soon enough, thinking its not our problem, we might just find that our civilization and prosperity will be under attack from Mother Nature.

玻璃瓶內是溫室，內有許多大樓、建築面臨了重重災害。瓶子裂 開了，破了一個大洞。瓶中的水衝了出來淹沒一切，船隻四處飄 移；大水也造成土石崩落、樹木被沖倒，敏感的鳥類及其他動物， 趕在災難前紛紛遷徙。希望藉由畫中這一連串的災難景象來表現 氣候變遷所帶來的巨大影響。 Inside the glass bottle is a greenhouse, with many floors, but the building faces many disasters. The glass bottle shards, leaving a large hole. The water floods everything, and boats are set aloft in all directions; the floods cause landslides, while trees are washed away. The fragile birds and other life try to flee from the disaster. I hope the painting can connect the disaster images to express the major impacts which climate change brings.

人類過度開發的結果，造成地球暖化，氣候異常。世界各地淹水 及乾旱、嚴寒及酷熱不斷，使人類的生活越趨困難。台灣原是美 麗的福爾摩沙，但為促進經濟成長而忽略環境，造成自然反撲侵 害家園，各地災害頻傳。地球就像一個家，我們應該要重視環保， 台灣才能成為真正的福爾摩沙，讓地球與人類和平相處。 One of the results of man's overdevelopment is global warming and erratic climate. All over the planet flooding and drought, extreme frigid and high heart persist, making life difficult for people. Taiwan was originally a beautiful “Formosa＂, but during economic development, attention was not paid to environmental protection. This has resulted in nature fighting back, with many disasters across the land. The planet is like one family, and we must all work to protect the environment for Taiwan to be a beautiful island“ilha Formosa＂once again, allowing man and nature to co-exist peacefully!

台灣曾經有福爾摩沙的美稱，但近年來因為我們有意或無意的破 壞大自然，導致生長在這塊土地的特有生物逐漸稀少，甚至絕 種，所以我用作品重現福爾摩沙蓬勃的生物景象，希望喚醒大家 愛護這片土地，恢復她的美麗。 Taiwan used to be known by the epithet, ilha Formosa, the beautiful island. But in recent years our lack of awareness or negligence has damaged nature causing losses to many rare species from our land, even to the point of extinction. So I hope my painting will rebirth the natural vitality of Formosa, reminding us all to protect our land, and revive her beautiful name, Formosa, the beautiful island.

The painting has a large planet earth surrounded by many animals.
