ONE JAMPACKED DAY L
ooking for a career in health tech, engineering, robotics or web development? You’ll find one — or a path to it — at the 2019 Vermont Tech Jam. Recruiters from Vermont’s top tech companies will be there, scouting for talent. So will representatives from some of the state’s postsecondary STEM schools and training programs. Who else will you see at the Tech Jam? Inventors, entrepreneurs, dreamers, doers, students, teachers … even a retired Vermont Supreme Court justice? Indeed! Former chief justice John Dooley is a member of the state’s Artificial Intelligence Task Force. The group will report its findings and seek comments from Vermonters at a public meeting at the Jam, starting at 1 p.m. This year’s program also includes sessions on leveraging blockchain and building businesses around the concept of trust, as well as panel discussions on finding and landing inspiring internships and navigating a career switch. Both of the latter are led by people who’ve been there and done that. The day ends with the annual Tech Jam Awards, which recognize nominees selected by judges and crowned by local voters like you. Find the finalists, along with a complete schedule and list of exhibitors, inside this guide. Ready to rock this?
