Workplace Conference
2011
WORKPLACE WELLNESS 24/7
What are productive and healthy people worth to you? Why YOU need to attend • improve the productivity of your organization by adopting best practices that result in an even stronger and Healthier workforce • hear from experts on Workplace Wellness along with delegates from diverse sectors who will provide you with keen insight into a variety of issues and opportunities •
learn how to foster Workplace Wellness and implement strategies that are effective and beneficial to everyone involved. You can become part of a broad movement for improving Alberta’s workplaces in a way that lowers costs, raises energy levels and improves focus, while better meeting the needs of your own stakeholders and customers.
GET ANSWERS to these important questions facing everyone in the workplace: 1. Is Wellness the ‘X-Factor’ in Increasing Your Bottom Line? The idea of ‘wellness’ and its relationship to productivity has been around for a while. Yet, how has wellness measured up in terms of helping organizations to increase their bottom line? What does investing in wellness look like and when is it most effective? Does wellness in the workplace actually improve job satisfaction and increase retention? What are the latest wellness strategies which can make the most difference in the workplace?
2. Wellness – Whose Business is it? Should personal wellness be everyone’s business? Why? There is a debate, for example, about recreational drug use and employment. Where is the line between personal wellness and workplace requirements for being well enough to work? Who gets to decide when an individual’s personal lifestyle choices become points of intervention by others – either by regulation or by the policy of an organization or community?
3. How do We Foster an Emotionally Healthy Workplace? Stress in and outside of the workplace is symptomatic of many factors – often induced by financial pressure, lack of time management, and demands in the workplace . These are sometimes expressed in emotionally charged incidents and, over time, can result in difficult working environments, unbalanced home lives and a breakdown in an individual’s perspective on their own roles and responsibilities. How can mental wellness be addressed in the workplace and what best practices are being used to foster emotionally healthy workplaces?
WHO should attend this event? This Conference is designed for senior management and key decision-makers of private and public sector organizations that recognize the value of economic and workplace trend information in their planning activities.
