Bringing a bygone era to life!
Remington Carriage Museum
Located in the rolling foothills of southern Alberta, the Remington Carriage Museum in Cardston provides visitors with an authentic experience of 19th and early 20th century horse-drawn transportation. The museum’s interactive galleries tell fascinating stories of turn-of-the-century society and the carriage industry, through the largest collection of horse drawn vehicles in North America – over 270 carriages, buggies, wagons and sleighs. Of course, the vehicles are only one side of the story. The Remington Carriage Museum’s herd of Clydesdales, Quarter Horses and Canadians are a major, highly popular feature of daily programs.

Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village Presented in cooperation with Kalyna County Ecomuseum and the Ukrainian Pioneers’ Association of Alberta, this exhibit, on now until September 3, 2012, features works from private collections that might not otherwise be seen by the public. One of Canada’s most acclaimed artists, William Kurelek was born near Whitford, Alberta in 1927. The son of a Ukrainian immigrant, he created a lifetime artistic legacy of more than 2,000 paintings, depicting prairie landscapes, religious imagery and scenes from Ukrainian-Canadian pioneer life. His rural images continue to resonate with audiences who fondly recall their own roots, while offering an extraordinary window into the prairie lifestyle for those who never lived it.
