Chinese calligraphy is not only based on Chinese charaters, it is also one kind of kinetic art in three-dimension space. However, it was limited in traditional tools of writing calligraphy, and it could only be expressed in two space dimension. The project is organized in three layers, first level is the imitation of stroke elements in the characters. By using the mothods of “ particle ”to record the handwriting and powerfulness in calligraphy. It allows the strokes shown in three-dimension space. Second level, in Chinese philology, several strokes consist of the compositionof a character. After influenced by the personal emotions into the Chinese composition,it will finally turned into a components in three-dimension space. Lastly, it is the depiction. Imagined a creature under the depiction of the component. The Chinese calligrphy has inpired me as the respectable creature “ dragon”.After further transform into abstract depiction, it is decribed as an architecture.Just as the way people depicted the abstract emotions for calligraphy by writing it into an article. Other than this, this is my first project to finish a case with the help of Maya.

The Project was developed through three phases. The concept of architechtural form ; The developing models of the concept ; Urban Architecture. First, it began with the searching for a concept of natural form in Architecture. Along with the concept came up with four distinguished prototypes. Subsequently, the four prototypes were experimented through (CAD/CAM) - By using Rhinoceros, it illustrate the three-dimensional models. Then, we were able to make the model with the help of laset cut and 3d printing techinics. In this phases we also produced several pyhsical models, either a cube or rectangular shape. Each of them were limited within 20-20-20 cm boxes. For the last phase, tried to find a adequate site in the urban city, and created four respectively architectural spaces. All these form of spaces originally arised from the previous four prototypes. Natural elements has always been the inspiration of my design. The composition of flowing curves and organical forms created by the nature were not only elegant also abudant for structural beauty The design concept comes from four different forms of natural source water. Including ; waves, whirlpool, ripple, foam. It also has the combination with relative skills in Chinese calligraphy. During the design process, the observation of water put more emphasis on the physical phenomenon of it’s changes. On the other hand, the calligraphy emphasize on the emotions express while writing it. For the last phase, i choosed the site beside the river. Colaborating four developed concepts and bring it back to a place related to water.Under this idea, the wharf, the church, and riverfront waterpark were the preferable choice for the site.

Privacy and Publicness has always been influential issues when discussing about housing projects. The need of housing raised rapidly owing to the population growth. However, considering nowadays housing projects, they typically lack of the transparency and the benifits of the ground floor. Accodingly, it has less opportunity to have the garden space and the interactions with their neighbors. The project aims to trigger the discussion of privacy and publicness. Except the typical catergorizing, it even subdivision both of them in detail. Take a housing unit as an example, the living room, kitchen should be catergorize in a more opened program. On the contrary, the bedroom, bathroom, reading room are relatively more private. In this project, every unit is divided into upper and bottom level due to the different need of its privacy. One of it is more opened programs (living room and kitchen), they are featured with transparent walls and window curtains. Both of them were act as the role of dividing the space into smaller rooms. For this reason, it increased the opportunities to be seen and interactions between each unit. Another, needless to say is the private programs.(bedroom, reading room, bathrooms). It provided doubled windows which also allowed the users to have the right for choosing their own privacy level. As considering the overview of the building, it appear a obvious contradictory on the facade.

This project aim to reconstruct one of the elementary school.Under the limitation, the resconstruction includes tear down the origins and rebuild the building. By doing so, it provides the school a better learning environment. According to the analysis of the site, it contains several advantages of the natural sources around the school. One of the feature is that the school has been raising butterflies and plantings of vegetables as teaching materials for the kids. Hence, by combing the given benefits from the sites and the class programs, reallocate the building arrangements for the school Moreover, it could also reconnect with the green elements outside the campus. The main idea is to focus on the practice of rearrangements. The practice of how to analysis the original conditions of a site in a rational way, and clearly distinguished its pros and cons. Then, improve the environment by creating better architectural spaces.

The project located at the bustling intersection with heavy flow traffic. However, the program of the cafeteria and flower shops oppositely are more suitable for a tranquil environment. By collecting the datum lines that influence the site, including the flow of pedestrians and the currect of the traffic. Then, use it as the reference line to cut and arrage the architecture volumn. Before using the digital tools as a learning mothods, this case also act as one of the practice for hand-made sculpture.

Before learning architectural designing skill, I have done several cases experimenting a series of materials, including metal, woods, concrete. Under the condition of not having the help of machines, I started to recongnize the characteristic of each of them. Other than that, i aslo realized the relationship of concepts and
