Rose & Fi Secret M
ireman’s Mission
Fireman hears that
there might be friends on the other side of a volcano, so he flies over the volcano with no problems. His friend can’t cross over the volcano, so Fireman has to go get him. The wizard pigeon, Rose, is Fireman’s new best
friend. The king and queen want Fireman to shoo out of the castle because he is being annoying. There’s a secret mission that Rose and Fireman have to go on. They want to find a map that opens up a secret part of the castle. When they
4
get back from their adventure, they notice that everyone is asleep, so they have to be quiet. To get to the secret part of the castle, they have smoke bombs and plungers to walk up the walls. The secret part of the castle is on the very top floor. Inside the secret part of the castle
they find a chest. They have to go on another adventure to find the key. Inside the chest there is some gold and a crown, and under the chest, there is a pathway. The pathway leads to their very own kingdom.

The Powerf
ful Diamond
Long long ago,
Fireman was walking in a giant field of flowers, and he was looking for a friend. Then, a robot dragon and Dr. Pigeon came out of nowhere!!! Dr. Pigeon says, “Fireman has an appointment
scheduled!” Fireman has a doctor’s appointment to test if Fireman’s powers are still working. Then, Fireman asks Dr. Pigeon, “Will you be my friend?” Dr. Pigeon says, “I am a doctor, but I have a
7
friend that is a pig.” Robot dragon says, “I like Dr. Pigeon too!!!” Dr. Pigeon says to the robot dragon, “I want to be your friend.” There’s a reason why nobody wants to be friends with Fireman and that’s because they are afraid he will accidentally light
them on fire. Fireman decides to show them that he isn’t harmful by getting a diamond that tells you all your powers. Fireman thinks the diamond will help Dr. Pigeon think he is harmless. The diamond is at the top of a mountain with lots of snow and ice.
8
He’s going to distract the people at the top of the mountain, so he can grab the crystal and run down the mountain. He melts the snow and ice. Then, he starts running down the mountain, but it was icy. He has to make sure not to go too fast and also not too slow
because the wind will catch him if he goes too slow. Fireman goes to find Dr. Pigeon and the robot dragon, but can’t find them. Fireman goes to the palace, and Dr. Pigeon was hiding there the whole time! It turns out that Dr. Pigeon was the
9
one who planted the diamond after all!! The robot dragon goes to a secret lab to make Dr. Pigeon invisible. The whole time Dr. Pigeon wanted to see if Fireman would look for them. Fireman has an issue though. He can’t see Dr. Pigeon! Fireman then creates invisible
glasses that can see Dr. Pigeon. Now Dr. Pigeon and robot dragon trust Fireman!!!

Dragon Eg
ggs Rescue
Fireman goes into the
cave to find a dragon. The dragon has red
eyes and has cannons on its body. It can transform into a robot. Fireman goes to fight the dragon and the dragon breathes fire on him, but it doesn’t
do anything. Fireman goes underwater while the dragon remains above. However, they almost crash into each other. Fireman needs to rescue a person in the cave but must defeat the dragon first. The person, whose name
12
is Bob, was kidnapped by the dragon and kept in the cave. While in the cave, Fireman finds some dragon eggs. Instead of being destroyed, the dragon flies away. Then, Bob and Fireman go back to the castle with the dragon eggs. They defeat the dragon
while they’re at the castle. They protect the kingdom and decide to raise the dragon eggs as their own to guard the castle. They live happily ever after!

Single Gra
ain of Rice
Fireman is looking for
a friend per the king
and queen’s request. The castle is filled with odd flowers that make Fireman sneeze. In order to stop sneezing, he must eat a single grain of rice without touching any other
pieces. Fireman knows that the rice must be inside the kitchen of the castle. The guards see Fireman and think he is a bad guy. In order to get away from the guards, Fireman must go up the long five story staircase,
15
sneezing all the way up. His fire breath made it hard to go up the stairs. Fireman finds a worker that looked just like him, except they breathed water instead of fire! Their name is Waterman. Waterman wants to help Fireman by getting the rice for him.
Oh no! The guards are still after them, so Fireman goes to let out a roar of flames, but he can’t breathe fire because of the sneezing. Waterman, knowing that the guards love to swim, makes a swimming pool for the guards to have fun in. Fireman
16
and Waterman rush toward the kitchen, but they stumble into another pair of guards!! The guards want to bring Fireman and Waterman to the pool, but Fireman, still sneezing, needs to go to the kitchen to get one piece of rice. But where is the rice? They
look everywhere, but there is no rice, not even in the rice cooker! They decide to go to the next level because Waterman knows there is a food storage room that might have extra rice. They look up and down and thought there was no rice in the room, but they both
17
look under the table and find . . . One piece of rice! Fireman eats the rice and his sneezing stops. Fireman and Waterman are happy that his sneezing stopped. Fireman is jealous because Waterman is friends with the guards. But Waterman assures
him that it’s okay, and they both go introduce him to the guards and swim with the guards in the new pool in the field of strange flowers!

826 National was inspired to take a stand on issues of inclusion and diversity in light of the many events that spotlighted social and racial injustices throughout the country. We as educators, volunteers, and caring adults need to be aware of the wide range of issues our students face on a day-to-day basis. We need to support these young people as they navigate through and try to make sense of the world and their own identities. We need the support and the feedback from our community to ensure 826 is living up to these standards. Through our inclusion statement, our internal diversity and inclusion group, cultural competency resources provided to staff and volunteers, and partnerships with other organizations, we are always working towards being a more inclusive and supportive organization. We at 826 have the privilege of working with the next generation of scholars, teachers, doctors, artists, lawyers, and writers. It's our job to make sure they are able to take their own stands. As an organization committed to encouraging youth in their creative expression, personal growth, and academic success, 826 National and its chapters recognize the importance of diversity at all levels and in all aspects of our work. In order to build and maintain the safe, supportive 826 environment in which great leaps in learning happen, we commit ourselves to inclusion: we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, nationality, marital status, English fluency, parental status, military service, or disability. The 826 National network is committed to encouraging youth to express themselves and to use the written word to effectively do so. We encourage our students to write, take chances, make decisions, and finish what they start. And 826 strives to do this in an environment free from discrimination and exclusion.
