Spring Arts Festival Spring Arts Festival has been considered a branding art grand festival for performing arts in the southern Taiwan. Moreover, it is also a City Arts Festival of large-scale performing arts in addition to Taiwan International Festival of Arts held by National Chiang Kai-Shek Cultural Center. This festival combines a series of selected programs covering a wide range of fields, including arts, music, drama, dancing, parent-child, and traditions.

Chosen as one of the top 10 tourist attractions in 2012, Meinong has distinguished countryside atmosphere and splendid field landscape. After the last harvest of the year, farmers will grow the seeds of Coreopsis on their farmland in winter time. During the bloom season, visitors are able to witness the gorgeous view of sea of Coreopsis as if there is a colorful carpet on top of the ground. Beautiful Coreopsis flowers swinging with the wind form the most inviting and fascinating scenery. In recent years, visitors like to explore Meinong by cycling around during the full blossom season of Coreopsis. February Kaohsiung Lantern Festival A series of activities of Kaohsiung Lantern Festival used to hold at Guang Rong Pier and Jhong Jheng Bridge along the coasts of Love River. Except for the original Guang Rong Pier and the coasts along the Love River, 2012 Kaohsiung Lantern Festival expends its scope by holding a series of activities at Gushan Park in Cishan District and Gangshan Riverside Park. Neimen Song-Jiang Battle Array Taiwanese folk parades usually reflect popular cultures and are closely related to traditional agricultural life. National Universities and Colleges Creative SongJiang Battle Array Contest held in Neimen provides a great opportunity for young people to learn more in-depth about Song-Jiang Battle. National Games for the Disabled National Games for the Disabled is the high light in April for Kaohsiung City. Sport items include mixed athletics, track and field competitions, swimming, bowling, disabled powerlifting, basketball, wheelchair pool balls, wheelchair tennis, table tennis, shooting, disabled archery, boccia, disabled croquetgoal ball, special Olympics bowling, special Olympics badminton, special Olympics boccia, special Olympics roller skating race. Dragon Boat Race on Dragon Boat Festival

Which dragon boat race is the most exciting? We highly recommend visitors to watch breathtaking dragon boat race along the coasts of Love River in Kaohsiung so that visitors can experience this grand traditional folk activity. Among all the races, the evening dragon boat race held at Jhongyun Fishing Port is different than others. All the participating teams decorate their dragon boat with LED lights. Kaohsiung has become a must-not-miss popular tourist spot to many people when it comes to arranging a trip during summer time. Cijin Ocean Music Festival is also another worth-visiting event which visitors can enjoy cheering at the beach while listening to a wide range of music performances. There are a variety of activities held during Dagangshan Longyan Honey Festival, including the evaluation of honey and sales of local agricultural products, classical beekeeper's performance, and Dagangshan cultural tour, etc. Visitors are welcome to taste different kinds of honey products and also have fun in Dagangshan.

Lion Dance Festival SiShihjia is a name of a place and also has a deeper meaning beyond its words. At the times of ancient agricultural society, it is very common to see the scene of farmers play with each other with tools at hand for the purpose of either killing time or exercising. The local procession teams received the name of 'Shihjia' from their outstanding competition records.

Zuoying Wannian Folklore Festival Zuoying was called Wannian County in the ancient times. Wannian Folklore Festival is considered a huge cultural event which combines history and culture with religious celebration. It reproduces the scenery of old Wannian City Hall at the Jheng Family Dynasty for people to understand the process of Taiwan's development. Moreover, it also includes religious blessing ceremony and further forms the image of temples surrounded by Lotus Lake. After the merge of Kaohsiung City and County in 2011, Zuoying and Fongshan are combined as a city after a century. Therefore, the theme of that year was based on "the encounter of two cities." Visitors are able to experience the piety of folk religion through joining Zuoying Wannian Folklore Festival.

Kaohsiung Film Festival Since its launch in 2001, there are more than hundreds of films with diverse themes and good comments participate in Kaohsiung Film Festival every year. There are also many seminars held by international well-known directors to introduce different facets regarding cultures, arts, and all kinds of shooting techniques.

Gangshan's traditional market activity has been passed by generations for 200 years. It used to be a market for bamboo products where people could exchange goods with each other. This traditional market has transformed into a popular place where people can find all kinds of groceries and food stands.

Grouper Cultural Festival Yongan District is famous for its groupers. The best season for tasting groupers takes place in November. Under the Regulations for the Management of Home Stay Facilities, legal hostels should comply with all the regulations regarding fire safety, construction management, hygiene policies, and insurance other than random checks by competent authorities in order to provide the best protection to all the visitors. After successfully applying for certified license, owners of the hostels will receive a hostel registration card and a special sign. Moreover, information about the hostels will also be registered on the homestay Industry and Hostel Management Information System of Tourism Bureau, M.O.T.C., which is beneficial for both owners of the hostels and tourists. Green is a color symbolizing environmental protection. In response to the policy of ‘Energy saving and carbon emission reduction’, the Government encourages owners of hostels to participate in ‘LiViNN’ Green’ activities. Visitors choosing green environmental-designed rooms agree the following conditions, no toiletries provided, and no bed sheet and towels replaced for visitors staying more than one night to reduce unnecessary waste and sewage. Owners of the hostels, on the other hand, will also provide special discount during visitors’ stay and also hold lucky draw activities as rewards to these visitors. According to the above-mentioned, what do visitors need to bring during their stay? They simply need to prepare their own toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, cleaning supplies, and towels, etc.) Choosing to stay in the green environmental-designed room is definitely beneficial not just to the visitors but also to our Earth. 16

Parking lot: The owner of the hostel provides space for visitors to park their cars during their stay. Pick-up service: This sign means that the hostel provides pick-up service for the visitors for their convenience. Do not forget to ask the pickup location and schedule while booking the room. Pet allowed: Many people would like to take their pets with them during their trip. With this 'pet allowed' sign, it means the owner of the hostel also welcomes the visitors to bring their pets during their stay.

Breakfast included: Breakfast is the beginning of each day. No matter the owner of the hostel prepares breakfast with local foods or buys breakfast from outside, it is wonderful to feel energetic in the beginning of the day.

Toucianyuan Hostel Toucianyuan Hostel is located on the way to a famous tourist spot, Moon World. There are a few single wood cabins where visitors can choose to stay overnight. The ' Jin-zuan ' pineapples produced in Kaohsiung are provided all year round, making it a great gift choice for all the visitors.

Jinhuang Mango-brightly colored fruit with a unique texture

Jinhuang mango is planted by Huang Jin-huang who lives in Liouguei. It has a strong fruit smell, thinner fibers, and a smaller kernel. Its mass production period happens in May every year. The most popular type of litchi, ' Yuherbau litchi ' is produced by Dashu, Cishan, Shanlin, Neimen, and Yanchao. People who like litchi all know that it is important to eat them when they are fresh. Otherwise, the color, fragrance, and flavor will change as time goes by. Therefore, people who like this fruit must remember to get some in May and June every year.

Longan-A must-not-miss fruit in summer time

Longan is a fruit which exists in many people' s summer memories. There is a saying, " Eat longan and money will come to you. " Therefore, this fruit is always offered at the altar during the Ghost month. Longans are mainly grown in Neimen, Shanlin, Tianliao, Jiasian and Cishan in Kaohsiung. Some people dry longans to make sweet soup in winter time.

Papaya-Create the best ďŹ&#x201A;avor with milk

Papayas are mainly planted in Meinong, Cishan, Shanlin, and Liouguei. Due to its net room cultivation, farmers are able to provide papayas in the entire year. Except for eating them fresh, it is also made into a very common drink with milk, called papaya milk.

Bananas-The pride of Cishan

Taiwan, also called the banana kingdom, produces bananas with the best quality in Kaohsiung's Cishan. The places of producing bananas also include Meinong, Jiasian, Shanlin, and Liouguei other than Cishan. Bananas from these places taste very soft with inviting aroma.
