ABOUT The National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Preserve, one of the largest Ukrainian museum centers, was established on September 29, 1926 within the territory of the old Orthodox Christian monastery, namely Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Its annalistic history begins in the mid-11th century. The Preserve covers about 32 hectares, where 140 landmarks, including two Сave labyrinths, are located. The Trinity Gate Сhurch (12th – 18th c.), the Сhurch of the Savior at Berestove (12th – 17th c.) and the Dormition Cathedral (11th – 18th c.) are the most known architectural monuments of the ensemble of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
