Autobiography
My name is TengJie Wang. I am from Kaohsiung . There are four people in my family. My father works in fire station. He is a firefighter. My mother works in goverment. She is also a busy woman. I have a younger brother. My brother is a junior high school student. He is 15 years old. I graduated from Taipei Tatung University, majoring in industrial design. Instead of fooling around, I devoted myself to my design and paid attention to all meaningful things happened in daily life. At that time I always learned new things from the different type of designers’ projects. It was very stressful ,but I had a wonderful time. In the third grade I started my internship in a technology company, in which I made huge progress. After completing my military service, I aimed to acquire a challenging job to sharpen my professional skills. And I found that Redman Design Studio fits my goal properly. I started my job in Redman Design Studio in August, 2013.There were so many challenges at that time. I was trained to meet our clients’ needs and complete a wide range of design projects in a very short time. Our clients include Dell,Asus,and the others companies in Asia.I learned a lot of things which vary from from what I learned in the school. The fist time I experienced the leather craft, I feel deeply crushed in it. The smell and the texture of the leather was so fascinating to me. But the part I love the most is the process of craftwork.In order to acheive more professional craftwork skills, I decide to leave the company in June, 2015 and start to pursue the study in Italy. As a industrial designer, I decide to concentrate my futher career in leather craft.

The process of making leather product is so facinating to me so that I decide to concentrate on it.
The first time I entered into the world of the leather craft, I feel deeply crushed in it. The smell and the texture of the leather was so fascinating to me. But the part I love the most is the process of craftwork. As a industrial designer I decide to dedidcate myself in leather craft.
Craft learning I learned with a master in Taiwan
My friend introduced me to Master Xue who has been working on leather bag in Taiwan for 20 years. In the first time we met, I found that Master Xue still have a lot of enthusiasm in leather craft, and he is very willing to pass on his technique to the young people. I learned some basic skills of leather craft from the Master Xue, Under his guidance,I learned about the esoteric side of the craftwork slowly.

盲胞大 The only point is to provide visually impaired friends a convenient leisure activities.

On the market,there are few Assistive Devices design specifically for the leisure activities.As the starting point, I design a special chinese chessboard which help them to have a convenient casual hobby for the visually disabled.
Design motivation The purpose is to solve the problem I planed several interviews with the visually disabled before this design’s project in order to know their problems and requirements. In my opinion, I think that everybody needs the activity not only by movement but also by heart. Consequently, I focused on the topic of leisure activity. In the interview, I found out that dynamic leisure activities such as runnig and climbing is a huge obstacle for them. Hence, I decide to design a product that suits for static leisure activities. Finally, I choose the chinese chessboard for visually impaired in this designing project.

Location which people prefer
Design based on people-oriented The design of chess like the soundbox which inside have a resonator.When they put the chess upside the bow string, the string will make the sound. Braille characters(alphabet for the blind) is parts of the design, in which different kinds of chess have different types of braille characters. Such design allows the blind people easily recognize the chess by touching.
The arrangement of the bow string which have different size of thickness is the same as the chinese chessboard. Because of the different thickness of the bow string, it can make different sound by pressing different location.

Manufacturing a new furniture with the primitive wood.
�Pixel�is the experimaental furniture. In the first beginning I casually create different models as my wish. In the end,I found a basic and original way to produce the furniture by using a outer mold which can adjust the shape whatever you like .

Experimental design There are two main characters in Pixel project: one is outer mold composing of several strips of woods and one is the furniture which will be able to produce in different materials. The usage of strips of wood are benificial for retaining the wood grains and keeping the smell of the wood. The arrays of external mold include front, left and right directions. The size of the froont strip of wood is 10x10x60 while right hand side and left hand strip of wood is seperately 10x10x30. The whole mold is entitled to fill with 216 strips of wood. You can casually create different shapes of the furnture through streching out and drwaing bak the woods .
There are so many difficulties during this process But I learns a lot from it in the end.
At first ,sketching the modeling you want,then push the wood according to the sketch .
Measure-Measure how gypsum pounder I need for the furniture,then mix the water into it.
Pouring in gypsum. Wait for one week, move out the strips of wood and Fetch the furniture. The job is done.

Folding and sealing the skin is the most fascinating part for me in the process of making dumplings.
Mentioning Taiwanese cuisine, dumpling must be the first option coming into most people’s mind. Carefully observe the production process of the dumplins: making 18 folds to seal delicious ingredients. ’’Fold’’is the process which intrigues my attention. Thus, the design concept of this project is about how to use the appropriate skills to express the folds in order to merge into our culture and life.
Design thinking The mixture of function and culture The top of the package uses the spinning technique called ‘cho-cho’,and produce the wrinkling effects. After placing the changes into the package, the user needs to tighten the rope. In the process, the details of the wrinkles will be slowly shown up. It’s the artistic concept which slowly ‘shrinks’ up the package.
