The Story When I applied to university, I told my parents I wanted to go to an art school because I couldn’t picture myself working a nine-to-five job. I knew I would be easily frustrated in a highly structured career. I wanted to work in a more expressive and creative environment to bring my ideas to life through visuals as a form of communication. Instead, my parents persuaded me to get a traditional education to prepare me for a more stable career. However, after first year, I realized it was not the right fit. I needed something more stimulating so I switched from psychology to media studies and began taking graphic design courses at nearby colleges. Since then, I’ve taken on a multitude of creative challenges outside of school to help me define my style and refine my skills. I began designing the weekly school newspaper and completed various graphics-related internships. Most recently I finished working as a head designer for an Italian film festival which was as rewarding as it was challenging. In a way, it integrated what I had learned in school and on my own with real world applications. In those four months, I led a team of designers and executed all the artistic materials that best represented the theme of the festival. Now that I’ve graduated, I am excited for a career in design! I am ready to see how far my passion will take me and to experience the journey along the way.
7 x 7 illustrations 2015
This is an on-going self-initiated project. I want to explore my creativity and see what I can create in a 7 x 7 space. In each of these illustrations, I explore different emotions, feelings and state of mind.
Toronto Poster 2014
One of my first projects to explore the city’s attractions and landmark based on the subway transit system.
Carnival 2014
Constellation 2015
A creative study that allowed me to explore the shape of common constellations.
Cirque du Soleil 2014
Created for a class project. The brief was to create a promotional poster for an existing event, while being consistent with the brand image, style and theme.
T T C Posters 2014
Inspired by the roll out of the new streetcars in late August 2014, I designed several informational posters based on different streetcar routes in the city.
Varsity Publications 2014 - 2015 I worked on the University of Toronto campus newspaper team as a designer. I designed various sections of the paper, as well as the winter 2015 edition of the bi-annual magazine.
ICFF Program Guide 2015
For its fourth year, the Italian Contemporary Film Festival was looking to rebrand the festival. The goal was to expand the range of attendees to younger audiences. To do so, I applied a minimalistic approach with the use of the organization’s brand colour, in order to give the program guide a fresh and updated look.
