WELCOME TO PONTRESINA!  Hello everybody! Hereafter, you’ll find the latest and most important information for the upcoming Engadin St. Moritz Ultraks on Saturday, July 4th! Please read them patiently and carefully! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate contacting us: engadin@ultraks.com

Runners of „Pitschen“ will come by Spaniolatower before heading into the forest upwards Chamanna Paradis and then down to Alp Languard. After passing Unterer Schafberg, they will go on steep to the highest point of the track, the Chamanna Segantini at 2`731 meters. Following this, they will descent back to Pontresina.



The Media track goes along Via Maistra out of town into the Taisforest and further into Val Roseg. At the hotel and restaurant Roseg Gletscher, participants will turn right upwards Fuorcla Surlej. After crossing the highest point (Fuorcla Surlej), they will pass Murtèl – at mid station of Corvatsch cable car – and continue towards Hahnenlake, before descending to St. Moritz Bad.


After that, runners have to endure one last ascent through Stazerforest heading to Muottas da Schlarigna. The Media track then goes straight back to Pontresina and ends in front of the Rondo.

The Grand track is a combination of both loops, Pitschen and Media and combines the best, that Engadin, Pontresina and St. Moritz have to offer.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION


BEFORE THE START

Possibility of luggage storage inside the Kultur- und Kongreßzentrum (Rondo) in Pontresina. Acceptance and return of luggage from 7am to 7pm.

Please make sure to be inside the startbox 15 minutes before your respective race start.


COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT 

We recommend studying the weather forecast to be prepared for the meteorological situations that may occur. The weather forecast will be published 24 hours before the first race start und will be send to you via mail. You can also see the forecast on our website.

The following equipment is stronlgy recommanded: • Mobile phone • Longsleeve Shirt • Rescue blanket • Energy food

Sticks are allowed on all three races.

Beverages Hot: Tea (except St. Moritz Bad) Cold: Water, Power Punch Energy Drink. Full catering Beverages, + fresh fruits, dry fruits, rice waffles, dark chocolate, dark bread and Power Punch Energy Bars + Cake in the finish area.

RUNNERS MEAL On presentation of the voucher (part of your bib number) runners receive their runners meal. (First floor, Rondo) • Pasta including two different sauces • Fruits • Beverages


TIME LIMITS For safety reason, there will be time limits along the «Grand» track. All runners, that cannot complete the «GRAND» but passed by Pontresina, will be ranked in the «Media” ranking. In case you have to retire during the race, please make sure to follow the instructions of our staff members. This are the locations plus the respective time limits:   

There is a lift at Alp Languard, that you are allowed to use, which takes you back to Pontresina Unterer Schafberg ist just 1.5km away from the Rondo in Pontresina!

There will be paramedics at the following locations: - Pontresina - Murtèl - Alp Languard - Chamanna Segantini

APPROACH, IN CASE YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP 

In case you have to quit during the race, no matter what reason, please notice us • via text message to +41 79 765 94 74 or • talk to one of our staff members (orange vests) on the track

Please make sure to communicate the following details: Name, bib number, your exact location and if you need help for your descent or not Please hand your chip to one of our staff members on the track or in the finish area (Rondo, Pontresina). •

 

In case you need to be rescued via helicopter, the rescue charge will be at your costs.


FINISH  There are showers open for runners from 11am to 7pm at the

school (Chesa da Scuola) in Via Maistra.  Please remember to hand back your chip to one of our staff

members at the end of the race.  There will be a runners meal after the race at the Rondo

(1st floor)

The idyllic valley with a fantastic view of the Sella-Gletscher. About mid way through the valley you will find hotel Roseg with its Beergarden. They also serve on of best desserts of the region. Connoisseur can take a horse carriage to get here.

Easy to access with the Corvatsch cable car. Located at the mid station of the lift, this station offers an awesome view of the Silvaplana lake!

Born within the Bernina-Mountains, Pontresina is romantic, sunny and wind shielded town! Just the perfect place for peace and sport. In the middle ages, Pontresina once was more important than its neighbour St. Moritz. After the opening of the first hotel in 1850, tourismus soon began to boom. In the summer of 1885 already more than 2000 tourists visited this beautiful town!

At the highest point of the Pitschen track, the idyllic Chamanna Segantini, which is named by famous painter Segantini, is located. The hut is target of many hikers in the Engadin region.

580km of trails, 400km of bike trails and multiple breath taking via ferratas – all that can be found in Oberengadin, the ballroom of the alps. Outdoor sport can be done at its highest level. Where else can you find 4000m mountains next to well prepared tracks across impressive glaciers, multiple romantic mountain lakes and several capricorn families.
