Introduction Dear Friend Sykrunner, In this rather special year 2020, we have obviously had to adapt to the health situation and its collateral consequences. We preferred this approach to cancelling the race outright, because the population has proved that it can adapt its behaviour, whether in shops or on public transport, so why not during a race? In order to provide everyone with the safest possible environment, we have introduced a series of measures that will only be of value if you, too, make your contribution by respecting them and showing personal responsibility. If you're reading this document, you probably share this view and are willing to make some sacrifices to continue to play your favourite sport. Please take the time to read this document which should answer most of your questions, but if you still have questions, do not hesitate to send us an email (info@ultraks.com). To conclude this foreword, we would like to thank you for choosing to come and run in Zermatt. We wish you a good end of preparation and look forward to seeing you at the start of the Matterhorn Ultraks.
The Team Ultraks

Key actions and consequences of COVID-19 This year's race will be organised according to five cardinal principles: • • • • •
Prevention and education Increased and improved hygiene Reduction of the density of people Minimization of contact points Athlete empowerment and autonomy
This translates into the following measures:
AID STATIONS Aid stations will be maintained but supply will be reduced. We strongly encourage you to maximize your autonomy. As a reminder, it is possible to have a personal assistance as long as it is near the official aid station. A behavioural protocol will be established for aid stations. •
REPORT COURSE " ACTIVE " The postponement of the " ACTIVE " race to Sunday was necessary to reduce the density of people on Saturday.
BIB NUMBER DISTRIBUTION TIMES We have set up precise schedules for the distribution of bib numbers per race so as not to create unnecessary gatherings.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE SCHEDULE OF RACES The schedule of races has been adapted. Please check your departure time.
WAVE START In order that the runners can keep to the distances in the start area, we have set up wave starts consisting of about 100 runners and spaced about 5 minutes apart.
• • •
Each runner wishing to use the aid station must first wash their hands with a hydro-alcoholic solution (HAS) provided. Refreshments will be served in an individual tray by the staff. At the exit the trays will be thrown away and another HAS dispenser will be at the disposal of the runners.
It is everyone's responsibility to maintain the distances and comply with the barrier gestures.
FINISH AID STATION AND MEAL Arrival aid station is abandoned. Once you cross the finish line, you will be directed to one of the two exits. At this point you will receive a "Lunch Bag" consisting of : - A hot Wrap (veggie or chicken) - A fruit - Banana cake - One drink Fountains will also be installed at various points in the arrival area to allow you to drink water at will.
PAGE 4
© MATTERHORH ULTRAKS – 2020
There will be no more gathering place under the tent. You will be able to eat your lunch while respecting the social distances on the Ultraks zone or elsewhere at your convenience.
MEDALS No medal this year.
FINISHER T-SHIRT This year, quite exceptionally, the race t-shirt will be given to you with your bib number. The size will correspond to the one given at registration. There will be no fitting and no exchange.
OTHER MEASURES Hydroalcoholic solution (HAS) HAS dispensers are available to runners at all key locations. In addition, each runner will receive with his bib number his personal 30 ml flask, sufficient for the race weekend.
Equipped staff Staff will be equipped with masks and gloves where necessary.
Reminders You will be frequently reminded to follow the rules.
We recommend that you wait until the end of the race to wear it .
VESTIAIRES No locker rooms available this year.
MASSAGES We also had to give up offering massage services this year.
PRIZE GIVING Prize Giving will be reduced to the first three men and first three women in each race. The age group winners will be notified by SMS and will be able to collect their prize at the location indicated to them. The podiums will receive prizes offered by SCOTT and the Age Groups by Jean-René Germanier Wines.

Specific Information « EXTREME » A REFERENCE PATH Launched in 2019, the « EXTREME » course was an exceptional success and instantly became a Skyrunning's benchmark. This year, as you probably know, the "Skyrunner® World Series" circuit had to be cancelled. However, we have maintained the race and some of the best athletes in the world will be in Zermatt, including Daniel Antonioli (ITA), winner in 2019 and the American living in Chamonix, Hillary Gerardi, second last year.
« B COURSE » At high altitude, weather is a key player. And runners’ safety is our first and foremost priority. We therefore had to prepare for the eventuality where AirZermatt Helicopters cannot fly and so ensure rescue in certain areas of the course. (Unter Gabelhorn, Rothornhütte snd Platthorn) In such situation, we would change the course as follows, ensuring notheless a 22 km and 2,200m elevation race :
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED To register, each runner had to show credentials to make sure they can be independent in high altitude, in mountain terrain and in adverse conditions.

FAQ Am arriving on Saturday with the train. When does the first train reach Zermatt? Täsch-Zermatt trains run 24 hours a day from Thursday to Sunday. From 5.55 a.m. to 9.55 p.m., trains run every 20 minutes (at 15, 35 and 55). At night there is one train per hour. Journey time is about 12 minutes. The complete timetable can be consulted here. I am registered. How do I change races? Due to sanitary measures, we only accept changes between Saturday races (« SKY » and « MOUNTAIN ») or to « VERTICAL », « ACTIVE » and « EXTREME » races (subject to acceptance of the file for the latter). You must send your request by email to support@msochrono.ch specifying the race you are registered for, the race you wish to participate in and your estimated running time for this new race. As specified in the regulations, switching to a shorter race does not entitle you to any financial compensation. On the other hand, switching to a longer race implies payment of the difference between the price paid and the current price of the new race.
I would like to pass my slot to another person. How should I proceed? Direct your request by email to support@mso-chrono.ch precising the following details of the new person: -
FirstName Name Birth date Nationality Gendre Full Address E-Mail Mobile Number Expected race finish time T-Shirt Size
The request must come from the person who is already registered. This is possible until Friday, August 14 at midnight. For the « EXTREME », the person must answer the questionnaire and be accepted. The time required to evaluate the file must be taken into account. I know I will not be able to participate. What should I do? Please inform us by email via cancellation@ultraks.com Can I make changes to my site registration? This year, no on-site modifications can be made.
