From the City Manager Welcome to 100 Years of History and Traditions

It’s finally summertime in Temple City and we are all ready for some much-needed warmer weather. This spring brought a lot of unexpected rain. As Californians, we “survived” over 10 rain storms this season and we can all agree it felt like we had teleported to the gloomy and wet Pacific Northwest. Nonetheless, the rain was good for the California drought as we enjoyed some much-needed indoor time with our families.

This summer Temple City will be celebrating its 100th founding year. City Staff is working with the Historical Society of Temple City to commemorate and organize a day of celebrating our past and history. I invite you all to stay tuned for more details as we put together something special for our community. However, the celebrations will not stop there! I hope to see you and your families at all the events Temple City has to offer this summer like our concert series, movies in the park, Camp-A-Palooza, or even at a Neighborhood Watch Meeting. I encourage you to get involved with your community and show your camellia pride!

In this issue of Connect you may notice a few changes to say the least. We decided that Summer was the perfect chance for a fresh start and compile our Rec Connect Issue with our “Big” Connect Full issue. Our residents can now enjoy one whole magazine, a one-stop shop for everything Temple City. We would love to hear your feedback on this small rebrand and let us know your thoughts at pio@templecity.us or by phone at (626) 285-2171 ext. 4122.

As we begin to enjoy the upcoming warmer weather, we hope you stay cool and indulge in all the wonderful summer activities Temple City has to offer. See you all at our upcoming city events, council meetings, and community events!

Cordially,

Bryan Cook City Manager
