This workshop was great significance to me because this was my first time wor k ing with foreigners and exper ienced the joys and dif ficulties of cooperating with people from dif ferent countries. I also deeply discussed how to design for the elderly and how to bring the elderly i n t h e c o m m u n i t y, s o t h a t t h e e l d e r l y c a n b e i n t e g r a t e d i n t o t h e f u t u r e s o c i e t y. I also took this oppor tunit y to meet many elderly friends and understood that the elder are not rigid but full of stories. It w a s a p l e a s u r e to d e s i g n w i t h t h e m !
During the internships, I gained three t h i n g s p r e c i o u s. T h a t i s, b i g i m p r o v e m e n t in designing, the right at titude toward the colleagues and super visors and the e n t h u s i a s m to l i f e. I t ’s c h e e r f u l t o a c c e s s the entirely dif ferent thinking pat tern in the internships. Within the designing procedure, I realized the interaction bet ween product and dimension of area.
With a passion for image creation, I joined the Student Organization-Film.At f i r s t I c o u l d o n l y b e a n a s s i s t a n t, t o l a t e r c a n b e a di re cto r a l o n e, a n d g u i d e n ew member s to shoot, screenw r ite, direct and other related skills. In past few years, I lear ned a lot, and at the same time, I also learned how to pass the k nowledge I learned to others. I take a f a n c y t o t h e p r o c e s s o f f i l m c r e a t i o n, a n d I'm fascinated by the abstract concepts that can be expressed in the form of images.

Ever ything seemed to me was so challenged that I made all-out ef for t to achieve whole of the design process.I not only had a great time k nowing some problems of food and agr iculture, but also learned to use some methods of stor y telling and protot yping to express m y i d e a s d i r e c t l y. Inspirati o n Why Pe ng Pa str y ? We found in all kinds of snacks that the Peng Pastr y is an impressive food. Id e ati o n Se a rching fo r e le me nts of Ta ina n We constantly considered with which element of Peng Pastr y we should apply to this project. Because glutinous rice cake was also called moon cake in the early days, which was a tonic for pregnant women. We intend to use this image to bring people warmth. At the same time, we made a moodboard to explore what Tainan's elements are, and what color represents Tainan. Finally, we think that the red brick color is suitable for representing Tainan.

Inte r v i ew Ca ptur ing some p os sible s By inter viewing, we found that the elderly have a strong affection for their loved ones, and they miss the children who work abroad. While investigating the emotions of the elderly, we found that the elderly would have the habit of using the radio, whether they listen to it in the park, or before going to bed. In this 5G generation, this is an interesting point. They said that they have been used to radio for a long time, and they are not accustomed to using new technology products, and feel more lonely. It feels good to be accompanied by a voice.

Re a rc h Refr a ming our cha lle nge ba se d on ne e ds Star ting to review some literature on the elders, we found that with increasing age, psychological tests showed a progressive decline in visuospatial per formance and both auditor y and visual reaction times increased. The elderly may had some problems of cognition as well. Thus, five visual dimensions that declined with increasing age: visual processing speed, light sensitivity, dynamic vision, near vision, and visual search. The elder vision would also become narrower, yellower, and unclear, especially for those with cataracts. In addition, finger presses and activities are far below those of young people. In terms of hearing, relatively low- or high-frequency sounds may not be heard clearly.

Typeface de sign PANTONE 16-1546 living coral After reading through some literacture on the vision of elder, we found that typeface was a critical field which had been conducted various f sur vey on it. Compared existing t ypefaces, we found that some of them were not easy to recognize under simulated PANTONE coral pink amblyopia. We took three targets of human factors ( visibility, legibility, and readibility ) into consideration when designing the typeface.

Clicking the notification can star t the radio application software in the phone. The software will automatically switch to the channel that the elder is cur rently listening to. Let the radio channel become a br idge connecting two generations, and its influence will also extend to the future to help communication.
Pio has a stunning turntable design, which only takes one finger to adjust the channel, and provides a more intuitive and interesting method to operate.

Background D e sign with met a l In this project, the professor asked us to design with metal, and gave us many interesting metal sheet application cases in the beginning. There were plent y of applications of metel design by its physical feactures. Hence, we would like to create some great experience by metal and tried to promote people's sensor y experience.
37
38
Inspirati o n Look ing fo r wa rd to swe et sound We thought about the many possible applications of metal plates, but found that there are ver y few problems that can be solved with metal plates, or even others have solved them. W hen we are distressed, we accidentally find the sound of knocking on each other through metal plates. It's fun, so we would like to give people a new experience through sound. At the same time, we also found that the door opening event is boring. We hoped to bring people the joy of opening the door through our design. We had imagined many daily voices and looked for ward to finding the most beautiful sound.
39
40
Protot y pe E x pl or ing di f fe re nt way to ma ke sound We had tried many ways to make sounds in order to create beautiful sounds. We have tried several ways of occurrence, like the way of picking a guitar, and on the material of the strings, we also used plastic and metal wires for testing. In addition, on the resonance box, we also tried several shapes. In the end, we found that the sound of metal tubes striking each other is the most pleasing, and among metal materials, the sound of brass is the crispest.
41
42
Sketching At this stage, we made a quick sketch, mainly have a discussion about the shape, the length of the metal tube, the size of the metal sheet, and the arrangement of the overall shape. We tried many possibilities and finally chose the roundest and most harmonious configuration.
Mode ling As a novice to make metel model, it was really challenged for us at first. We failed in several par ts of metal manufacturing, such us bending, cropping, and weiding. We were too ignorant to polish the sur face of metal especially. As a consequence, we produced lots of defectives. We asked sheet metal worker for help in order to stop failing. Thanks for him, we not only realized the process of making metal, but also got a useful skill of modeling and completed our project successfully.

Xcellent Products International summer internship D e sign with ha ppine s s During the internships, I gained three things precious. That is, big improvement in designing, the right attitude toward the colleagues and super visors and the enthusiasm for life. To be honest, it is quite boring to work in front of the lab ever y day. However, I acquired how to stay zealous and get inspirations from my plain life af ter I obser ved the way the seniors lived. It’s cheer ful to access the entirely dif ferent thinking pattern in the internships. I made my design fit the market demand better by putting myself in customers' shoes and analyzing products in a strict way. Within the designing procedure, I realized the interaction between product and dimension of area.

Life i s de sign I lear ned what so-call “Life is design from the director. He not only integrated his living philosophy i nto d e s i g n b u t b ro u g ht d e s i g n t h i n k i n g m o d e to his life. He always took products in our daily as an example when explaining the criteria of design to me. I found the pure happiness on designing from him and realized that happiness did bring inspirations. Ever y single time, I was persuaded by his eloquent speeches. Some seemed to be hilar ious then but was full of incredible thinking patterns after recalling his wo rds. H is p re cise a n a l ysis c a n a l ways b r i n g stunning perspectives and practical ways to car r y out. I have to say, his legend truly carried incredible life experiences. I also found that he had engaged in var ious ama zing design programs like the ear ly d eve l o p m e nts of Te s l a a n d A p p l e C o m p u te r. H i s f u l l s h a r i n g m a d e m e b e awa re of t h e s e e m i n g l y insignificant things in my life for they can ultimately build up the picture of my life. Even though he tended to criticize on me frankly, in my view, this is the way he made me grow and became stronger.
G o fur the r a nd climb highe r With this internship oppor tunity, I went fur ther and climb higher and profoundly improved my design ability. I was assigned to be responsible for a company ’s design project. At first, the director asked me to conduct a draft test first, and then evaluate the size of the product in the entire field before drawing sketches and designing. Therefore, in the next few days, I Star ted to cut the wind gusset, and conducted a series of grass model tests to discuss the product size restrictions and interaction with the field. After completing the construction of the model, the director asked me to carr y out product market sur veys and preliminar y design ideas using the "form-feeling-function" method for design thinking and analysis. First, we must collect existing products on the market and obser ve and analyze Design guidelines and details to be noted. At the same time, I also learned about CMF design, color, material, and finishing. I learned that different materials and sur face treatments would give people a completely different feeling.

NCKU X KU Service Design Workshop D e sign fo r convivia l communitie s This workshop was great significance to me because this was my first time working with foreigners and experienced the joys and dif ficulties of cooperating with people from dif ferent countries. I also deeply discusse d how to design fo r the elder l y a nd how to b r ing the elder l y in the commu nit y, so that the elderly can be integrated into the future society. I also took this oppor tunity to meet many elderly friends, understand that the elderly are not rigid but full of stories. It was a pleasure to design with them !

Convivia l communitie s We learned the concept of convivial community, learned the idea of co-prosperit y, and tried to connect people to people, let ever yone in the c o m m u n i t y p l a y to t h e i r s t r e n g t h s, a n d h ave g o o d inte racti o n. Due to coming from different countries, Ta i wa n, C h i n a, a n d J a p a n, w e h a d e nt i r e l y dif ferent work-styles and it was hard for us to communicate at first. For tunately, we overcame cultural gap and tried to have our traits in use.It was good enough to work with them.

Fir st gla nce of food a nd agr iculture i s sue s As a novice designer, I had a first glance at ser vice design during this workshop. Ever y thing seemed to me was so challenged that I made all-out effor t to achieve whole of the design process.I not only had a great time knowing some problems of food and agriculture, but also learned to use some methods of stor ytelling and prototyping to express my ideas directly. I felt pretty grateful having the oppor tunity to join such impressive bootcamp! Thanks to Steve Captain’s coaching, Roshi’s advise, Valerie Madamba’s great sharing, Anson’s reminder and Stanley’s impor tant market information, I came up with a brilliant solution of food and agriculture issues.

From insight to ac tion At the beginning, we didn't have the vaguest idea of food and agriculture issues, so we practiced some design thinking methods. When par ticipating in the early acceleration workshop, we learned that there are many food and agriculture issues on the line, and some of them would profoundly affect the future. After considering our lack of abilities and tr ying to solve our immediate problems, we decided to improve the diet of modern people rather than agricultural issues. We found that modern people often eat unhealthy outside, and even cause many mental illnesses. We found that there were many difficulties before food came to the table, and the reasons why modern people do not want to cook at home was because the existing stores had a lot of ingredients which did not meet the needs of modern single people. Hence, we came up with the concept of "Food Package" and wanted to expose modern people to a healthier diet through the distribution of single ingredients. Through prototyping, we put our design concepts into action.
Pu s h myse lf beyond limits I n a l i m i te d t i m e, o u r te a m c o n t i n u e d to r e c e i v e stimulation and challenges We found that there are many problems with our idea. As a novice designer, we had missed many details, not only did not do a good job of investigation, but also did not know how to use the buisiness model. For tunately, I received a lot of h elp f ro m th e m e nto r, Roshi G i ve chi, a n d also had the oppor tunit y to recognize Blue A p ron ’s food super vision, Valerie Madamba , learned that the design guideline of meal deliver y ser vice. Af ter striving for meal deliver y ser vice design , we gave a pitch briefing, and acceped comments and doubts from domain exper ts.
FOOD PACK AGE ! We h o p e t h at t h ro u g h t h i s ser vice design, people who live alone can enjoy the happiness and health of their ow n c o o k i n g. We o m i t t h e trouble of buying ingredients and help users distribute good ingredients. From novice to vete r a n At the beginning, I didn’t know anything about film production, and even know how to operate the camera, but I learned slowly step by step, learned a lot from many power ful elder sisters, and grew from each filming experience. The most basic screenwriter began to learn, to learn how to draw a mirror, and even to the final shooting, directing and editing, gradually expand my movie dream, so that the ideas in my mind can be presented in the form of images,
Wo r ks The creation of each film is a hard work. I enjoy filming. I am good at the work of the crew as a director or photographer, because I am good at expressing ideas in the for m of images, and I t h i n k e d i t i n g i s t h e m o st d i f f i c u l t b u t the most dif ficult.
