INNOVATING WITH YOU TO DELIVER VALUE
SERVING MORE PATIENTS VELCADE® @ HOME Aligned with Ministry of Health’s vision of bringing care to the community, VELCADE® @ Home is an innovative model for the delivery of treatment to cancer patients in their homes. VELCADE® is used for the treatment of multiple myeloma, and requires patients to make frequent hospital visits for injections. Johnson & Johnson partnered institutions like the National University Cancer Institute and Singapore General Hospital to provide home administration to these patients through the homecare team.
ZYTIGA® EASY MONITORING PROGRAMME In partnership with National University Cancer Institute, the Zytiga® Easy Monitoring Programme offers convenient monitoring of prostate cancer patients’ liver condition through monthly home visits to collect blood samples for testing. Basic clinical assessment is also performed by the Cancer Home Care Team Nurse.
IMPROVING PERFORMANCE PROJECT PATIENT SAFETY 60% of errors in hospitals are due to medication errors. Aligned with the National Medical Safety Strategy to enhance the safety of medical delivery systems, Johnson & Johnson took the lead to introduce 2D barcodes on pharmaceutical drug packagings. These 2D barcodes are implemented on both inner and intermediate packagings. This helps to reduce errors and increase efficiency and productivity in pharmacies.
TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT PARTNERSHIP To reduce the length of stay of Total Knee Replacement patients, Johnson & Johnson partnered Tan Tock Seng Hospital to support the development of pre-counseling materials and sessions to enhance understanding of post-surgery expectations. Within 6 months, the proportion of patients with a shortened length of stay increased, easing hospital bed utilization. In addition, patients have a significant increase in knowledge regarding recovery processes and reduced feelings of anxiety.
TAKE AIM Johnson & Johnson helps hospitals assess the risks of Surgical Site Infection (SSI) and formulates customized plans to help healthcare providers implement evidence-based infection prevention strategies and drive compliance with institutions’ policies.
MAXIMISING RESOURCES PAVE Access to innovative medicines can be a barrier due to high cost. Patient Access Programs (PAPs) help patients access medicine they need by providing financial support. Hospitals track PAPs manually, leading to human errors and inefficiencies. PAVE is a digital solution developed in partnership with pharmacies to help hospitals and patients manage PAPs and enhance efficiency within the hospital. This led to a 90% reduction in manpower costs required to handle each PAP. In 2016, PAVE won the National Healthcare Group Recognition Award (Team).
PROJECT PROCESS IMPROVEMENT (PI) Actively partnering various stakeholders from Group Procurement Offices, Hospitals' Materials Management Departments and Operating Theatres, Johnson & Johnson co-developed initiatives to enhance productivity through invoicing efficiency and accuracy.
