Bajo la dirección del presidente Alejandro Giammattei los ministerios han promovido la ejecución de distintos proyectos de desarrollo, que van desde salud hasta infraestructura. En esta edición, le compartimos cuáles son los 8186 trabajos que se ejecutan. Cabe resaltar que la mayor cantidad de estos corresponden al organismo Ejecutivo y representa un 41.5 por ciento. Además, las autoridades guatemaltecas reportan la ejecución de 2600 proyectos e intervenciones.En esa misma línea, le describimos los datos
de la inversión del Gobierno al segundo cuatrimestre de 2023. Entre las buenas noticias, le contamos que se firmó el Acuerdo 1543, Reglamento Relativo a la Cobertura del Régimen de Seguridad Social para el Migrante Guatemalteco, a lo que el gobernante calificó como “histórico”. Por último, le invitamos a que deguste los postres guatemaltecos para el Día de Todos los Santos, así como que conozca los cementerios coloridos, los cuales han sido reconocidos por medios internacionales. ¡Guatemala le espera!

Crecer Sano, el proyecto de nutrición y salud del Ministerio de Salud Pública y Asistencia Social de Guatemala, entregó 238 709 kits de alimentación complementaria, donde se benefició a familias de los departamentos de Chiquimula, Totonicapán, Huehuetenango, Sololá, San Marcos, Alta Verapaz y Quiché. E st a s b o l s a s co n t i e n e n alimentos con las medidas y cantidades necesarias para que los pequeños puedan nutrirse.

Las unidades ejecutoras del sector público han promovido 8186 proyectos e intervenciones para mejorar la calidad de vida de los guatemaltecos, informó la Secretaría de Planificación y Programación de la Presidencia (Segeplan) durante la presentación del Segundo Informe Cuatrimestral de Rendición de Cuentas 2023. Las obras han sido desarrolladas además de las entidades del Organismo Ejecutivo, por instituciones descentralizadas, gobiernos locales y Consejos Departamentales de Desarrollo (Codede). “La mayor cantidad está a cargo del Ejecutivo, las cuales ascienden a 5624, lo cual representa un 41.5 por ciento de los proyectos en todo el territorio nacional”, indicó Keila Vilchez, titular de Segeplan. Los trabajos abarcan infraestructura vial, educativa y de salud. Así como sistemas de agua potable y saneamiento, entre otros. Forman parte de los festines del 1 de noviembre, Día de Todos los Santos, cuando las familias guatemaltecas acuden a los cementerios para recordar a quienes se han ido y comparten una comida sobre las tumbas. Sin embargo, estos se pueden saborear durante el mes.
Chilacayote en miel Es uno de los frutos más utilizados en ceremonias indígenas y su origen se remonta a la Época Precolombina. Para prepararlo, se necesita panela, canela en raja, pimienta gorda, jengibre y la fruta en sí.

Jocotes en dulce Uno de los tradicionales postres consiste en dejar la fruta en agua para que ésta se suavice. Luego se coloca al fuego con panela y canela. También están los garbanzos en miel, cuya receta es la misma, solo se sustituyen los jocotes por la semilla y listo.

Guatemalan families go to the cemeteries to remember those who have gone before us and share a meal at the graves. However, you can taste these delicious desserts all month.

En Guatemala, el Día de Todos los Santos (1 de noviembre) se traduce en una gran celebración, cuando cientos de familias llegan a los cementerios para adornar las tumbas, compartir una buena comida y recordar los momentos con quienes se han ido. Si n embargo, hay unos camposantos que destacan por su color e incluso han sido reconocidos internacionalmente; le compartimos cuáles son.
Chichicastenango La necrópolis se encuentra situada en lo alto de un cerro, donde las lápidas son multicolores, esto hizo que fuera destacado por National Geographic . Además, saltan a la vista las costumbres. Una de ellas es que las tumbas pintadas de blanco es de los padres, turquesa para las madres, rosado a las niñas y por supuesto el celeste a los niños. Si fueron abuelos, se encuentran coloreadas de amarillo, pues según sus creencias ayudan en la protección.
Durante el 1 de noviembre se puede observar a chamanes, quienes llegan con inciensos y aguardiente para realizar rituales y así ahuyentar los malos espíritus.
San Antonio Palopó Ubicado a las orillas del lago de Atitlán, Sololá, el fosal destaca por las miles de velas que alumbran los mausoleos que en su mayoría se encuentran
pintadas de azul, amarillo y morado. Además, los ancianos llegan con inciensos mientras rezan para pedir por las almas. Los mariachis entonan varias melodías para recordar a los que ya partieron.

Colorful Cemeteries In Guatemala, All Saints’ Day (November 1st) is a grand celebration where hundreds of families come to the cemeteries to decorate the graves, share a good meal, and remember the moments with those who have passed away. However, some cemeteries stand out for their color and have received international recognition; these are the following.

Chichicastenango The cemetery is on top of a hill, where the tombstones are of multiple colors; this called the National Geographic attention. Plus, customs are evident; the tombs are painted white for the fathers, turquoise for the mothers, pink for the girls, and light blue for the boys. If they were grandparents, they would be colored yellow because, according to their beliefs, they help to protect them. In addition, on November 1st, shamans can be seen arriving with incense and aguardiente (high alcoholic beverage) to
perform rituals to ward off evil spirits.
San Antonio Palopó Located on the shores of Lake Atitlán, Sololá, the tomb stands out for the thousands of candles illuminating the mausoleums, primarily painted in blue, yellow, and purple.
In addition, the elders arrive with incense while praying for the souls. At the same time, the mariachis sing several melodies to remember those who have passed away.

María Godoy DCA Mundo E l a r t i st a g u a t e m a lt e co Marlov Barrios, reconocido por sus logros en la pintura co n t e m p o rá n ea , est re n ó su primer álbum Manjar Profano, que fusionó las artes visuales, la creación poética y la música. Asimismo, expuso recientemente en Galería El Túnel sus obras pictóricas. Esta producción discográfica contó con la mezcla de Frank Wild, de Finca Studios, en Panajachel, y la masterización de Pedro Pina, de Lapsus en Barcelona. El diseño editorial de la producción discográfica estuvo a cargo de Jimena Pons Ganddini y la fotografía de Clara de Tezanos. Colaboró el fundador del sello Identidata, Casta (conocido como Andrés Castaño), quien produjo todo el proceso; también Ishto Juevez y Dj Fla.KO. “Este proyecto pinta de forma delicada un retrato de la cultura contemporánea de Guatemala, al entrelazar elementos de transmisiones de radio, boleros, hip-hop, poesía, grabaciones de campo y sonidos tanto de contextos urbanos como rurales”, comentó.

Marlov Barrios’ sound and painting journey María Godoy DCA Mundo The Guatemalan artist Marlov Barrios, renowned for his achievements in contemporary painting, released his first album, Manjar Profano (Irreverent Feast), which fuses visual arts, poetic creation, and music. He recently exhibited his paintings at the El Túnel Gallery.
This album was mixed by Frank Wild of Finca Studios in Panajachel and mastered by Pedro Pina of Lapsus in Barcelona. Jimena Pons Ganddini was in charge of the editorial design and Photography by Clara de Tezanos. The founder of the Identidata label, Casta (known as Andrés Castaño), who produced the whole
process, also collaborated with Ishto Juevez and Dj Fla.KO. “This project delicately paints a portrait of contemporary Guatemalan culture by weaving elements of radio broadcasts, boleros, hip-hop, poetry, field recordings, and sounds from urban and rural contexts,” he said.

María Godoy DCA Mundo Del 8 al 12 de noviembre el Coliseo Deportivo de la Ciudad de los Deportes será el escenario de Guatemala International Series. La competencia otorga puntos para el ranking mundial. Más de 60 badmintonistas de 15 países del mundo se alistan para competir, los cuales provienen de países como Canadá, Estados Unidos, México, El Salvador, Panamá, Brasil, Perú, Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, India, Vietnam, España, Francia, Rusia, Portugal e Italia. Las modalidades son: sencillas, dobles masculino y femenino, así como mixta.
Guatemaltecos destacados En dicho deporte, varios atletas nacionales han destacado:
Nikté Sotomayor, originaria de Retalhuleu, ha logrado varios trofeos para el país, incluso participó en Tokio 2020. Kevin Cordón ha conseguido los mejores resultados para la
nación. El zacapaneco debutó en Beijing 2008, pero fue en Londres 2012 donde selló su actuación en octavos de final; buscaría la revancha en Tokio 2020 donde alcanzó el cuarto lugar a escala mundial.

Entre otros destacados se encuentra Alejandra y Mariana Paiz, Luisa Santizo, Mariana Palacios, Raúl y Eduardo Anguiano, Eddy García, José Granados, Aníbal Marroquín y Jonathan Molineros. Durante el año, el territorio guatemalteco albergó competencias internacionales tales como: I Guatemala Internacional Junior, IX Guatemala Junior Internacional así como Guatemala International Challenge.
