The Life Experience at VUT On the 13th of April 2013, Mageu Number 1 Smooth, in partnership with the Johannesburg based production company Roth Media Productions, hosted an activation event at the Vaal University of Technology (VUT), where all 10,000 attendees received free entertainment from 18:00 that Saturday evening till 02:00 the next morning. During the course of this free-forall event, funded by FoodCorp, people at the VUT campus were offered the opportunity to witness two of South Africa's favourite personalities on stage as that night's MC's. Thanks to the Roth Media Productions team. The commercial model/YFM dj, Bujy and the beautiful and talented SABC1 presenter/actress Pearl Thusi were brought to the VUT campus on that Saturday evening. The consumer driven activation gig was held for the purpose of introducing potential consumers to the four new delicious Mageu Number 1 Smooth flavours. The Roth Media Productions team allowed randomly selected attendees to taste and enjoy the smoothness that Mageu has packaged in their Banana Custard, Strawberry Cream, Tropical Fruit and Vanilla Cream products. Speaking of good taste, to serve the attendees’ entertainment the Smooth Life way, the artist list consisted of the freshest SA talent, such as the well known house dj, MoFlava on the 1's and 2's, hip-hop heads enjoyed Johannesburg based rap group 985 when they lit the stage ablaze with a very interactive performance and Vaal's very own up and coming artists and dancers.
08 May 2013
While on stage, MC's Pearl Thusi and Bujy handed lucky attendees selected prizes such as camp chairs, cooler-bags and BlackBerry smart phones -to name but a few; for participating in the fun and interactive mechanics that Roth Media Productions had planned for them. It surely was a night filled with high energies and excitement for all. While this campaign runs, Mageu Number 1 Smooth is also conducting a fashion designing competition, where one lucky designer wins the opportunity to dress Pearl Thusi for this year's MTN SA Music Awards. Journey to success
…Entertainment… The name Infinite Boys has been causing shock waves in both the local and international dance floors lately. This pair of brothers have got what it takes to be considered a guru in what you do. If you are not a party nerd, you most probably have moved to a couple of their tunes, that's just how good they are. A-loc mag took some time to dig deeper into their lives. Infinite as a word means no limit,in a simplified version or meaning. In this context infinite refers to the two brothers who goes by the name Infinite Boys. This name came up after these magnificent brothers realised that their passion, love, ambition, reliability and the enthusiasm for music isn't going to end. Raphael and Antony Mabaso were born in the eastern side of Johannesburg in 1987 and 1988 respectively. Their journey as house music producers dates
10 May 2013
as far back as 2005. Since then they have not looked back and the only way that make sense to them has always been the way going higher and higher.
‘‘ in every place they went, their first stop was always the music store and local pubs’’ This dynamic duo of brothers live life through composing and writing music. They now have a huge and dedicated base of fans all over the world, not just in their hometown of Ekurhuleni. Talk about inspiration , This duo is inspired by the greatest musicians in the world,Im talking about the likes of Ralf Gum,Louie Vega, Quentin Harris, Frank Roger, Oskido, Black Coffee and Bruce. Its no longer a wonder why they are good. Their skill has also been sharpened by three years of sound engineering studies. All those different genres have influenced the songwriters and composers they are today.
@Infiniteboys
their sound reflect a rare versatility, with the mixture of dub, lounge and African elements. Music is not a new passion for the Infinite Boys. Since back in 2010 The Infinite Boys had already been successful in their music career. Then they had signed with the major Kalawa Jaz mee records and had in the same year released their first
album titled The ‘‘beginning To date these boys have worked with most of the top role players in the South African music industry such as Zonke, Bucie, Oskido, Bobstar, Lil Soul, Bongo Maffin, dj Pepsi, Monique Beninghum, Professor and more. Im talking about major tracks such as Pride released by Dj Pepsi , Finger prints released
by professor. Do you now get me? These boys are simply the future of house music. There's still lot to be heard from this magnificent boys and they still have a long road ahead of them in the music industry. Passion, respect, honesty, ambition, reliability and the enthusiasm for music drives them to the edge. They just wont stop doing what they do best.

Fiesta Black 12 May 2013
The Voice behind Xigubhu
2013 started with a bang for Fiesta Black. With few appearances she made on the local dance floors this young and bubbly diva has already won a space in many people’s hearts. Fiesta Black also know as FB is the lady behind the thrilling voice on the most loved song Xigubhu released by the legendary Dj Ganyani on his 8th album. All you need is few minutes to spend with her and after that you will see that she live her life like life is all she has. Fun, bubbly, an amazing sense of humour are the best words to describe this lady. Born in a small town of Ga-Dikgale in limpopo, FB is ready to conquer the world with her uniquely created voice that got people confusing her for some of the world’s well know musicians. FB is currently in studio working on her forth coming album under her “Home” recording company, Base 08 where she is currently signed. On the album she worked with the likes of Byron Keno and more. So already you can tell that it is going to be an epic album. I personally had a chance to taste the song titled holiday where she was doing her thing with Byron Keno and after that I really felt like I needed a holiday and get away. It really is not easy to stick to a song from the start to the end unless it is really a nice one. But hey, this girl will keep you glued to the speaker for long.

‘‘She loves meeting new people and enjoy going out from time to time and she also enjoys the fun things’’ At a tender age of only 24 years, Moliehi ‘‘Didie’’ Makobane had already achieved what most of her age group fellows can only wish for. She was born in Maseru Lesotho in August 1989 and she grew up in Johannesburg with her family. Didie knew from a very young age that she was destined to be a star. She attended her high school level at the National School of Arts. She then went on to further her studies at the university of Witwatersrand commonly known as Wits University and this is where she graduated with a BA Dramatic Arts Honours degree in 2011. Her major subjects were Television studies and Theatre Directing. She also completed her research project in Project and Production Development in her final year of study.
In 2011,she shot her first on-screen performance on Ekasi Our Stories, (Abafelokazi), where she was the supporting lead role and played Pearl. In the beginning of 2012 she worked at an events company (Corporate Icons)as a PA and entertainment coordinator and after being there for almost two months, she decided to work on a part time basis as she had her own dreams and passions that she wanted to bring to life. It is then that she plucked up the courage to direct her first play called, Us- a room full of women. The play deals with stereotypes and myths that are associated with femininity in a South African context and it also tackles socio-political issues 16 May 2013
Cover Story in a fun and light hearted manner. The play showed in May 2012 at the Wits Theatre Loading Bay during the WALE 5.0 Festival and again on the 3rd and 4th of August 2012. It had a successful four day run from the 23rd-26th of August 2012 at POPArt (Arts on Main) for their Woman’s Festival and was also part of the “In Celebration of Women” project that took place at the Joburg Theatre (Space.com) from 10th – 12th August. She has ever since then done a couple of Television appearances on Etv’s Mzansi Love six part series, as the lead in Uncovered, Inkaba and she is also on SABC 1’s Intersexions II . Apart from her love for the arts, she also enjoys the fun things in life and most importantly the valuable people around to share them with. She loves meeting new people and enjoy going out from time to time.
She leads a very spontaneous life and is therefore constantly trying out new things and striving to enjoy life to the fullest. She has learnt the importance of networking and hardly spends time indoors, unless taking a break or doing research on her new interests.

The importance of your Stage name as a DJ!!! What has the music industry done to our youth, That’s the question I asked myself today as I was busy doing my daily social media chores , yeah it’s not a secret I am a self confessed addict. So I am busy browsing my facebook news feed , I literally saw what to me as an individual who has been involved a lot in the music industry call a night mare . I came across profiles with names like DJ Hot Stove, DJ Condom, DJ Mageza, just to mention a few and then there were those who simple copy cat other people‘s names. I mean like really stealing a name, I can understand calling yourself Themba, Bheki and tshepo, but going as far as calling yourself White Coffee, Mzala Wa Afrika is just too much. I might sound like a hater / broken record or simply just making a whining noise but the point I am trying to point out is that every single person has been fortunate enough to be given a brain to think , so a little creativity wouldn’t hurt from all the wanna be DJ’s and Artists . I mean to be successful in the music industry, constant creativity must be 18 May 2013

applied, and you don’t just wake up one day and call yourself a DJ. If you’re serious about your this thing, you will make an effort into your stage name and actually going out to acquire the skills, although not many of today’s DJs acquire the skill but that’s a topic for a different day. Today I just want to share my 2 cent‘s worth of advice to every passionate soul out there who wishes to enter the music industry and actually succeed. Ever heard the saying that if you throw a rock in a crowd of people, chances are that rock will hit a DJ. The statement can be contested but to some level it’s true but the point to it is that a lot competition exists and the only way to beat it is to think like there is no box at all. A name is as important as the talent you possess, you might be as talented as black coffee but if you still call yourself DJ Hot Stove, you’re likely not to be taken seriously. Imagine you got a gig in a club, and I got to tell my female friends, the type that dress the part for a night out “That classy hot look”, then I go like yoh guys did you hear that there’s DJ Hot plate in the Loop Night Club tonight. On a serious note, total turn off. When choosing a name, choose something
@ Nollan_Teey‘s
that will appeal to your target audience, something catchy that will stay in people‘s lips when they first hear about you. Let’s take a look at a name that I think resembles what I am talking about: Brazo wa Afrika, The name is unique, catchy and appeals to a broad audience. What do you think made brazo this popular so quick, well my take is talent combined with a good brand name .and yeah as an artist you must look at yourself as a brand, again another topic on its own. Most Consumer buy products based on popularity and trust of the brand, so for example a chocolate brand called xatafi chocolate, obviously won’t be bought by the average consumer as you can clearly tell that it sounds fake, same concept applies for DJs and artists. I think I have bubbled enough by now and should leave you with this to think about, give it some thought and see if I’m making sense or just talking a lot of male cattle faeces. I Hope my 2 cents worth of advice will make you wiser and wiser. Until next time stay cool.
