Dia De Los Muertos is a widely observed holiday by Mexico and people of Mexican heritage. The holiday is a joyful celebration in remembrance of those who have passed on. At the Springs Preserve Event, families decorated sugar skulls, told stories about their loved ones, and feasted on yummy snacks!
Eileen Disbennett(9): I really liked the skull signing because I could help families respect one of their loved ones who had passed away.
Mahealani Kerr(12): I loved the skull signing station. It moved me seeing the amount of love and care people had for their culture.
Sabrina Phillips(9): I greeted people coming into the event. I liked seeing so many people and getting out of my comfort zone
Asher Kay(9): I gave flowers to people entering and told them about the event. I loved working with a team and talking to visitors.
RTC(Regional Training Conference) is an annual event by Key Club. At RTC Zombie Penguins, Key Clubs from schools across the Las Vegas valley meet to have cheer-offs, do workshops, and raise Key Club spirit. This year, RTC took place on Saturday, October 29th at Green Valley High School from 8am - 8pm, so we had lots of fun all day long!
Ella Graham(10): Overall, RTC was a very positive experience for me. I loved the Vice President workshop and I am very excited for fall rally.
Sabrina Phillips(9): RTC was so much fun. My favorite part of RTC was the lei-making workshop and the cheer-off. I can’t wait for fall rally!
David Mayo(11): RTC was like a family reunion. I felt very comfortable even though I didn’t know who anyone was. I liked getting hype and meeting new people.
Kai Fujii(9): I loved how RTC was a very high energy event and how everyone showed their spirit. I really enjoyed the dog toy workshop because I love dogs.
