Summer Reading Program A Universe of Stories Summer Reading Program June 3 - July 31 The Roswell Public Library Summer Reading Program kicks-off Monday, June 3rd and is open to all ages! Those who participate earn prizes every week for fulfilling goals by reading and listening to books. Other materials count towards reading goals such as audio books, magazines, graphic novels, and downloadable material. Visit the children’s area to get started and receive all of the information you need to start tracking your reading.
There is no cost to participate and all programs are held at the library. Due to space and supply limitations, groups with 5 or more children should contact Trish or Crystal in the Children’s department at least two weeks in advance so accommodations can be made.
The Roswell Public Library Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Friends of the Roswell Public Library and the Roswell Library Foundation.

Art Camps Art Camps: Adventures in Art Art Camps offer hands-on learning experiences with a wide variety of art materials and techniques. Camps are five days, Monday through Friday. Full day camps include 4 classes and are for grades 1 through 8. Half day camps for pre-K and Kindergarten include 2 classes. Fee includes all materials unless noted, snacks and a summer camp t-shirt. Class 2: Super Story Tellers Draw, paint and build a puppet theater. Class 3: Music Makers Make instruments and have a jam session. Class 4: Eco Art Create art from nature and recycled materials.

Class 3: Time Travelers Explore art history and create futuristic art. Class 4: Junk to Gems Use recycled materials to make art. June 24-28 | Grades 6-8 Class 1: Clay Creation Handbuild clay storyteller figures. Class 2: e-SCAPE! Use mixed media to sculpt landscapes. Class 3: Wearable Art Make/Decorate jewelry, costumes and clothing. (Bring t-shirts and canvas shoes.) Class 4: Printmaker’s Studio Explore multiple printmaking techniques.
Summer Clay Classes Adult Clay: Summer Open Studio June 1 - September 6 $105 members; $130 non-members Current adult clay students may continue their explorations during regular hours when children’s classes are not in session.
Throwing on the Wheel Instructor: Aria Finch | Age: 11 years to teen June 10-14 and June 17 and 21, 10:30 am - 12 pm $65 members; $75 non-members Make thrown bowls and cups with inventive surfaces. Previous clay class at RMAC required.
Planetarium Programming Planetarium Shows From June 1 - August 3, the Robert H. Goddard Planetarium offers planetarium shows Tuesdays at 7 pm and Wednesday through Saturday at 2 and 3:30 pm. Shows are free for museum members and $3 - $5 for all others. Check website for details.
UFO Festival Laser Shows During the UFO Festival, July 5-7, the Planetarium presents laser shows accompanied by popular music from the Beatles and Country to Metallica and Pink Floyd. Fees are $5 - $10. Check website for details.
Space Camp This stellar program is your ticket to the stars! Space Camps are three days, Tuesday-Thursday, and are for grades 3-6. Learn about astronomy and build and launch your own Estes rocket. Preskool Kritter Program
ZooKeeper Talks Spring River Zoo Keeper Talks will take place the 2nd Saturday of every month at 1:30 pm.
In the Spring River Zoo Preskool Kritter Program a member of the zoo staff will read a book to the children, introduce them to an animal and help with a craft that will include the featured animal. 45-minute program. Fee is $5 per child. Parents must be present for the child to attend.
