The truth is the rug that can’t be yanked, the dirt beneath the ground floor. That is the only place to begin laying the foundation for a sound structure.
Product/Service Information
To this end we support journalists’ efforts to expose the truth, free of the debris and clutter of propaganda and corporate self-interest. Free of judgment and prejudice towards innocent peoples, Israeli or Palestinian, Arab or Jew, caught in a torrent of greed and struggle for power. Our goal is to always present the truth by delving beneath the layers shrouding it. To never silence our voices; speaking out through art, photography, music, and the written word. To always stand for what is right and just. And to support financially, spiritually, morally, those journalists who courageously place themselves on the front lines. ~artists to end the occupation "I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it." ~Dwight D. Eisenhower PMB 211 10002 Aurora Ave N, Ste 36 Seattle, WA 98133
"Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind… War will exist until that distant day when the conscientious objector enjoys the same reputation and prestige that the warrior does today.” ~John F. Kennedy
A collective of artists, musicians, and writers standing against the occupation.
Our vision is to fund one ICAHD journalist each year in Palestine/Israel. Proceeds for the year will go directly to the efforts of this photojournalist, all remaining funds will be donated to a Gaza relief aid organization at the end of the year.
Jason C. Elkins currently resides in Seattle, WA. He has been selected for a volunteer internship with ICAHD, Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions. His original goal was to use his construction and masonry experience to rebuild homes in Palestine/Israel and instead was offered the opportunity to utilize his skill in photography to document and expose human rights abuses. His materials and documentation will be used to develop advocacy, support, grass-roots organizing, and alliances for like communities in the Pacific Northwest. His focus will be on common people such as the Palestinian dockworkers, fisherman, grape-growers, farmers, doctors, peace activists (Palestinian and Israeli), and the every day life in Hebron, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.
ICAHD is a non-violent, direct-action group originally established to oppose and resist Israeli demolition of Palestinian houses in the Occupied Territories. As their activists gained direct knowledge of the brutalities of the Occupation, they expanded their resistance activities to other areas - land expropriation, settlement expansion, by-pass road construction, policies of "closure" and "separation," the wholesale uprooting of fruit and olive trees and more. ICAHD is comprised of members of many Israeli peace and human rights organizations. All of their work in the Occupied Territories is closely coordinated with local Palestinian organizations.
