2. The Speakers You Respect. The Issues of the Day.

World ATM Congress leverages its unique network to develop a programme that is both stimulating and thoughtprovoking. The Conference Programme provides a unique platform for discussing the future of air traffic by bringing together the world’s foremost aviation leaders to share their insights, views, and expertise on the priority issues and challenges facing our industry. 3. Experience Madrid: Leisure, Accommodations, and More

World ATM Congress will be a true celebration – taking a note from its location of Madrid, Spain’s capital city and the European Union’s third largest. The significance of such is wide-ranging, as multiple implications have molded the city’s singular personality. The diversity of Madrid’s neighborhoods and buildings informs the city’s role in political and economic spheres. And its historic monuments stand as icons of a city which has wielded administrative power for more than four centuries. Madrid is not only a beautiful city filled with cafés and terraces; you will

also find some of the world’s most exciting museums in what is called the Triangle of Art. World ATM Congress has established several hotel room blocks throughout the city, specifically to fit attendee and exhibitor needs for location and nearby attractions. World ATM Congress staff are ready to help organise meetings in Madrid as well, including but not limited to: the venue (in a hotel or special location), catering, audiovisual requirements, business lunches, informal dinners, and more. To take advantage of the most Madrid has to offer, World ATM Congress staff will also organise leisure activities for those who want to explore Madrid during the event! Activities will include tours, museum visits, dinners, and activities in the city such as football matches, flamenco shows, and tapas tours. AIM International, the official show management company of World ATM Congress, would be pleased to help organise trips to nearby Spanish cities such as Sevilla, Granada, Barcelona, and Toledo. If you are interested, email worldatmcongress@aimspain.es.

Industry Talk What Stakeholders are Saying… “During the show, we signed six new European clients who would like to explore new business in the United States. World ATM Congress is the beginning of growth to a new client base and will bring new technology to the FAA. It will also expand our knowledge of European ATM.” - Steve Kalish, Deep Water Point What Exhibitors are Saying… “From the product vendor’s point of view, this was a wonderful triumph. The key is that because this conference is supported by the Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), it’s a great meeting place for both the customer and the vendor. I met at least 12 representatives from ANSPs in one day — England, Germany, France, Romania, Poland — both big and little guys. This was the perfect venue for our new product release [VCS21].” - Bob Coulson, Harris Corporation “As an exhibitor for the first time at World ATM Congress 2013, we were concerned we would not have enough customer flow, but we were pleasantly surprised — we had numerous foreign ANSPs visit our stand. We had many productive meetings; we will definitely plan to return. How could you not like the weather, the food, and the people?” - David Colangelo, C Speed ATCA Bulletin  |  November 2013

ATCA’s Young Aviation Professionals Tour Cessna

A

TCA’s Young Aviation Professionals (YAP) toured the Cessna manufacturing facilities in Wichita, Kan., November 18, 2013, and received a first-hand look at the design and production of Citation aircraft. The tour marked the first YAP event outside of the Washington, D.C. area since the group started in 2012. Eight young professionals were invited to participate on the tour from five different companies: Architecture Technology Corporation, Evans Incorporated, Lockheed Martin Corporation, SELEX Systems Integration Inc, and Thales. Frank Bartonek and Randal Atkeisson of Cessna took the group through a detailed tour of their operations, starting on the plant floor, where two Cessna Citation aircraft were under construction. Following lunch at the cafeteria, the group climbed inside a Citation Mustang and Latitude in the display area. “I’d buy one,” joked Sarah Bates, SELEX Systems Integration, as she climbed out of the Latitude. ATCA ran a raffle at the YAP Annual Rooftop Networking event, and three young professionals received paid airfare to fly from Washington, D.C. to Wichita, Kan. Because weather delayed their flights, the young professionals were extended an opportunity to enjoy time in a Cessna aircraft during the next YAP flight event. “This year, we felt that touring the Cessna Manufacturing Facilities in Wichita, Kan. would be an ideal opportunity to expose YAP members to the aircraft and manufacturing aspects of aviation,” said Peter F. Dumont, President & CEO of ATCA. “It also opened up the group to a larger demographic outside of Washington, D.C.” ATCA’s Young Aviation Professionals is committed to fostering the next generation of aviation leaders by empowering young professionals with the knowledge, exposure, and relationships to tackle critical aviation challenges over the course of their careers. If you are interested in getting involved with YAP, please contact Paul Planzer.
