TCA would like to congratulate and welcome Retired Air Force General Edward L. Bolton, Jr. as the new Assistant Administrator for NextGen. As the FAA strengthens its management team with key appointments, it positions itself to continue with the business of NextGen. Speaking of business, ATCA is busy planning and working toward a successful 58th Annual Conference and Exposition. I am sure that as members you have seen the increase of ATCA in size, capabilities, value, and relevancy over the years. Combining the success of World ATM Congress in Madrid with the ATCA Annual and other symposia has made ATCA the organizers of the largest, most complete ATC events in the world. These are not just shows, but platforms for discussions on the issues that are important to you, ATC, and the aviation industry as a whole. We shine a light on issues that need to

be addressed and offer and debate solutions. The reason I mention this is because as ATCA multiplies in size and reach, it increases in value and benefits to you as members. By definition, an “association,” is a group of people organized for a joint purpose. As ATCA grows, so does your ability to reach out to fellow members in more varied global leadership positions. But it is not just size and growth that create value. It is also the voice your association has in the industry. Our voice must address the relevant issues in ATC. To that end, we are now speaking with experts regarding the advocacy and government affairs role ATCA will have moving forward. ATCA must position itself to represent its members at the tip of the spear on important relevant issues relating to our industry. As this effort matures I will keep you up to speed and will seek volunteers. I look forward to seeing you all at the ATCA 58th Annual Conference and Exposition in October.
