AUTOMOTIVE LEG OF FUTURE:GAS 2023 APPROACHING FAST

The automotive section of the tour will be held across July, August and September

Several automotive industry bodies have pledged their support for the 2023 future:gas refrigerant seminar roadshow, with MTA SA/NT, MTA WA and VACC joining the AAAA, TaT, SAE-A and VASA alongside Refrigerants Australia, Refrigerant Reclaim Australia and the Australian Refrigeration Council in helping organise, fund and promote this important industry-led education initiative. Corporate sponsorship from Opteon, Alcius, NAPA Auto Parts and Honeywell have subsidised tickets to future:gas seminars to an affordable $20 per participant, which includes complimentary food and drinks for attendees during the networking and trade show parts of the evening. In addition, Cool-Safe is the drinks sponsor for New Zealand events, which will be a hybrid format aimed at both automotive and mobile HVAC/R sectors. Eight of the HVAC industry’s top experts will deliver this year’s future:gas refrigerant seminar series, which for the automotive sector kicks off in late July aimed at businesses and technicians in the automotive air-conditioning business.

The impressive speaker line-up comprises Refrigerant Reclaim Australia General Manager, Kylie Farrelley, VASA Director and Former President, Ian Stangroome, Sythree Principal and Director, John McCormack (representing Chemours in Australia), Honeywell Representative in Australia, Eric Yang, VASA VP and Rowe Auto Electrical/Jimboomba Batteries Director, Mark Rowe, VASA President and SuperCool Group Training Division Manager, Brett Meads, Refrigerants Australia Executive Director, Greg Picker and A-Gas New Zealand Country Manager, Mitch Williamson.

Topics to be covered include:

• The reasons behind refrigerant changes, from environmental and energy efficiency requirements, regulatory changes and market forces plus the potential impact of PFAS laws being tabled overseas.

• A discussion of refrigerants including R1234yf, CO2 and hydrocarbons plus other new blends and technologies from several perspectives including suitable applications, retrofit potential, safety, sustainability, total cost of ownership, commercial availability, performance and handling characteristics.

• An overview of changes to tools, working practices and equipment standards.

Attendees to future:gas seminars will be among the first in Australasia to receive a comprehensive overview of new-generation refrigerants, related technologies and the reason for these changes in one knowledge-enhancing evening.

The automotive section of the tour will commence in New Zealand on July 25. To help as many people as possible to attend, the seminars will take place on weekday evenings during the winter. Doors open at 5.00pm; attendees should arrive by 5.30pm for a 6,00pm start.
