CORGHI TYRE CHANGERS

The HD500 and HD700 are two of CORGHI’s most popular tyre changers

CORGHI’s HD500 tyre changer is suitable for rim sizes up to 26” and is a universal semiautomatic tyre changer while the HD700 is an electrohydraulic type for trucks, buses, tractors and earth moving equipment with groove or elastic ring type rims.

As expected, HD stands for heavy duty and both machines are just that however, the 500 series machine is smaller and lighter than the 700. The HD500 has integrated controls and a smaller bead breaker while the HD700 is a physically larger machine with a separate control unit which can be moved around while the machine is being used and a larger bead breaker.

CORGHI says its HD500 is one of the most popular tyre changing machines in both the US and Europe for good reason.

It explains this semi-automatic changer is compact and easy to use, which makes tyre changing quicker and safer as the position of the tools makes mounting and demounting easier. It can manage rim sizes of up to 26” in diameter and thanks to seven different clamping methods it is simple to clamp any wheel from 14” to 26”. A new gear unit specially designed for heavy duty use offers excellent wheel rotation speeds of nine rpm.

Alongside the new gear unit is a new control console that keeps hydraulic pipes and electrical cables separate and is adjustable to allow you to choose whether to use it at standard working height or to raise it.

All this is mounted on a sturdy reinforced frame which is designed for working with heavy wheels. CORGHI’s HD700 is capable of handling wheels weighing up to 700kg with a turntable spindle made to suit clamping rim sizes from 14” to 26” with clockwise and anticlockwise rotation. Being an electrohydraulic tyre changer means it offers the operator exceptionally smooth and accurate delivery of force, plus its ergonomic controls makes it comfortable to use, says CORGHI.

The control unit, which can be moved around to suit the operator, features a joystick, pedals, plus the controls that open and close the jaws.

The HD700’s adjustable carriage allows for varying wheel sizes and a bead breaking head that swivels and locks according to which side of the tyre the bead is being broken. There are snap on aluminium protectors for alloy wheels available. CORGHI is a manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of tyre related equipment including tyre changers, wheel balancers and aligners specifically designed for motorbikes, cars, 4WDs, trucks, bus and agricultural equipment. The company also has a range of hoists and test equipment such as the ADAS calibration system, exhaust gas analysers, brake, suspension, headlight and speed testers.
