JAS OCEANIA CUSTOMER TRAINING PROGRAM GROWS
JAS Oceania’s auto electrical diagnostics and parts/equipment training has grown significantly since the program was officially launched at the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Expo in April 2022. Industry specific training programs have been designed and conducted by JAS Oceania, which says it is one of Australia’s last true auto electrical specialists in the market, taking advantage of the training team’s more than 85 years of auto electrical industry experience. JAS Oceania hosted a Certificate II Air Conditioning training course at its dedicated Adelaide training facility in August 2022, resulting in the first 13 of many more industry professionals receiving their Cert II and AC Licence from the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC). The JAS Oceania Training Team also enlisted the services of the country’s most renowned and experienced air conditioning trainer, Grant Hand, to conduct this highly specialised training course. This successful training program builds on the foundations of the services to the industry that JAS Oceania is providing to best assist its customers to deal with the constant technological, operational, and regulatory developments that are evolving with vehicle modernisation. The JAS Oceania training team says it has set some very specific objectives to best service auto electricians and the general automotive aftermarket industry. These include providing continued development of industry-specialised courses and support for its trade customers. JAS Oceania reports this also helps the company give something very important back to the industry that has supported its continual growth so strongly. A key goal for the company is to develop the JAS Oceania training service to be able to provide industry-recognised qualifications, in conjunction with leading industry specialists. “Our core focus is to ultimately provide added support to our customers and to keep them informed of technical changes and updates in the industry,” JAS Oceania Group Training Manager, Mark Bailey, said. “With the constant technological development in vehicles, JAS has always recognised the importance of training to best support what customers are facing in the field. The development of the JAS Technical Training team has grown from an internal development to become a unique service to assist our valued customers,” Mark said. “Following the success of our recent air conditioning training course, the intention is to conduct more of these three-day courses nationally. This is something we are actively working on.” JAS Oceania is an integral part of Bapcor Limited, Australasia’s largest automotive aftermarket specialised company. There are 37 JAS Oceania branches nationwide employing more than 200 staff, servicing the auto electrical requirements of repairers, mining companies, contractors, government departments and local councils. RISK PROTECTION FOR AUTOMOTIVE BUSINESSES
Australasia’s largest automotive cooperative, Capricorn, has been a part of the Australian and New Zealand automotive repair industry for almost five decades. In addition to the Trade Account, Travel, Capricorn Service Data and more, Capricorn explains that becoming a Capricorn Member also makes you eligible to become a Member of Capricorn Mutual, a mutual offering risk protection for automotive businesses. “Having been involved exclusively in the automotive aftermarket industry for decades, we do have a far better understanding of the risk protection cover that our Members need,” Capricorn Risk Services Chief Executive Officer, Jim Glossat, said. “This has enabled us to structure custom made protection that ensures the strongest possible cover when it is needed.” Designed exclusively to meet the unique needs of automotive businesses, Capricorn Mutual offers a range of risk protection options to cover all requirements. Capricorn says general business, equipment and personal insurance products found in the market are very general and do not consider the intricacies of the automotive repair industry. Few businesses require the constant upgrading of equipment and technology needed to remain competitive, compared with today’s automotive repair and service industry. Capricorn Mutual says its exclusive nature means it also puts Members first. “Being a Mutual, whereby Capricorn Members are the owners of the business as well as its customers, means that we can focus solely on our purpose, which is to support our Members in their greatest times of need, without having to worry about external investors wanting their share of the profits,” Jim said. “Any profits earned are invested back into the business in the form of additional products and improved pricing to ensure our Mutual provides a product that Capricorn Members need at a highly competitive price.” An additional benefit for Capricorn’s 25,000 plus Members is that all payments for CML protection are made through the Capricorn Trade Account, thereby earning Rewards Points.
