NEW SMART WORKSHOP TOOLS

From Harding Performance

Harding Performance has teamed with MAGICMOTORSPORT to bring you a new range of workshop ECU/TCU cloning and programming tools. In the European electronic performance field for over 23 years, Harding Performance says it has supported over a hundred dealers to provide dealership alternatives to workshops.

In 2021 it has teamed up with MAGICMOTORSPORT of Italy to distribute and support its new range of FLEX hardware and software. Harding Performance says the FLEX tool has the ability to clone many of the current engine and transmission control units, including securitycoded units that would normally require a genuine dealer visit.

With FLEX in your workshop, Harding Performance says you have the ability to bring that revenue inhouse, and attract new customers, both in trade and retail. The tool also has the capabilities to deliver factory software updates to many types of control modules. Finally, Harding Performance says the tool gives you access to a huge range of tuning software, engine and transmission upgrades, with thousands of files available and certified through its tech centre. The product is supplied and supported from Harding Performance’s facility in Brisbane, and it says it has tech staff available on 1300 730 949. For more information, visit www.hp.net.au

PEDDERS ENJOYS BREAK THROUGH SUPERCAR SPONSORSHIP

The suspension and brakes company backed Erebus and Will Brown in Townsville

Erebus Motorsport brought the virtual world to reality when it hit the streets of North Queensland for the Townsville 500. At the event Will Brown’s Holden carried the same colours Pedders Suspension and Brakes Managing Director Scott Pedder donned when he drove to victory in the 2014 Australian Rally Car Championship, and then again in last year’s Supercars Eseries celebrity race. Scott claimed victory in the virtual event and the winning livery was then recreated with Will Brown’s #9 Erebus Motorsport Holden Commodore in Townsville. “Pedders has a rich history in motorsport and performance that now spans more than 70 years,” Scott said. “For many of those years we’ve been involved in the Supercars Championship, but Townsville represented the first time our very own Supercar ran with our own livery, as we backed young gun Will Brown through our existing partnership with Erebus Motorsport. “We debuted a Pedders Supercar during the Supercars Eseries last year and it was only right that we brought it to life. “It was also great to be able to share this milestone with a few other partners that we work closely with, including Hayman Reese, Atomic Batteries, Humm and RBE, and in particular our great Townville Pedders franchisee Peter Theofanes.” Those brands all featured across the predominantly red and white livery, while the iconic Pedders Suspension and Brakes branding took pride of place on the bonnet, windscreen banner and car sides. “I was so pleased to see our Pedders Suspension and Brakes livery go from virtual to reality,” Pedders Senior Executive of Brand and Marketing, Adam Gillick, said. “Motorsport is a big part of our DNA at Pedders, and we were so proud to finally have our own Supercar to celebrate the event in Townsville with our long-term franchisee Peter Theofanes. “I’d like to take this opportunity to also thank the team at Erebus and Luke Wilson from RBE who were both instrumental in formulating the finer details of this amazing commercial partnership. To all of our sponsors that came on board, we thank you for your support in this journey.” The livery was a familiar one to Will, who ran a similar design as a wildcard in last year’s Supercars All Stars Eseries finale. “It’s exciting to have such an awesome brand like Pedders on the car,” Will said at the livery launch. “I’ve been lucky enough to get to know the team at Pedders pretty well over the past year; they’re an awesome group.” Erebus Chief Executive Officer, Barry Ryan, said he is eager to expand on the existing partnership with Pedders after the two brands joined forces at the beginning of 2020. “I grew up with Pedders being the brand you used to make your car faster and I personally love seeing this come to life,” Barry said. “Scott (Pedder) is extremely passionate about the motorsport industry which is really beneficial to our relationship. He and his company are the perfect fit for our team.” Pedders Suspension and Brakes is also creating a limited-edition model of the car which ran in Townsville, which will be available to the public in Pedders stores across Australia. NEW TOP FUEL SERIES CALENDAR ANNOUNCED

The organisers of Summernats will promote Australia’s newest drag racing show

Australia’s Top Fuel teams have launched the new Australian Top Fuel Championship. The new national series will include Victoria and Western Australia for the first time in years and will feature the four current Australian Top Fuel teams. Jim Read Racing, Lamattina Top Fuel Racing, PremiAir Racing, and Rapisarda Autosport International have all committed to the new championship. The event’s calendar has recently been finalised with the Australian Top Fuel Championship including six races across four states and territories in 2022, with at least six Top Fuel cars planning to race at each round. With the first round scheduled for January 2022, and the Grand Final locked away in June, drag racing fans around Australia will be treated to six months of nitro burning action. The series will have a massive focus on fan engagement, giving spectators unprecedented access to the teams, the drivers, the cars, and all the action in the pits. Promoting the Australian Top Fuel Championship are Nathan Prendergast of Ignition Productions and Andy Lopez of Out There Productions, the promoters of the famous Summernats. Both have extensive experience in delivering motorsport festival events. “It’s exciting. More cars, more racing, more tracks, and more fans. Aussie drag racing fans can get access to top quality racing no matter what track they’re close to, whether that’s at our new Australian Top Fuel Championship, the ANDRA Australian Drag Racing Championship, 400 Thunder, or any number of other great events,” Andy said. “Other auto shows I’m involved in like Summernats, Red CentreNATS and Rockynats have become iconic events because of their festival atmosphere. We want to see Australian Top Fuel drag racing become just as much of a must-go event.” Top line team owners and drivers are excited to be a part of the new series. “Lamattina Racing is excited to be hitting more tracks with a full field of Top Fuel racers,” Phil Lamattina said. Peter Xiberras of PremiAir Racing added, “each round of the national series will be exciting and engaging so we can get more fans through the gates to watch Top Fuel race with other quality brackets.” “Victorian and WA fans have been wanting Top Fuel championship events, so it’s great to add these regions to the mix,” said Rapisarda Autosport International’s Santino Rapisarda. The Australian Top Fuel Championship will include three brand new events, and the remaining three races will be partnerships with existing series. The Championship will not be running alongside 400 Thunder in 2022. “We want to thank the 400 Thunder series for the last few years. Even though we’re not part of 400 Thunder in 2022, we encourage fans to continue supporting them,” Jim Read Racing’s Bruce Read said. This exciting new series can only help grow the popularity of drag racing and encourage fans across Australia to support their local track and attend as many events as possible.
