This poem by William Wordsworth is one of my favourite poems, I have revisited the poem a few times in last couple of months, especially when I am gardening. The COVID-19 pandemic has turned our regular lives upside down, but on the other hand it has given all of us an opportunity to reconnect with ‘ourselves’, the real us. Social media is abuzz with new things people are learning and how they have found another dimension of themselves, something they did not even know existed. In this issue of AAARZU, which is my first issue, we bring to you some interesting articles, interviews that focus on home décor and gardening. Our cover story features the home of one of the leading community member and a very successful business personality, turn to page 10 to read! Connect 91.5 FM The new radio station that is riding the radio waves!

I

n early 1930s when commercial radio began in Canada, nobody could have predicted it will be a roaring success in our vast country. For many decades now, radio has been the goto mass communication medium for Canadians connecting people, places, and experiences. Over the years it has evolved and become a platform offering wide range of programming from news, music, entertainment, to a platform where common Canadians can share ideas, and opinions. It is a creative medium that showcases talent and aspirations of Canadians. Radio represents the multilingual, multicultural, and multiracial Canadian society effectively. We spoke with Tejinder Singh, Director, Strategy & Operations at Connect 95.1 FM about the new radio station, its vision and program lineup.

Q. The Connect 91.5 FM logo is very interesting. Tell us more about the colorful rings around the logo. Connect FM has five key action-based principles that ensures that our vision becomes the reality. These five principles are: Promoting, Reflecting, Fostering, Engaging, Strengthening. In Connect FM logo, we have 5 threads that represent these principles connecting in a solid dot, representing the record sign from old music players. Colours from traditional folk phulkari are used on these threads. Q. What are the core values of Connect91.5 FM? Our core values are entertainment, education and empathy. People turn on the radio to enrich their day with songs and content that is entertaining. Before the launch, Connect 95.1 FM worked with a large base of our potential listeners over period of 8

weeks to discuss, analysis, and finalize the choice of music that will be played on the station. These sessions helped us create guiding principles for our core value of entertaining. People are always curious and keen to learn about events and things happening around them. On daily basis new immigrants are joining the ever-growing and established community. Educating our listeners regarding settlement, government policies, resources is vital and essential part of our programming. Caring about the thoughts and feeling of the listeners helps us in building content around our community rather than traditional top-down flow of information. Our third core value of empathy guides our team to constantly work very closely with the community and bring stories to them in a unique way.

WHAT'S NEW IN THE CITY

Q. What is new or different about Connect 91.5 FM? Connect FM has vision of positioning itself as a mixed-media company that strives to become a connective tissue bringing the South Asian community together. While bringing relevant content to 40+ listener base, Connect FM is building up its footprint among 18-40 age listener base who has not been connected with radio. Content is produced and placed uniquely in many ways, on-air and on-line. From music to long-format talk shows, Connect FM’s approach in presentation and participation is unique and the community is just loving it. www.connectfm.ca adds another dimension to news on ethnic media platform. Users are revisiting the website for local, provincial, federal Canadian news. There is a special section dedicated for International and India news. Best part is that news on the site is available not only in English but also in Punjabi. Punjabi translations are not machine done. We have a dedicated team of talented journalists who are doing these translations. Q. What do you have to say to those people who have not yet tuned into Connect 91.5 FM? Connect FM presents programming to our new listeners in different areas. Radio features, short stories, music shows, amateur sports shows, women programs, and talk shows both in Punjabi and English are designed to keep our existing and new listeners engaged and entertained. Hourly live news program keep our listeners updated on latest happening and events. We also keep listeners engaged with daily contests.

Sver Wala Show has many interesting topics for our listeners that hit hard at the current political discourses both in North America and Indian sub-continent. News Takeaway and Tweetan Trump Diyan, Khabarnama with Baltej Pannu are some of the segments that listeners are in love with.

Our well followed music shows are hosted by some of the best known RJs in Radio Industry, namely – Harv Punni, Girish Sharma, Garima Sharma, Yasmin Gandham, Jasmine Singh, Aditi & Manpal Rana. Our News Director, Vasu Kumar is leading our news team of seasoned journalist Pervez Sandhu and Jawad Siddiqui.

Punjabi Akhara, Gane Suhane, Dupher Wala Show, Punjabi Chartbusters, Bollywood Chartbusters bring a balanced mixed of great music and long format talk show.

Q. In our conversation, you mentioned various program formats you have introduced in-line with the core values of Connect FM. Please elaborate a little more on these. We are positioning programming that intrigues and engages our Youth both in talk shows and music programs. Already, young achievers, social influencers, community workers and story tellers are part of our on-air and online programs.

Each evening, starting 7pm, Connect FM airs dedicated English language ethnic focused programming in both long format talk show. Various ministers, MLAs, community leaders, social workers, financial advisers, and achievers have already been part of our The Evening Round Up Show. Yasmin Gandham is bringing on-air fresh, young, South Asian editorial voice with wide gamut of topics ranging from political to community issues. The Mixed-Tape follows The Evening Round-Up Show with Manpal Rana, a great community worker and avid music lover, bringing his playlists that mimics our listeners online media platform playlists…blending Punjabi, Hindi and English music program. Q. Some very well-known radio and media personalities are part of the team, please elaborate. We have a group of wonderful talented individuals who share our vision and mission. n

Vijay Saini is our morning show host and producer for Sver Wala Show. Tarannum Thind and Yasmin Gandham are leading our afternoon and evening show – Dupher Wala Show and The Evening Show respectively.

In our shows, we bring quality produced short stories from Canadian and Indian Punjabi writers. Not only we are bringing Punjabi literature to our listeners through audio format we also bring the underlying questions, plots, characters and their challenges to our listeners. On Connect FM, listeners can always tune in for great music complemented with engaging contests where our listeners win wonderful prizes. For local artists, Connect FM is the place to go. Connect FM provides on-air platform for their recordings as well bring local artists stories to the listeners. Additionally, Connect FM will contribute $100,000 each year in our community for music and journalism scholarships, local artists and poet recordings and multi-cultural festival.

LIVABLE LUXURY MAKING A HOME FROM A HOUSE

Balraj Mann and Jasbir Mann opened their home to Aaarzu Magazine and shared their heartfelt joy about their home with us.

T

he sprawling home is built on the three acres of land surrounded by seven acres of farmland. Located on the 16th Avenue and 242 street in Langley, the house stands out on the horizon. Balraj and Jasbir met in 1982 and got married in 1988. They both have always liked California style homes, also known as the Mediterranean style, and therefore built their home in the same architectural style. Mediterranean building style is a derivative of the western way of American living where wide-open connected spaces following the Mediterranean floor plan promote informal living style. Just like in the Mediterranean style, this house has the clay roof and stucco exteriors, and the spacious outdoors. Balraj Singh Mann, Chairman and CEO of BM Group of companies, is a well-known community member. He spearheads the diverse portfolio of BM group consisting of structural restoration, waterproofing, construction management, material supply, and real estate related businesses. 10

As you pass the gate, the driveway opens and leads to a huge solid wood main door. On our arrival Balraj welcomed us; we stepped into the open and bright spacious room with high ceiling. Sunlight from behind the clouds reflected upon the furniture through the big windows overlooking the tree-lined yard. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, and we were invited into the family room, this room too has lots of windows. It has coffered ceiling with clear western cedar finish, and the same style is seen

Balraj says, “We build custom and spec. homes and apartments. Our mission is to build efficient spaces which have light, openness and feel like a place to raise your family, and we have applied the same concept to our home.”

in some other rooms; it is exquisite. The family room opens into the back patio which has an outdoor kitchen and creates a seamless transition between the inside and the outside. The house is one of the best examples of harmony between indoor-outdoor living spaces and makes it fit for hosting large crowds almost up to 400. A unique thing about the house is all the windows are south facing, so there is lots of light in both summers and winters.

He says, “My hobby was to collect house plans, and then the hobby turned into a profession. I made my first blueprint when I was 17. Earlier, we used to live in Surrey as a joint family, but then as the family grew and children grew older, we needed more space, so we started building this house and moved here in 2012.” Balraj adds, “In India, I had grown up on a farm and have an affinity for open green spaces, and this place reminds me of that. I have my office here as this is close to Seattle, it easy for me to work.” Balraj and Jasbir have three children, Michelle, Deepika and Milan. live here along with Balraj’s 91-year-old mother. Talking about the livability of the house and how it is designed to be comfortable for everyone in the family regardless of the age, Balraj says, ”Back in 1994 when my dad suffered a stroke, we had to deal with mobility issues, and at that time, I decided that when I make my home, it will have easy accessibility and mobility for all generations.” The way the home is designed, it has all the key areas on the ground level. To access the second level, you have the option of the elevator if you don’t want to take stairs. Jasbir says, “I use elevator all the time when moving household stuff from one floor to another.”

Jasbir further adds, “Yes, we have meals together and after that, everyone is free to do their own thing, Balraj and I like to hang out in the family room and watch TV. He is a big fan of Bollywood movies.” The master bedroom is spacious, and it has similar ceiling as the family room. Jasbir says, "I like simple open spaces. Bedroom is also very functional; the mini bar, the coffee maker, and the connected outdoor pool make it an ideal place to relax and unwind after a long day." Children have their rooms upstairs; it gives them privacy and

independence they want. The theatre room is also on the second floor and has a popcorn bar! Each room reflects the personality of the children. The blue trunk in Michelle’s room, the painting in Deepika’s room, drawn by her, the Kobe poster in Milan’s room showcase the unique personalities of all three; but one thing is common all the rooms are functional.


The children have for sure inherited the simplicity of their parents. They are grounded, hardworking, and do not take the luxury lifestyle for granted. They are involved in community work, and even have a non-profit called 'We The Team'. The color scheme of the home is traditional softer cream shade of paint; it is easy to maintain and does not impact the overall décor. The house is not overly cluttered with décor pieces. Each piece of décor has a story behind it, like the boat at the end of the living room hallway, which Balraj brought

from his trip from Cuba where he got stuck in a hurricane or the drink shooters Jasbir collects as souvenirs on all her trips. Jasbir has her kitchen garden where she grows potatoes, onions, zucchini, blueberry, and many other fruits and veggies. There is a volleyball court, a basketball court, and a tennis court on the premises. The home has an office, a guest house, and a well-equipped gym. Balraj says, “We have designed the home in a way that in many years down the line when we have grandkids, they too can enjoy here. Spend time with us and experience the pleasant life we have here in this house.” Away from city pollution, one can see bright stars in the summer nights while relaxing in the outdoor pool. The nearest neighbor has been living in the area for almost a century. Home of Balraj Singh Mann and Jasbir Mann truly reflects their personality. The self-made power couple have

raised a beautiful family together in this beautiful home. It is not a show home; it is a vibrant, cozy place where three generations are living together, where friends and family are entertained on festivals and special occasions. It is indeed a comfortable and luxurious house.

Tinder, Zoosk, Plenty of Fish, OkCupid are also very popular with a wide age range of people. OkCupid boasts of best matching algorithm and has a wide range of profiles, right from the ‘on-thego’ hookup generation to serious members who want to settle down. It allows users to view the activity stream of potential matches. Technology has indeed expanded the search pool. You may find someone in your neighborhood, city, country or even in a faraway land! Is technical love is taking the charm away? Many relationship experts believe that the urge to drop a line over the email or send a text to set up a coffee date has taken away the charm, the romance behind the long form love letters. The written expression

Remote working & home-based businesses can enhance your life By Manpreet Dhillon

I

n this world of technology, the percentage of remote workers currently in the US is 4.7 million, or 3.4% of the population, as companies realize the value of offering this as an option for their employee’s wellbeing and the bottom line. Given the current health crisis that is happening in the world, the idea of remote work and home-based businesses are on top of mind for many. Remote working either as an employee or through a homebased business can lead to multiple advantages and disadvantages. Some of the advantages/disadvantages are included below: Advantages include: • Reduced commuting time • Uninterrupted working time • Flexible hours and pace • Convenience • Balance of work/home life Disadvantages can include: • Family distractions • Insufficient workspace • Lack of workplace camaraderie • Difficult to stay motivated A few tips for working from home: • Create a schedule that works for you, your clients, and your family. It is important to have a schedule that is dedicated to focused time for your work. It should be distraction-free, in a quiet space where you can work uninterrupted, and it allows you to be productive. An ideal schedule for optimal performance can include 20 minutes of focused time on one task then a quick 1-5-minute break, followed by the same cycle. This type of focused activity is known to increase productivity. 16

Stay connected to colleagues. Working from home can create a sense of isolation and disconnect. It is very important to stay connected to colleagues since you won’t be seeing them in an office environment. Using online methods such as Slack or video/ voice chat are important ways to stay connected. If you are a solopreneur, your colleagues may be other solopreneurs or strategic partners, schedule at least a 30-minute conversation with someone else who is in a similar stage of business as you so you can have someone who understands you and gets you. Plan to work in a social space at least once a week if possible. Working in a space with other entrepreneurs or other individuals

such as a co-working or coffee shop will allow you to feel connected to the outside world. It will provide you an opportunity to meet new people, have different conversations or at the very least have a change of scenery. Working remotely as an employee or with a home-based business can be ideal for many people to accommodate all that is important to them in their lives. As long as the approach is purposeful and with intention, it can lead you to the enhancement of your life you want. OPEN LAYOUT CONCEPTS ARE THEY GOOD FENG SHUI?

R

ecently, I was asked whether an ‘Open Layout’ concept harnessed good Feng Shui energies. As always, it depends upon the circumstances; here’s my answer and why: A wall-free living space sounds good in theory as it is initially designed to foster collaboration, barrier-free communication, bonding, and effective connectedness. wap out chemically-laden, corrosive, toxic products with natural alternatives, and not only will you be making your family healthier, but you’ll also be helping the planet too. Laboratory made cleaning fumes are marketed as being able to wipe out any offending bacteria or germ, and all you need to do is take a trip down the cleaning aisle of your local supermarket to see how many different products there are to choose from. But seriously, the effects of the toxic ingredients contained within most cleaning and skincare products will astound you and worse still, the accumulation of these toxins in our bodies can lead to poor health. Widespread use of anti-bacterial cleaning products is also linked to 26

the alarming increase in allergies, and continued use of them can put you and your family at risk of accumulated toxins. If you’re wondering what goes into many store-bought cleaners, check out this shortlist of home cleaners and the toxic substances they contain: Oven Cleaners contain ingredients such as ethylene glycol, ethers, lye (sodium and potassium hydroxide), methylene chloride, and ammonia. These substances are highly corrosive to the skin and eyes, and, when inhaled, can affect internal organs. If you do use oven cleaners the best thing to do is to ensure that you are wearing heavy rubber gloves, an apron, and goggles to protect your skin from the effects.

Disinfectants contain the immunotoxicants cresol, phenol, ethanol, and formaldehyde, which reduce the ability of the immune system to fight the germs they are killing. It takes over twelve months to eliminate the toxic effects of spraying ¼ cup of disinfectant in the home. The best alternative for disinfecting is distilled vinegar and lemon. Air Fresheners release a constant amount of artificial fragrance into a room to create an intoxicating aroma. But the fragrances in all air fresheners are not only intoxicating; they can actually affect your sense of smell as they release nerve-deadening agents and leave oil build up in nasal passages. The agent which is used is known as methoxychlor, a pesticide that can accumulate in the body in the fat cells and can also over-stimulate the central nervous system, leaving you jittery and anxious. If you’re looking for a natural air freshener, why not try burning essential oils, dried spices, or citrus juices; they smell beautiful without the harmful side effects. Toilet bowl cleaners, the innocentlooking little hanging ducks contain ferocious cleaning chemicals, especially as they tend to be lodged under the bowl of the smallest room and usually an unventilated room of the house. The ingredients are typically oxalic acid, hydrochloric acid, lye (caustic soda), and naphthalene. An excellent alternative cleaner to use is baking soda and neat vinegar, which will remove stains and rings from around the toilet. Glass cleaners contain a mixture of ammonia and water. When you are cleaning away, it’s effortless to

The best solution for squeaky clean glass and windows is using distilled white vinegar and using elbow grease buff with scrunched up newspaper. Bleach contains chlorine, inhalation of it's vapours is known to be a strong irritant to the tissues in our lungs and a suspected cause of asthma and bronchitis. When laboratory workers handle it they use protective gloves, face masks, and they always make sure working areas have adequate ventilation. Even aware of the dangers doesn’t stop chlorine from being used freely in many cleaners such as laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, and hand cleaning liquids. It’s also an ingredient in our drinking water and is used in pools and spas to purify the water. The best and healthiest option to a healthy home is to use natural alternatives that do just as good a job of cleaning your home without having to look down upon withered cuticles and weak nails. Here are a few natural cleaners and their uses: Baking Soda Baking soda cleans as well as deodorizes. It can be used to scrub the film and grease off surfaces as well as furniture and carpets. If you place baking soda at the bottom of your bin, it will soak up unnecessary smells and deodorize the bin. You can also put it in a box in the refrigerator and freezer to absorb odors. Vinegar Vinegar is a fantastic all-purpose cleaner, disinfectant, and deodorizer and can be used all over the house 28

in many different areas, in particular, the bathroom and diluted as a floor cleaner. It can be used to clean the stovetop, kitchen bench, appliances, and surfaces. Use one cup of vinegar to one of water and place it into a spray bottle. It can be used neat on the toilet and on tile grout to clean. The vinegar smell will dissipate when it dries. In the laundry, vinegar can be used as a fabric softener. Lemon Juice Lemon juice is fantastic at dissolving soap scum and hard water deposits, scrubbing dishes, surfaces, and stains and can be mixed in with baking soda to create a cleaning paste. Lemon cleans brass and copper, leaving it shiny and smear-free. I like to put a lemon in the refrigerator to soak up all the smells and deodorize the

fridge. Natural products are indeed all you need to clean and sanitize your home without the toxic by-products of their chemical counterparts. The best cleaning products that are inexpensive and easy to find at your local supermarket are bicarbonate of soda, lemons, distilled white vinegar, alcohol, essential oils, and olive oil. There are also brand new organic cleaning products made from organically-grown ingredients that you can purchase from natural food and health shops which don’t contain harmful chemicals. ill now gardening has been considered as a hobby, something to do in the bright spring summer days. But during the Coronavirus pandemic, gardening has emerged as a therapeutic activity. Psychologists have been saying in their research for many years now, but it was not until the lockdown that people have realized that gardening can be emotionally helpful and rejuvenating. Gardening teaches us to be patient, to live in the moment. Sowing seed and then checking on it every day to see sign of life gives us hope. Recently, for the first time, I sowed parsley seeds 30

in a pot. For the first few days there was nothing and then one morning I noticed thin shoots coming out! I was elated to see the fruit of my little labor! A lesson I learned, gardening gives you a both sense of responsibility and satisfaction. You feel responsible for the seeds you have sowed, which can be connected to the greater spiritual meaning of karma of you reap what you sow. As humans we are nurturers, we nurture families, we build homes and businesses, we nurture our friendships and relationships and gardening helps us understand the value of nurturing relationships. we forget to breathe because we are too focused on lifting the weight. Don’t forget to breathe during your weight training. Inhale and exhale as deep as you can so that the oxygen goes into your body, breathing through the mouth during exercise helps in the maximum intake of air, keeps the body cool, and you don’t feel drained. If you are training at home, then make sets of exercises, the most common is 15 repetitions per set. You may mix and match the exercise reps based on your strength and comfort. There are many YouTube video tutorials to follow, but it is always advised to do strength training under the guidance of a professional trainer, posture, speed matter a lot, and a trainer can guide you so that you don’t injure yourself. During all the

eing able to fit into your existing clothes doesn’t mean you are ‘fit.’ I realized that when I picked up the 5 lbs weights in my first fitness class. I was sweating, breathing heavily, and felt like I am going to die in the next twenty seconds! But kept going on, class after class, and then started to see results while increasing the weights! Based on your fitness level, you can do various weight exercises to stay fit. Weight training serves the dual purpose; it helps in weight control and builds strong muscles. 42

WARM-UP IS THE KEY PLUS MONITOR YOUR BREATHING When we are motivated, we want to jump right into the action, it might be true for when you have a great idea for a book, but not for the exercise! Warm-up with five to ten minutes of aerobic exercise. Warm-up loosens the tight muscles, and you will be able to sustain through your exercise routine and lift more weight if you warm-up nicely. It is a human tendency to hold the breath when we are lifting something;

FITNESS activity, remember to breathe. Take a short breather between the sets to recover. Here are a few which you can do at home but we always advise to do them under the guidance of a professional fitness trainer. LYING CHEST FLY You can do this exercise on a bench or on floor lying on your back. If lying on your back, then make sure that hips and knees are at 90 degrees with the back. Hold weights in your hands, push your arms straight up in line with shoulder palms weights facing each other. Inhale and slowly start lowering your hands on the side, bend you your elbows a bit. If lying on the floor, you don’t have to touch the floor, and hands can be a couple of inches above the floor. If you are doing this exercise on the bench,

then continue lowering the arms till the elbows are lower than shoulders. Pause here, exhale, and slowly close your arms back to the starting position to complete one rep. Perform 10-15 reps based on your comfort. OVERHEAD TRICEPS Use lighter weights for this step if you are a beginner. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Hold a dumbbell in each hand and extend your arms overhead. Then slowly without jerking your elbow, start lowering the right dumbbell behind your neck, pause, and then raise the arm back to the starting position. Repeat with the left hand. SHOULDER PRESS This one is easy. Sit on a chair with back support and put your feet flat on the floor. Hold a dumbbell in each hand. Pick a weight that works for you. Bend your arms and bring weights close to shoulders. Make sure your

palms are facing towards the front. Start pushing the weights over your head till your arms are straight. Don’t stiffen but push the weights away from your head up. Slowly bring back the arms to the shoulder. Next step? Repeat. DUMBBELL LUNGES As the name suggests, it is a lunge but with dumbbells. This exercise is good for buttocks and thigh muscles. Stand up straight with dumbbells and then take a big step forward and bend the knee to make the thigh parallel to the ground. Rear leg is also bent. Go as far and as low as you can go without losing your balance or feeling too stressed. Then come back to standing using your legs and buttocks muscles to push yourself back and up. Complete repeats for one leg then switch leg and do the same number of repetitions. Keep your back straight and keep breathing.

Chia Pudding Chia Pudding a nutritious dish that you can eat as breakfast or as save it for just-something-to-eat time of the day!

INGREDIENTS

4 tablespoons chia seeds 1.5 cups light coconut milk or thin coconut milk or almond milk or cashew milk ( Any nut milk like almond milk, coconut milk, and cashew milk work well in the recipe.) 4 tablespoons coconut sugar or add as required ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom or ground cinnamon or ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract 1 banana - sliced, you can add your choice of fruits 3 to 4 strawberries - sliced 2 teaspoons nuts of your choice

Divide equally the chia seeds, coconut milk, coconut sugar, ground cardamom, or ground cinnamon in two glasses. Mix everything until the coconut sugar is dissolved. Break lumps, if any, with a spoon. Cover and place the glasses in the fridge for 2 hours or for some more time or overnight. After two hours or later, remove the glasses from the fridge. Stir again and break lumps, if any. The pudding would have thickened. Top with chopped fruits and nuts and serve.

W

e all know our body well, we know what we are allergic to, how weather, food, clothing material affect us. This knowledge of being aware of ourselves can help us avoid unnecessary trips to the doctor or the hospital. Many people not only self regulate their choice of food, clothing but also self medicate at home for minor ailments. Human history is replete with examples of home remedies that have been used and continued to be used to treat minor health issues. Nowadays most of us self medicate whether it is using grandmother’s home remedies to get rid of a headache, symptoms of cold and flu, or buying off-the-shelf Tylenol and Advil to treat the pains, fever, allergies, etc. Self-medication is a good way to manage your health, but it is not 'the' way. This path of self-medication can be a tricky one. Experts have often warned of misdiagnosis, overdose, drug addiction, or dangerous drug interaction. Be very cautious if you prefer to self-medicate. Seek advise of your doctor if you are already on a treatment plan but would like to pursue some self-medication for common cold, headaches, or stomach issues. Medical abuse or dependence on a drug without any regulation can cause serious ramifications for health especially when self-medicating a patient might not be aware of how a drug is affecting other body organs. Pain relievers, anti-allergies, antacids, vitamins, and minerals taken without any balanced in-take plan can lead to increased drug resistance. The most dangerous scenario is the delay in getting proper medical attention if you are self-medicating. Taking antacids to 54

fight acidity while ignoring a sinister underlying condition that is causing the frequent acid reflux condition can cause more complications in the future. Taking antibacterial drugs when you do not have a bacterial infection can create resistance to the drug, and if it is a viral infection, an antibiotic might just not work, but your symptoms might worsen. Our fast on the go meals lifestyle encourages us to have supplements, especially vitamins. Can this lead to health issues? As elders say, extreme of everything is bad. High doses of Vitamin C can cause gastrointestinal issues. Some also experience

migraines. High doses of Vitamin B3 can lead to high blood pressure and in extreme cases to liver damage. Vitamin D is good for us, but extreme doses can lead to organ damage, even the highly promoted and marketed Vitamin E can have some life-threatening side effects if taken in large doses or without a plan. So, what should you do? Self-medicate or not? Every individual must answer this question themselves. Self - medication might relieve symptoms temporarily but is not a replacement for expert medical advice. Be self-aware, be knowledgeable, and stay healthy.

icro-needling is a skin-care procedure with a name that pretty much sums up what it is and what it does. Tiny needles attached to a device that repeatedly puncture the skin during the treatment. Sounds relatively straight forward or justify the name- Isn't it! This procedure is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). MICRO-NEEDLING CAN BE USED FOR: • Wrinkles • Thin Skin Density • Hyper Pigmentation Dark Spots • Premature Aging • Epidermal Density and Strength • UV Sun Damage • Stretch Marks HOW MICRO-NEEDLING WORKS? The procedure uses a device with multiple needles that penetrate the skin's surface. HIGHLIGHTS AND BASE This is a high maintenance blonde's option. It includes full heavy foil with the base bump. Foils are placed in a diagonal pattern, concentrating around the face. Maintenance time: 4-6 weeks. HIGHLIGHTS Traditional foil highlights and low lights. Lightner or color is applied in either weaves or slices. Maintenance time: 6-8weeks. FOILAYE Combination with traditional foils and balayage, shadow root at the shampoo bowl. Foils can be done around the face for brightness as balayage highlights will give you a more gentle lift. Maintenance: 8-6 weeks. COLOR MELT Gradually melts from dark to light. In this technique as many as three colors applied at once for a gradient effect. Maintenance: 12-18 weeks.
