FELLOWS
ver the past 32 years, 448 members in the history of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry have completed its rigorous Accreditation process. The process is designed to give dental professionals the chance to learn, grow and interact with colleagues while they demonstrate their commitment to cosmetic dentistry and responsible esthetics. Accreditation requires successful completion of a written examination, multiple clinical case submissions and an oral examination. Becoming an AACD Accredited dentist or laboratory technician helps dental professionals provide better care to their patients and clients, and distinguishes their practices and labs within their communities. While becoming an Accredited member is a significant accomplishment, some continue their education by becoming an Accredited Fellow. Fellowship is the highest level of achievement available to Academy members . We warmly welcome four new members to Accredited Fellow status — Marshall W. Hanson, DDS, FAACD, Kenneth F. Dr. Hanson is an Accredited Fellow Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. His clinical work has been published in various peer reviewed journals, nationally and internationally, with a focus on modern technologies and responsible esthetics. He graduated with Honors from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2007 and currently works at Villa Dental in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Dr. Ken Hovden graduated with honors from Stanford University with a BS in Biology and BA in Political Science. He obtained his dental degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1981. Dentistry runs in the family. Ken’s sister, niece and parents are all dentists. Ken has practiced comprehensive, esthetic, restorative dentistry in the San Francisco Bay area for 36 years. Dr. Hovden has been an AACD Member for 19 years and achieved Accredited Member status in 2008. Teaching is a passion for Ken; he has been on the endodontic faculty at UOP for 36 years, and currently is a Clinical Instructor at the Kois Center. Ken completed humanitarian missions in the Dominican Republic and enjoys snow skiing and crafting wine from his small vineyard.

Dr. Peck is a third-generation dentist who practices in Cincinnati, OH. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University and completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Peck is also a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, a Kois Center graduate, Dawson Academy graduate and a mentor for Cerecdoctors.com. He is active in the Cincinnati Dental Society and has been scientific program chairman four times. Dr. Peck teaches the dental residents at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He is Chairman of Utilization Review/Quality Assurance and is on the Board of Directors of Dental Care Plus, a Cincinnati based dental insurance company. He enjoys hiking and landscape photography. Dr. Peck is married to Lauren and they have two sons, Brandon and Josh.

Dr. Todd Snyder received his doctorate at the UCLA School of Dentistry and has trained at the F.A.C.E. institute. He is an Accredited Fellow Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is a member of Catapult Education. Dr. Snyder was on the faculty at U.C.L.A. where he created and co-directed the first two-year graduate program in aesthetic and cosmetic restorative dentistry. In addition to lecturing internationally, he has authored three books and numerous articles in publications around the world. Dr. Snyder owns two software companies, is a professional race car driver, entrepreneur and maintains a practice in Laguna Niguel, CA.

Dr. Margarita Aleksanyan is the owner of Guaranteed Smiles in Littleton, Colorado where she practices general and cosmetic dentistry. Born in Armenia, and the daughter of a dentist, Dr. Aleksanyan quickly discovered that she shared her mother’s passion for dentistry. She received her Doctor of Stomatology degree in 2002 and promptly moved to the U.S. She was soon accepted to the University of Colorado where she completed her DDS in 2007 and then opened her own practice. She dedicates most of her free time to her family which includes her husband Chad, her daughter Lia, and her dog Cropsey.

Anthony Gadbois is a 2000 graduate of the University of Tennessee college of dentistry. He practices with his wife Mary in their central Missouri home town. He enjoys comprehensive cosmetic dentistry with an emphasis on orthodontics and smile design. When he is not at his practice he enjoys traveling and skiing with his family.

Dr. Carole has practiced dentistry alongside her father for over 30 years. She graduated with high honors from University of Illinois College of Dentistry. Beginning her career with a GPR at Michael Reese Hospital, she has since become active in the Chicago Dental Society, Alpha Omega International Dental fraternity, Midwest Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Illinois State Dental Society, American Dental Association, and Odontographic Society. She served these organizations in several leadership roles. Receiving “Certificate of Merit” for Alpha Omega (while chapter president) was an honor, as was delivering seminars to C.D.S. She and her husband, William Feingold, DDS, reside in Chicago and have twin daughters.

Ryan S. Lim CDT, MDC graduated in 2007 with an Associate of Science Degree in Dental Technology from LA City College. In 2009, Ryan earned his Master’s Dental Ceramist degree from the UCLA Center for Esthetic Dentistry and in 2011 graduated from the UCLA Advanced Prosthodontic Maxillofacial program. In 2015, Ryan achieved the title of World Mixed Dental Competition Champion (DTG) and won first place in the Larsen-Chu Dental Technician Competition (Society of Color and Appearance in Dentistry). Ryan has studied with Dr. Ed McLaren, Hiroaki Okabe and Jungo Endo. Ryan is a Master Ceramist at Smile Designs by Rego in Santa Fe Springs, California.

Marianella Marin was born, raised, and resides in San Jose, Costa Rica. She has been practicing dentistry since 2003. In 2006, she joined the AACD and two years later, started her Postgraduate Training in Cosmetic Dentistry at UCLA, finishing in 2010. She works full-time in a private dental facility practicing cosmetic dentistry. She is a former professional swimmer and was a member of the Costa Rica National Swimming Team for more than 15 years. Nowadays, she practices yoga and karate, loves to cook in her free time and enjoys traveling with her husband, Danilo.

Dr Saiesha Mistry obtained her BDS from Bombay University, India. She received her MSc in Conservative Dentistry from Eastman Dental Hospital, University College London in 1994. In 2003, she completed the International Program in Advanced Aesthetics at New York University and was bestowed a Diploma. She is an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. She maintains a full time practice in Mumbai and lectures extensively in India and overseas. She has published many articles including a chapter on Smile Design in the book ‘Aesthetics in Dentistry’ published by Quintessence International. Dr. Mistry also provides online lectures for gIDE.

Carmen Nicholas was born in Bucharest, Romania where she received her degree in Dental Technology. She moved to the US, and in 2000 acquired her Masters in Dental Technology at NYU. Carmen worked in several labs and private practices in Manhattan and Long Island. She then moved to Denver where employed in a commercial lab, she increased her knowledge in all ceramics and custom shades. Taking numerous courses from internationallyacclaimed dentists and technicians, she desires to improve her skills even further. With her husband, she owns New Age Dental Studio in Denver, CO, a boutique lab specialized in functional and esthetic dental work.

Dr. Predmore graduated from SUNY Buffalo School of Dentistry in 1982 followed by a general practice residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 1983. He then moved to Lebanon, New Hampshire where he practiced general dentistry in a group practice. In 1997, he opened his own practice in Hanover, NH which focuses on adult restorative dentistry and occlusal therapy. The teachings of Dr. Peter Dawson and Dr. Bill Strupp have been a major influence on his dental practice. In addition to his love for dentistry, Dr. Predmore enjoys climbing, skiing and biking.

Dr. Nick Seddon was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. Before his academic career, Nick had a short stint with the Vancouver Whitecaps professional soccer club. This was followed by nine years at UBC in kinesiology and then dentistry. Nick is passionate about continuing education with Accreditation at the Kois Center, American Board of Oral Implantology, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Becoming an Accredited Member of the AACD has been a lifelong goal of Dr. Seddon’s as he hopes to pass his experience on to others through lecturing and teaching. Nick lives with his fiancée, Elly. They love to travel and truly live the work hard, play hard mentality.

Rob Strain has been passionate about cosmetic dentistry since the 1980’s. His third California practice, Studio Dentistry in Rancho Mirage, California, is focused on cosmetics, implant restorations and reconstruction. Although his patients are mostly seniors, it was his Case Type IV on a 10 year-old that was selected to be published in the Spring 2014 Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry. Rob shares an interest in landscape photography with his wife, Barbara. Together, and often with other AACD members, they travel to wilderness locations to capture light and form.

Dr. Allan Thomas studied dentistry at Oregon Health Sciences University followed by two years of residency at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Thomas is the recipient of numerous awards including the prestigious Crown Council Qualified Membership award. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association, Salt Lake District Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Crown Council and Pacific Aesthetic Continuum. Dr. Thomas loves biking, running, skiing, and has done a fair amount of Jeeping. When not helping his patients, he loves to spend time with his wife Pat and their four children.

Dr. Priya Tirumalasetty is a 1997 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. After completing a General Practice Residency, she settled in Chicago and opened her practice, the Setty Dental Group. Dr. Tirumalasetty became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry in 2005 and is currently working to achieve Mastership status. Outside of the office, Dr. Tirumalasetty enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, running, and traveling.

Dr. Matthew D. Webb attended Brigham Young and University of the Pacific and after served in the U.S. Army in Germany and Afghanistan. He then joined the family practice in Utah with his father and uncle where he began his Accreditation journey, started a local affiliate, and served on AACD’s Affiliate Committee. He has enjoyed humanitarian trips to Central America and volunteering in an inner-city community clinic. He and his wife enjoy skiing and mountain running and biking with their children. Dr. Matt spends his time practicing between a family practice in Utah and a cosmetic center in New Zealand.

Dr. Michael Weiss graduated from NYU College of Dentistry in 1984. He maintains a full-time practice in the Philadelphia suburb of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. Dr. Weiss is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has served on several committees, participated in two Give Back a Smile cases and the Smile Story. He is President Elect of the local chapter of the Academy of Osseointegration and Sponsor Chairman. Dr. Weiss has been a student of the Dawson Academy. He has authored and co- authored nationally and internationally. He enjoys motorcycle observed trials and served as Scoutmaster for 31 years.
