schematics diagramming

One of the key frameworks I utalized in the schematics phase is the Five-Space Typology structure. This was a good starting place to think about the relationships of the different types of spaces (workspace, meeting space, social space, resource & support, and rejuventation space.) On this page you can see my progression from loose bubble diagram to block diagram which then shows some circulation.

from workplace to culture space

At NEXT, health and wellness of employees is very important, and that includes mental health as well. This is why it was very important to design a space where people could come to rejuvenate, rest, and relax in an environent that supports that visually and ergonomically. Key aspects of this space are soft seating, comfortable adjustable lighting, organic shapes, and a custom ceiling element. This organic-formed wood ceiling brings down the space to a human scale while simulating a feeling of flow or floating.

Small Retail & Bar
The conept for the Warehouse is to take an exisiting vacant warehouse building in and arts distract of Seattle and tranfrom it into the dream busniess of the "client", who enjoys music and wine tasting. For the design, the industrial atsmosphere of the warehouse building is preserved while adding a modern touch. Dark tones, woods, and metals accented by neon signage gives this niche hangout spot a eclectic feel. The balcony space past the bar also functions as a stage for local musicians to come in and perform.

brand development The inspiration and concept development for Rewine Records comes directly from the city and culture of Seattle, Seattle Washington. I wanted to create a brand and space that echos the neon vibrancy that contrasts the often foggy and damp streets. The logo was created to suggest the shape of a record, and the combination of fronts represent the two intertwinments of wine and music culture. culture Another element I was insired by was local art and bold graphics.

custom elements
A custom display piece was designed in order to showcase every record. The design ensures that the album covers can be seen. Each album cover acts is essentail a piece of art, art and I wanted to highlight that aspect. These custom wood displace pieces are individual units that can be layed out to the owners needs. As well, there are cubbies underneath that can hold crates for shoppers to grab to hold their records. In this rendering, all record albumns are custom modeled. modeled Revit

Student Housing-Insecure Center
The Red Gym on the UW-Madison campus is an ideal location to renovate into a welcoming and supporting location for students experiencing housing insecurities. The name, The Castle, reflects the mission of this project: to fortify and protect the housing insecure student population. Biophilic design is incorporated to connect the space with the surrounding land and to create a peaceful environment for health and wellbeing using a nature inspired color palette, soft forms, and placing greenery and plants within the space. The open concept group study blended with the lobby will help make students feel comfortable entering so that they can be provided the resources to be successful in their education and lives.
