PROJECT BRIEF: It Involved A Full Scale Revitalization Of Popular And The Only Hillstation, Saputara In Gujarat. The Government Has Planned To Develop, Create And Market Tourism Related Infrastructure, Products And Projects In The Pipeline. Saputara Project Is Part Of The Ambitious Plan Of Gujarat Government To Attract Investments To The Tourism Sector. It First Created A Mission Statement That Is ‘To Develop A Worldwide Tourist Destination That Should Be Ecological Sustainable, Culturally Relevant, And Must Not Only Provide Leisure To A Wide Range Of Tourist But Also Respect The Fragile Sensitivity Of The Region’. The Development Plan For Saputara Provides For An Opportunity To Boost Up Scenic, Adventure And Hill Tourism At The Only Hill Station Of Gujarat And The Only Ecological Forest In India. The Major Concerns For The Development Proposals Are To Conserving Nature, Strengthening And Grow The Local And Regional Economy, Promoting Local Arts, Crafts And Culture, Preserving Local Art And History, Provide Leisure And Vacation For Tourist Of Different Budgets And Boost Economic Development. Addition Of Spaces Like Children’s Park, Amusement Park, Gardens, Local Transport System, Restaurants, Resorts, Floatels, Boating Decks, Viewing Tower, Suspension Bridges, Food Streets, Shopping Streets, Plaza’s, Cultural Spaces, Community Spaces, Retaining Green Patches.
USING SPAUTARA LAKE AS A CATALYST FOR RECONNECTION AND REVITALIZATION OF ADJACENT AREAS OF HILLSTATION
LAKE EDGE DEVELOPMENT Using Saputara Lake As A Link Between The Sorrounding Activities And Strcutures, Since The Lake Is The Main Attraction Of The Hillstation Town.
CONTOUR BASED PLANNING Considering The Topography Of The Hillstation, The Urban Design Takes Advantage Of The Extensive Viewability From High Points Towards The Scenic Lake And The Dense Forests Of VERTICAL LANDMARK PROPOSAL The Hillstation Town. Proposing A Vertical Tower Which Will Serve As A Viewing Tower For Public And Most Importantly As A Vertical Landmark And Hence Combining A Vertcal Landmark With Horizontal Landmark.
TOWN CENTRE VISUALIZATION A Rough View/Image Of The Town Centre After Revitalization Where Activities Such As Food Dtalls, Public Spaces, Restaurants,Taxi/Auto Stand, Parks And Recreation Are Briefly Placed To Make The Town Centre More Lively, More Energetic, Hence Also Bringing In The Concept Of “Eyes On The Street”. 1
