tires! urban intervention - 2010 authors: andre braz, ana rubia ferraz, larrisa silva the intervention consists of a temporary occupation of some parking spaces for cars in belo horizonte, turning them into living area and entertainment. the aim is to provoke a reflection on the current use of urban space increasingly dedicated to automobiles, in the form of avenues, bridges, parking lots, etc.. our proposed intervention was to turn a parking space into a playground made entirely of tires. first we had the idea of making interactive beanbags with games, dama chess, and panels (like puzzle), a seesaw tire, a trampoline and carts tire. despite being intended for children, we prefer not to paint the tires of different colors but with yellow paint, simulating tracks interdicted.

independent step
author: andre braz building a house in steps is a recurring request from people who want to build but do not have enough capital. in general, it is a good strategy to evade financing and also to accommodate new needs such as offices, guest room and tv room as well constant changes in the family, as the arrival of children. the first step should be understood as a core program self sufficient. it is important that this step does not seem unfinished construction, and the possible later constructions are not construed as an attachment because owners can take a long time to perform the complete work. moreover, the basic core and alternative expansion proposals must have some degree of openness that accommodates possible (and probable) changes in future demands of users.

gran open! building development project - 2013 authors: andre braz this project is about urban transfusion: it is a complete departure from the past urban renewal project in seoul. korean society has experienced great change over the course of the century. the sewoon complex project was built in 1967 in seoul. it was 1 km in length with a multiplex program and represents the political and economic ambitions of post-was south-korea. our proposal uses the environment and historical alleyway system of th site as a key design strategy. our design is not only preserves the original building but also revitalizes the old mega-structure, moreover connect the north and south with the natural environments through the building. moreover the development of a new building the grand open will connect the existing urban contexts settings and bring for the site every hour of crowd and memorable identity to the street life of downtown seoul without losing its characteristics, increasing their potential. advisor: professor thorsten schuetze
