INDUSTRIAL ANALYSIS WINERY LIGHT CATALINA HOUSING WORKS

IN INDUSTRIAL This urban project was a master planning initiative in Downtown LA. Linking buildings between another while respecting the existing conditions of the ground was a driving factor in the realization of the built forms.

AN ANALYSIS This multi-modal transit station targeted nightlife in Albuquerque. An analysis of graphical data that portrays DWI related incidents is illustrated in this project. The data helped to inform the design itself.

WI WINERY The winery in China included housing for a live-work scenario that enlivened the culture and cultivated the land. Having sustainable features helped the design to blend in more to the natural environment.

LI LIGHT Designing with light in mind and using it as a catalyst in an informed decision making process was a pure driven exercise in finalizing this design.

04

LIGHT VERSUS DARK

Using a grid system based off of the existing columns and infrastructure, a series of volumetric spaces began to form; inferring darker versus lighter areas of possible program and orientation. “LIGHT WALLS” begin to form and articulate perceived and real walls.

Utility proximities need to be closer together and offer more connectivity - no sense of connectivity

Bridging the gap would make the work community more of a communal space in which to experiment and have leisure

Analyzing the facades of the exisitng buidling can prove to create interstitial spaces for various interactive programs

Living areas need to be in tune with another and the surrounding work programs to promote interaction

Allowing the housing to be more incorporated and tied together could create a housing community

The result of the negative space allows for further investigation in incorporating landscape with the built environment - bringing it “in

HO HOUSING This micro-housing project was designed purely with sustainability. Angles of the building were formed by sun angles and heat is retained and released by being semi-submerged underground.
