WORKS
Hello! I’m Aashka, nice to meet you!
I am currently a second year student at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture. My work focuses on the atmospheric qualities of a built environment and the human experience. I’m interesting in exploring the conditions which can affect the atmosphere of a space and how it is experienced. I am always looking for new experiences and challenges. I look forward to furthering my education while contributing to your firm. Please enjoy the following selection of my works. Contact Me Tel.: +1 (647)-202-7319 Email: a245shah@uwaterloo.ca

To Whom It May Concern, RE: Letter of Recommendation for Aashka Shah It is my pleasure to recommend Aashka Shah for consideration of an architectural student placement with your organization. I have known Aashka since February 2022, when she first joined Voshell Architecture and Design, Inc. as an Architectural Student from Waterloo’s Architectural program. During her time with us, we found her to be an outstanding individual who excels in many areas. Aashka proved to be a reliable individual with strong character, providing valuable design and drafting support to our team at Voshell Architecture and Design. She can produce impressive results in the production of architectural renderings and drawings. She is incredibly detail-oriented, keeps up with timelines, takes direction well and asks questions when needed, along with being well organized and extremely motivated. I have seen excellent results on several projects, including our firm’s more complex projects. I am certain that Aashka’s diligence, perseverance, and optimism will enable her to succeed as an architectural student with any firm. I highly recommend that you consider her application and believe that she will be a great asset to your organization. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions via e-mail at todd.voshell@vosharch.ca or at the office (780-589-4747). Sincerely,
Todd Voshell, Architect, M.Arch, AAA, AIBC, AIA, MRAIC Principal

VENTURA
Competition Entry | Outdoor Marketplace Canopy In collaboration with Sabrina Lee and Renee Fang
Situated near the Distillery District and other notable spaces in Downtown Toronto, this canopy is designed to be an extension of the historic space and a place that offers flexible small businesses to bring new life into the community. As both a day and night market, more ed to the lower western, lower eastern, and higher southern facades to protect its users from rise glare and to limit summer sun. Accordingly, the more northern extrusions are also higher unlight throughout the year. Natural ventilation was also taken into consideration, with larger th-western and south-eastern facades and smaller openings to allow for cross-ventilation. To r establish its connection to the distillery district, a southern opening was established as well.

EASE 1B Design Studio | Library
Situated in busy streets of downtown Toronto, Ease is a library for the community to catch a ment of peace and become emersed in a labyrinth of stories. The floor to ceiling bookshelves allow glimpes into the many layers of the library with cutouts, which also function as seating. Along the north facade of the building is a community kitchen and vegetable garden to allow teractions between visitors. The cafe provides indoor semi private and outdoor seating, with views to the Joel Weeks Parks. The large windows on all facades allow the library to be filled with natural daylight, reducing the need for too much artificial light. Ease offers moments for vistors to appreciate the city surrounding them as well as the tranquil within the library itself.
