Thispieceisdedicatedtowardsmymother'splantcollection-towhichshe holdsdearly Outofallthebouquetssheowns,thisformofpotpourristood outtome.Thepigmentfromthepreservedpetals,leaves,andstems, allowedmetorealisethatthereisbeautyinall,especiallytheparched. Usingacrylicpaintforthisprojectallowedmetobuildlayersofpigmentto eachsectioninordertoachievearealistictoneoverall.

Icreatedthiswithinmyclassatcollege.ThiswasdrawnfromaA4imageof askullinblackandwhite.IenlargedmydrawingofitinsteadofdoingitA4 liketheoriginalimageandchosetocreatethisusingcharcoal.Thiswasmy firsttimearoundusingcharcoalinthiswayandIdidthistohelpgivemea reallyindepthunderstandingofthetonalvalueswithcharcoaland techniquesthatcanbeusedwithcharcoal.Ihaveincludedprogressphotos withthefinishedpiecephoto.

Forthispiecewewereaskedtomakeaminidioramainamatchbox.It remindedmealotofsmokeandfire,andkindofdirtinessandIquickly realisedIwantedtomakeakindofNoirinspiredcrimethrillerescidea.It tookmequiteawhiletomakethispiece,althoughitwaseasytothinkof theconcept,characterdesignandsetitwasmuchhardertoexecuteit It tookmeagoodonetotwoweekstofinalizemywork,anditkindof remindsmeofastageplayandoramirrorintoadifferentworldthatis similarifnotidenticaltooursbutmorestylized.

Thisisaselfportrait,basedonmyexperienceasanautisticpersonofbeing toldthatIdon’tlookautisticthroughoutmylife:astatementthatcompletely misunderstandswhatautismiswhilesimultaneouslyinvalidatingmy experiencesandexistence.Thisisdrawnonapieceofa3MDFusingpastels andpencils.

Letterpressworkshopdeconstructedstanza Brief:Deconstructastanzafromyourfavouritepoem,song,quote Don’tbeliteral,beabstractand experimentwithcompositionandink Parttwo:useinkcoloursofyourchoice.A3paper Inthebriefwesupposedtouseourbelovedstanzafrompoem,songofsquote.I’vechose,,micasa sucasa”frommoviePulpfictionanddeconstructitinabstractform Useddifferentlettersinshapes andsizesandplayedwiththecomposition Turninglettersupsidedownandsidewayswasbrilliant ideaandI’veseenitworks.I’vepostedandsubmittedthosesixprintsbecauseoftherepetitionand progress.Startwithaprintwithjustcolouranddevelopmenttotheendofthepicturewithmultiple layersofprintsandcolour,collagesThedevelopmentdesignisvisible Becauseoftheinkeveryprint isdifferent,ifI’veusedtonsofinktheprintswouldbemorevisible,althoughithinktheyaregreat becauseyouseetheprogressbehindthework.Visibletexturesbythewoodblockarestylishand givesitmoreoldlook.
