Corporate Social Responsibility Spotlight

Did you know our cartridge paper is sourced just down the road from our HQ in Kendal?

Winter Newsletter 2021 Dear Customer, Welcome to the second newsletter from Abacus Creative Resources, keeping you, our wonderful customers up to date with the latest from our creative journey! There has been lots of exciting things happening at Abacus HQ since our last newsletter… First and foremost our new branded signage! Thanks to the guys over at Optimum Signs, our head office has been brightened up and given a bit of a facelift and now stands proud next to our lovely neighbours. In the last newsletter, I mentioned our sustainably sourced cartridge paper from local supplier James Cropper. Well, some of the team were invited up to the famous papermill in Kendal for an insightful guided tour and they came away buzzing with excitement for future ideas. Take a look at the sustainability spotlight for more information. I just want to take this opportunity to thank you for joining us on our journey and remind you that we are always on hand to help. I look forward to sharing more with you in our next newsletter in 2022 but for now I will pass you over to the Marketing Team…

Who knew paper could be so fascinating…? Well, our visit to James Croppers of Kendal has certainly opened our eyes to the complexities behind sustainable and innovative paper manufacturing solutions and the whole process is actually really interesting. James Cropper - Redefining Paper since 1845, source wood pulp from responsibly managed forestry, certified to FSC & PEFC standards. Product Spotlight Here at Abacus Creative Resources we want to be the “one stop shop” for creative people and we are very excited to be showcasing the water-soluble colour pencils from Blue Acorn, which we recently gave out in orders as a free sample for our customers to try. Blue Acorn Aquarelle pencils are lovely rich, vibrant watersoluble coloured pencils with evenly-dispersed pigments and good colour permanency in a round cedar barrel. Manufactured with high concentration pigments and bleached kaolin, a white clay of the highest purity, is used along with other binders to achieve an unique stroke on paper or any other medium. The colours have excellent durability, blendability and lightfastness and are extremely soluble which means an aquarelle technique can be achieved with just few drops of water. The leads provide longevity and excellent value for money and the noble wood pencil casing ensures easy sharpening.
