ROCKER TECHNOLOGY

SCOTT ROCKER TECHNOLOGY In 2002, SCOTT developed the Santiago, a ski designed to perform in deep snow while maintaining edge control at high speeds. SCOTT designers achieved this by building a ski with a raised tip, moving the point where the ski comes in contact with the snow further back. Today, the ski industry calls this Rocker, a technology that has been part of the SCOTT ski line for over 10 years. SCOTT builds rockered skis with the goal of producing the best performing skis in the industry, products that improve the overall experience of any skier in any condition. The rocker technology found on SCOTT skis has undergone extensive testing and development to assure the perfect balance is achieved. SCOTT is proud to deliver three specific Rocker Technologies in the 2014 line: Pro-Tip Rocker, Venturi-Tip Rocker and Twin-Tip Rocker.

SCOTT 3DIMENSION SIDECUT This revolutionary sidecut design combines a tip and tail radius with either a central flat line or a small amount of sidecut under foot. The tip and tail radii allow for easy turn initiation while the flat line (freeski) or a larger radius (all conditions) provides stability, power and precise edge hold. THE SKI It All Starts in Sun Valley, ID Sun Valley, ID, the birthplace of SCOTT, is home to many iconic skiing figures and has always played a huge part in the development of the SCOTT brand. In 1958, using Sun Valley’s famed terrain and ski-focused community as inspiration, Ed Scott developed the first tapered aluminum ski pole and created the SCOTT brand. Sun Valley soon became a community built around the ski industry and has produced some of skiing’s most influential members. One Sun Valley local by the name of Bobbie Burns, otherwise known as the “Original Hot Dogger,” ripped the slopes of the Sun Valley resort, showing the skiing community a new style of skiing that caught the world’s attention. As Bobbie broke new ground and developed as one of skiing’s pioneers, he also started producing his own skis, with his flagship model known simply as “The Ski.” Burns’ “The Ski” soon became a staple in the early 70’s freestyle circuit and was frequently on top of the podium next to legends of the sport, like Spider Savage. Freestyle skiing started to emerge as a trend that was here to stay. “The Ski,” along with several SCOTT products, such as boots and poles, became the ultimate “hot dogger” set up and paved the way for many more ski innovations to come. The Sun Valley connection continues to influence SCOTT, and with the help of Bobbie Burns, has inspired the company to revive “The Ski” on a new revolutionary all conditions ski construction.

SCOTT skis that feature Pro-Tip Rocker simply track better than the competition and are available in five heights catering specifically to the skis intended use: Pro-Tip Rocker 300 / 320 / 350 / 375 and 450.

DUAL RADIUS WINTER 2013/2014

Traditional skis have a fixed radius that determines the length of every turn. Scott skis combine two radii (dual radius) to create the sidecut or “shape” of the ski. This Dual Radius creates a more versatile ski, which is not confined to one type of skiing or terrain. Having a bigger front radius provides great stability and forgiveness in every snow condition.

VENTURI TIP & TAIL

FREESTYLE FINISH

The Venturi Tip and Tail concept is found exclusively on SCOTT skis. The Venturi geometry decreases the running surface pressure, allowing the ski to track better with less effort, meaning the ski will be more forgiving without sacrificing performance.

SCOTT Freestyle Finish is especially designed for a more playful freestyle ski. The main difference from the factory finish is the bigger base edge angle of 1.6°. This larger angle makes the ski easier to spin and more forgiving on landings and rails.

VENTURI TAIL

REINFORED STEEL EDGE

Since the first generation of the legendary Pure, Venturi Tail technology has been a success. The Venturi Tail provides excellent stability and tracking in all conditions.

PRE-TRACK

SCOTT’s Pre-Track technology allows a variable effective edge depending on terrain. The unique shovel and tail geometry offers a smaller effective edge for short radius turns on groomed slopes and a longer effective edge when making bigger turns or skiing offpiste. The result is a more precise, stable and versatile ski.

3D CARBON FRAME

Using a 3D frame, this innovative carbon laminate ski construction found in our Xplor’Air, Crus’Air and Powd’Air skis, creates an exceptionally lightweight freeride mountaineering ski, while dramatically increasing torsional rigidity for steep terrain.

SKIN FIXATION SYSTEM The Scott Skin Fixation System provides an easy and fast skin attachment in all weather conditions.

SCOTT skis come direct from the factory ready to ski with Scott’s factory finish. Factory finish offers an effective edge angle of 88°, resulting from a 3° side and 1° base angle for an exceptional performance. The base is finished with a micro structured CNC stone grind so you can mount your skis and hit the hill, no tuning required.

For the most versatility, our Freeski boots have two QuickChange sole sets that are compatible with all 3 binding norms. The Alpine Sole Set is compatible with the ISO Alpine Norm. The optional Touring Sole Set is compatible with the ISO Touring Norm (UNI) and the Tech Norm. They have a Vibram® outsole specially formulated for cold-weather grip and durability and for torsional support during hard edging. These soles can be changed in a flash, snapping securely into place, and fixed with only three hex bolts per boot. No other manufacturer has such easily-interchangeable soles.

The Easy³ Magnesium Ski/Walk Mechanism has 3 forward lean positions that can be quickly and precisely adjusted with one hex bolt. Its asymmetric lever’s ergonomic design makes it easy to open and close with gloves. The high, supportive High Overlap provides a “handle” that can be spread for very easy entry.

Multi-injected Construction

Four Different Injections

Multi-injected Construction using Selected Technical Polymers (both PU and Pebax®) provide the most damp, solid, “alpine boot” feel. The multi-injected insert inside each shell allows us to isolate the most sensitive areas of the foot so that we can most accurately follow the foot’s anatomy, and accommodate the bunions and bone spurs so prevalent with skier’s feet. The insert is a stiffer “pod” that surrounds the foot to provide incredible lateral leverage without inhibiting the shell’s forward flex. Freeride cuffs are multi-injected with a very stiff frame for maximum lateral and rearward support, while the softer overlap wraps the leg more closely for instant response.

Fine-tune the lower shell for comfort and performance. The Voodoo and Minerva have a high, double-injected cuff that wraps closely around the leg for quick response with support from the super-stiff rear frame.

The gasket works together to seal out snow and keep your feet dry. Two separately injected, softer PU components work together in different planes to better conform to the shell’s opening and provide the best seal.

SCOTT unique PowerWrap overlap construction works better than an instep buckle to close securely around the foot and allows the ankle and bellows to flex freely. Its high overlap stays in close contact with the lower leg for the quickest response and leverage with no tongue-gap and subsequent lag time. SCOTT’s are the only NTN boots with a replaceable “second heel”, the under-foot interface with the NTN binding. It boasts our Ergo Bellows design for the smoothest, most ergonomic forward flex. SCOTT NTN boots are offered with the EZ Fit Rapid liner that is comfortable out of the box, as well as 100% thermoformable for those who choose a more customized fit.

Shock Damper Inserts

The Shock Damper Inserts are expanded PU inserts in the shell’s inner sole that act as a shock absorber when skiing, adding insulation, comfort, and increased ski feel.

High Overlap’s Flex Insert

The High Overlap’s Flex Insert is a separate injection that allows it to move with you for easy walking. This multi-injected flex insert is tuned specifically for different models’ intended use and performance. With no tongue that must be flexed backwards with each step, the lower shell and cuff can operate more independently for improved walking freedom and comfort..

SCOTT aluminum ski pole shafts are engineered with an exclusive “swage”, giving the pole a dual-taper design. Swaging is a process that utilizes a series of dies to reduce the outside diameter (creating the taper) and increase the wall thickness (adding strength). The taper results in an improved aerodynamic profile, lighter swing weight, and increased strength.

Carbon fiber, with its minimal weight and significant strength, is an ideal material for ski pole shafts. Carbon fiber reduces vibration and absorbs shock while improving feel and swing weight.

Constructed with the strongest commercially available, aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, S4 aluminum poles are twice as strong as the industry standard, rated to 75,000 PSI.

Carbon matrix ski poles maintain all the positive attributes of carbon fiber while integrating fiberglass to create a carbon matrix that is both lightweight and strong.

S3 aluminum shafts are computer engineered and manufactured with highgrade aluminum that is rated to 65,000 Psi.

S2 ALUMINUM

S2 aluminum shafts utilize the same technical swaging and design features found in the s4 and s3 series and are rated to 45,000 PSI.

Junior Adjustable Strap

The Lite Strap is lightweight and anatomic, providing minimal interference. The Lite Strap and EC-1 GRIP, was developed in coordination with our athletes to ensure function and comfort, while maintaining a sleek and elegant style.

The FX 15X32 straps are designed with a 32mm wide strap on the back of the hand for additional support and comfort. This female version is available in two colors: black and light grey.

The FX 15X25 straps are feature an increased strap width on the back of the hand for additional support. The injection-molded nylon buckle exceeds a tensile strength of 800 psi.

SCOTT’s Re-entry Strap System features fast and easy adjustment buckle system. The Re-entry strap is found in combination with the P-Core Grip on selected S3 poles.

The FX 24 strap is a parallel strap. It features an overmolded buckle and is slightly slimmer than the FX 15X25 strap.

The Comfort Strap incorporates a molded rubber platform for your hand, coupled with a woven nylon strap, ensuring a comfortable grip.

The length and shape of the JR Adjustable strap is engineered to fit children’s hands.

Carbon Diamond Tip is a compound containing equal parts of tungsten and carbon and is approximately three times stiffer than steel. This high performance tip enhances traction on ice and guarantees better durability.

The Anodized Tip Adapter is designed to strengthen the tip of composite poles and is manufactured from aluminum alloy and pairs with the ice tip.

Strike RC straps are ergonomically engineered right and left grips. They also feature a neoprene platform for increased hand support and a Velcro fastener for easy adjustment. Strike RC straps are found on the racing series poles.

The mechanical slider on the side of the goggle raises the lens off the frame, meaning the lens can easily be changed without having to touch the surface of the lens or take off your gloves.

step by step LENS REMOVAL

1. To start, hold the goggle on the outside of the frame and slide the SCOTT Lens Change Slider all the way up to eject the lens.

2. Next, to disengage the lens, grasp the outer rim of the lens and release the two hooks from the slider dock.

LENS INSTALLATION

3. Insert the single lens hook into the slot on the right hand side of the goggle. Then attach the opposite side of the lens to the 2 lens hooks located on the slider dock.

4. Without pinching the nose area, slide the lever of the SCOTT Lens Change Slider system all the way down making sure it clicks into the locked position and the red dot is fully covered.

Mountaineering version The Couloir has been designed to shine during all vertical endeavors, up or down. The helmet can easily be converted from ski mode to mountaineering by simply removing the ear pads and inner lining. The minimalist permanent pads provide ventilation and comfort. The chinstrap’s position ensures the helmet will securely fasten to the neck and minimize the helmet’s forward and backward movement, allowing for a snug fit. Side fixation points are designed to hold either a headlamp or goggles, and a small brim around the helmet keeps moisture out of the face.

THE SCOTT ACTIVE S-VENT SYSTEM

The adjustable Active S-Vent system channels air over and around the rider’s head removing stagnant air from the helmet. The vacuum effect created when the S-vents are open is even more easily adjustable thanks to an all new shell construction, allowing the rider to determine the right amount of airflow.

THE SCOTT G-VENT SYSTEM

The G-Vent system is SCOTT’s most advanced helmet venting system. Intake vents placed on the front of the helmet, just above the goggle, pull air through the goggle frame removing stagnant air that causes fogging. The result is a venting system that allows your goggle and helmet to breathe more efficiently.

VENT STOPPERS

There is an interior sleeve specifically for a hydration bladder. The drinking tube can be easily integrated within the shoulder strap. The integrated fixation of the strap allows the zipper to open the entire length of the strap.

The fast access pocket offers designated spaces for a probe, shovel, shovel handle and other vital gear. The outer positioning of the pocket allows for the emergency equipment to be accessed at a moment’s notice.

SCOTT’s unique, patent-pending Diacomp ski carry system offers a whole new level of performance and comfort. By internally connecting the top-webbing loop to the bottom cable system, the SCOTT development team has achieved optimal weight distribution across the back. Connecting the two fixation points through the pack allows the system to compress the skis to the back of the pack when they are tightened down, thus eliminating any unwanted movement and providing even weight distribution.

Skis can be placed in provided webbing loops and then simply secured with a strap at the top of the pack.

Easy Change Lens System

Gone are the days of fighting to change your lenses, SCOTT’s new Easy Change Lens System makes lens changing easy. Simply push the grey button located on the inside of the frame above the nose piece and gently remove the lens or lenses. WARRANTY INFORMATION FOR WINTERSPORT, MOTOSPORTS, BIKE (EXCLUDING BIKES THEMSELVES) AND RUNNING (ONLY FOR THE USA; FOR OTHER COUNTRIES, SPECIFIC NATIONAL REGULATIONS APPLY) SCOTT USA INC. LIMITED TWO YEAR WARRANTY What is Covered? This limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship in your Wintersport, Motosports, Bike (excluding bikes themselves) and/or Running SCOTT branded products sold by SCOTT USA or an authorized SCOTT USA dealer (“Product”). How Long Does Coverage Last? This limited warranty lasts for two years from the date of purchase of the Product and is limited to the first purchaser of the Product. Transfer of the Product from the first purchaser to another person terminates this limited warranty. Any warranties implied by law are limited in duration to two years from the date of purchase of the Product and are limited to the first purchaser of the Product. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the foregoing limitation may not apply to you. Repaired or replaced Products are covered for the remainder of the original warranty period and subject to the conditions outlined in the original warranty. What Will SCOTT USA Do? SCOTT USA will replace or repair any defective Product, or will refund your purchase price (as evidenced by your tendered receipt of purchase of the Product), at SCOTT USA’s option. You must pay charges in connection with replacement of any non-defective parts. In such a case, you will be alerted to the advisability of replacing non-defective parts, so you can pre-authorize the costs. What Does this Limited Warranty Not Cover? This limited warranty does not cover products used in rental operations. This limited warranty does not cover any defect caused by “wear and tear”, improper handling, abuse, misuse, an act of God, non-compliance with recommended maintenance and care procedures, improper or incorrectly performed maintenance or repairs performed by someone other than an authorized SCOTT USA dealer, and alteration of the Product. All Products come with a hangtag; please carefully follow the care instructions located there or affixed elsewhere to the Product. Consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this limited warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. To the extent permitted by law, this limited warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties; any and all other warranty is excluded. How Do You Make a Claim Under this Limited Warranty? To make a claim under this limited warranty, you must notify SCOTT USA of the claimed defect within the warranty period and timely return the Product to SCOTT USA at your expense for inspection. Please contact your authorized SCOTT USA dealer or call SCOTT USA’s customer service at 1-800-292-5874 during our normal business hours: 8AM-5PM Monday through Friday (MST) to make inquiries about this limited warranty and return procedures, and to obtain a return authorization number, which is required to process a return. All returned Product must be accompanied by proof of purchase (receipt) from an authorized SCOTT USA dealer or this limited warranty will not apply. In case of replacement or refund, returned Product becomes the property of SCOTT USA. How Do State Laws Affect Your Rights Under This Limited Warranty? This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state. Recommendation for skis SCOTT USA strongly recommends a yearly maintenance service effected by an authorized SCOTT USA dealer. While necessary maintenance or repairs on your Product can be performed by any company, we recommend that you use only authorized SCOTT USA dealers, as improper or incorrectly performed maintenance or repairs voids the two year limited warranty set forth above. Costs for maintenance service have to be borne by the consumer. The warranty is granted for skis and bindings separately, meaning the assembly is excluded from the two year limited warranty set forth above. SCOTT USA cannot guarantee that every binding fits all skis. Please refer to the user’s manual of the respective binding supplier.
