SCOTT entered the winter sports industry 60 years ago with the first-ever, tapered aluminum ski poles. In 1970 they added snow goggles to the collection solidifying their position in winter sports. SCOTT was to become one of the big players in the industry. Decade after decade, new product groups have been added to the collection. 1958 POLES 1970 THE SKI POLE RE VOLUTION It all started with one man’s vision of a better ski pole. Ed Scott’s invention of the first tapered aluminum ski pole immediately replaced the sport’s existing use of bamboo and steel, catapulting SCOTT Sports to a product leader in the skiing market.

Coming from the late 50’s with the first tapered aluminum, SCOTT Sports now offers a complete range utilizing the most advanced technology available. The SCOTT Riot 18 is a revolutionary ski pole, which this season, is available in the original graphic of one of the first SCOTT poles used by many athletes at the 1960 Winter Olympic Games in Squaw Valley, California.

1971 BOOTS In 1971 Scott designed and built the world’s lightest ski boot: The mission was to produce a boot that was lighter, stiffer, yet more comfortable than any boot on the market to date. It was a maximum R&D effort to create a ski boot that surpassed athletes’ expectations.

SKI CONSTRUCTIONS HIGHLIGHT To achieve the best performance possible, the core construction of a ski is pivotal. That’s why every SCOTT ski composition is carefully engineered and thoroughly tested in order to provide skiers with the most innovative and weight efficient skis.

DUAL RADIUS – Traditional skis have a fixed radius that determines the length of every turn. SCOTT skis combine two radii (dual radius) to create the sidecut or “shape” of the ski. This Dual Radius creates a more versatile ski, which is not confined to one type of skiing or terrain. Having a bigger front radius provides great stability and forgiveness in every snow condition.

PRE-TRACK – SCOTT’s Pre-Track technology allows a variable effective edge depending on terrain. The unique shovel and tail geometry offers a smaller effective edge for short radius turns on groomed slopes and a longer effective edge when making bigger turns or skiing off-piste. Lightweight and Stability The combinations of a lightweight Paulownia wood core and Carbon strings in a laminate construction make this design the perfect choice for a progressive skier. Performance and Lightweight This design combining the lightweight paulownia wood core as well as high strength Kevlar and Carbon fibers in an elliptical construction is the ideal high performance construction for demanding ski touring endeavors. Kevlar fibers are inherently very strong providing high impact resistance and enhanced stiffness, durability and absorb vibrations for great stability. The 45° carbon fibers increase the torsional stiffness for magnified edge control and precision.

FACTORY FINISH – SCOTT skis come direct from the factory ready to ski with SCOTT’s Factory Finish. Factory Finish offers an effective edge angle of 88°, resulting from a 3° side and 1° base angle for an exceptional performance. The base is finished with a micro structured CNC stone grind so you can mount your skis and hit the hill, no tuning required.

REINFORCED STEEL EDGE – SCOTT Freestyle skis use a durable oversized height steel edge. This Reinforced Steel Edge is far more resistant to breaking.

RENTAL TOP SHEET – The Rental Top Sheet minimizes the contact with the foil top by using little hole patterns to disperse potential scratches and abrasions. The result is increased durability, ideal for rental shop use.

The addition of a 105mm Punisher will create more diversity within the line and will be a great everydayski for the average consumer, I believe that the super wide 120mm and larger waisted ski is fading out of the consumer market because it’s too specific to deep backcountry powder conditions, and at that point it is usually too heavy for ski touring. Most consumers I talk with are in the market for a 110-115 all round powder ski that does it all, the quiver killer so to speak.

POWERLITE – POWERLITE boots are built from Grilamid®, making them stiffer, lighter, and thinner than other lightweight shells. The POWERLITE Frame uses reinforcing ribs throughout the shell and cuff to give maximum rigidity while maintaining their light weight. The new Powerlite shells of the S1 boots have the optimal synergy of superior performance and very light weight. POWERLITE CARBON POWERLITE CARBON boots have special carbon inlays purposely shaped to increase support and decrease shell deformation and lateral flex. Adding carbon fiber to the Grilamid ® shell increases the stiffness where you need it, while maintaining the boot’s comfort and super -light weight. Using over-injection technology, the carbon fiber inlays maximize power transmission and decrease shell deformation to get the best out of your skiing performance.

POWERFIT – POWERFIT shells were developed around the foot for a custom-boot-fitter fit right out of the box. Their molds are shaped to provide more room for the first metatarsal, room for the “sixth toe,” room for the navicular bone, asymmetric malleoli that match the body’s natural asymmetry, and a deep, supportive heel cup with space for common heel spurs. Toe width and height have been increased for an even more comfortable fit.

FULL-LENGTH VIBRAM® BI-DENSITY RUBBER – Full-length Vibram® bi-density rubber under the instep area provides maximum grip when scrambling over any terrain that isn’t snow. The Bi-density composition has firmer black rubber around the sole’s perimeter to provide durability and superior edging power in step-in bindings. Softer red rubber in the sole’s midsection gives maximum grip for scrambling.

SHOCK DAMPER INSERTS – Shock Damper Inserts are expanded PU foam inserts in the shell’s inner sole that act as a shock absorber when skiing, add insulation, comfort, and increased ski feel.

ALUMINUM TECHNOLOGY ELECTRO-STATIC PAINT PROCESS SCOTT aluminum ski poles undergo an electro-static paint process, delivering a clean, contemporary, highly durable finish. SWAGED SHAFTS SCOTT aluminum ski pole shafts are engineered with an exclusive “swage,” giving the pole a dual-taper design. Swaging is a process that utilizes a series of dies to reduce the outside diameter (creating the taper) and to increase wall thickness (adding strength). The taper results in an improved aerodynamic profile, lighter swing weight, and increased strength.

75% CARBON FIBER Carbon matrix ski poles maintain all the positive attributes of carbon fiber, as they are extremely lightweight and strong while they integrate glass fibers to enhance flexibility and durability. This pole - composed of 75% carbon fiber - is performance oriented and possesses the best balance between light weight, strength and durability. 50% CARBON FIBER Pro Taper poles integrate a carbon matrix design for a good balance between carbon fiber’s high strength and glass fiber’s flexibility and durability. Unlike the Zeo 13, the Pro Taper includes 50% glass fiber for higher flexibility while staying lightweight and good strength. 100% GLASS FIBER The filament wound glass fiber poles possess high strength and great flexibility for extreme durability. They will withstand any beating that a skier throws its way.

S4 ALUMINUM SCOTT aluminum ski poles undergo an electro-static paint process, delivering a clean, contemporary, highly durable finish. Constructed with the strongest commercially available, aircraft-grade aluminumzinc alloy that has been heat treated and aged in order to confer its excellent properties. S4 aluminum poles are twice as strong as the industry standard and possess a very high strength to weight ratio.

FILAMENT WOUND COMPOSITE POLES SCOTT composite poles undergo an automated filament winding process, whereby the shafts are machine-spun, producing an extremely consistent product. Filament winding allows high-fiber volumetric fraction and the use of continuous fibers, which leads to high strength and reliable poles. Glass fibers allow for a high amount of flexibility and durability, while carbon fibers, with their unique strength to weight ratio, lead to high strength, powerful and light poles.

S3 ALUMINUM S3 aluminum shafts are computer engineered and manufactured with high-grade aluminum. This magnesium aluminum alloy has been strain hardened to confer high strength and good resistance.

CARBON FIBER Carbon fiber, with its minimal weight and significant strength, processed using filament winding technique is an ideal material for ski pole shafts. Carbon fiber reduces vibration and absorbs shock while improving feel and providing the best swing weight.

S2 ALUMINUM S2 aluminum shafts utilize the same technical swaging and design features found in the s4 and s3 series. These poles show great quality-to-price ratio with a good resistance and strength.

CARBON MATRIX Carbon matrix ski poles, also processed using filament winding, maintain all the positive attributes of carbon fiber while integrating fiberglass to create a carbon matrix that possesses the high strength of carbon as well as a good flexibility and durability while keeping a light weight.

3.6 DISC BASKET The 3.6 Disc Basket blends aerodynamic efficiency, durability and design. The 3.6 disc basket is 60 mm in diameter.

INTERCHANGEABLE S 3.4 AND S 3.9 The interchangeable baskets are found in the MOUNTAIN poles line for all-year use. The summer features a 4cm and the winter a 9cm disk.

3.8 DISC BASKET The 3.8 Disc Basket is identical to the 3.6, but with 80mm in diameter for better performance in powder.

The outer shell of polycarbonate material is fused with the helmet’s impact absorbent foam liner, creating a lightweight outer shell. With reduced weight and bulk surrounding the head, in-mold helmets are more comfortable than traditional helmets.

The adjustable Active S-Vent System channels air over and around the skier’s head removing stagnant air from the helmet. The vacuum effect created when the S-vents are open, is even more easily adjustable thanks to a shell construction, allowing the rider to determine the right amount of airflow.

The G-Vent System is SCOTT’s most advanced helmet venting system. Intake vents placed on the front of the helmet, just above the goggle, pull air through the goggle frame removing stagnant air that causes fogging. The result is a venting system that allows your goggle and helmet to breathe more efficiently.

FRA ME VENTIL ATIONS 2. ALL-AROUND VENTILATION Frame Ventilation is optimized around the entire frame in order to channel air flow onto the lens, as opposed to the eyes. When enjoying a very bright sunny day, we face a strong light that contains a very intense blue light. Even if this light is half as harmful as UV rays, at high intensity, this blue light remains a danger for the eyes. In addition, due to this high intensity, the ambiant brightness makes it hard to focus on other colors and therefore reduces contrasts. WARRANTY INFORMATION FOR WINTERSPORT, MOTOSPORTS, BIKE (EXCLUDING BIKES THEMSELVES) AND RUNNING (ONLY FOR THE USA; FOR OTHER COUNTRIES, SPECIFIC NATIONAL REGULATIONS APPLY) SCOTT USA INC. LIMITED TWO YEAR WARRANTY What is Covered? This limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship in your Wintersport, Motosports, Bike (excluding bikes themselves) and/or Running SCOTT branded products sold by SCOTT USA or an authorized SCOTT USA dealer (“Product”). How Long Does Coverage Last? This limited warranty lasts for two years from the date of purchase of the Product and is limited to the first purchaser of the Product. Transfer of the Product from the first purchaser to another person terminates this limited warranty. Any warranties implied by law are limited in duration to two years from the date of purchase of the Product and are limited to the first purchaser of the Product. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the foregoing limitation may not apply to you. Repaired or replaced Products are covered for the remainder of the original warranty period and subject to the conditions outlined in the original warranty. What Will SCOTT USA Do? SCOTT USA will replace or repair any defective Product, or will refund your purchase price (as evidenced by your tendered receipt of purchase of the Product), at SCOTT USA’s option. You must pay charges in connection with replacement of any non-defective parts. In such a case, you will be alerted to the advisability of replacing non-defective parts, so you can pre-authorize the costs. What Does this Limited Warranty Not Cover? This limited warranty does not cover products used in rental operations. This limited warranty does not cover any defect caused by “wear and tear”, improper handling, abuse, misuse, an act of God, noncompliance with recommended maintenance and care procedures, improper or incorrectly performed maintenance or repairs performed by someone other than an authorized SCOTT USA dealer, and alteration of the Product. All Products come with a hangtag; please carefully follow the care instructions located there or affixed elsewhere to the Product. Consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this limited warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. To the extent permitted by law, this limited warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties; any and all other warranty is excluded. How Do You Make a Claim Under this Limited Warranty? To make a claim under this limited warranty, you must notify SCOTT USA of the claimed defect within the warranty period and timely return the Product to SCOTT USA at your expense for inspection. Please contact your authorized SCOTT USA dealer or call SCOTT USA’s customer service at 1-800-292-5874 during our normal business hours: 8AM-5PM Monday through Friday (MST) to make inquiries about this limited warranty and return procedures, and to obtain a return authorization number, which is required to process a return. All returned Product must be accompanied by proof of purchase (receipt) from an authorized SCOTT USA dealer or this limited warranty will not apply. In case of replacement or refund, returned Product becomes the property of SCOTT USA. How Do State Laws Affect Your Rights Under This Limited Warranty? This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
