Our brand name 5.11 originates from Yosemite Valley USA. The brand is named after the climbing grade 5.11, which equals a very difficult level of climbing. Our 5.11 Tactical Pant was originally designed as a climbing pant and turned out to be the number one tactical pant for years in a row. It paved the way for us to create its successors: the Taclite pant, TDU pant, Taclite Jean Cut, Covert pant, the Stryke pant and the new Traverse pants.
