Has worked at national magazines such as Tatler, Glamour, Look and Shortlist in planning writing, proofing, researching and subbing content for print and online.

Has experience of organising and photographing her own street-style fashion feature, being editor of a magazine, developing feature concepts for online, reporting from film premieres, writing front page stories, organising props for fashion shoots, taking press photographs, transcribing interviews, developing ideas for online and print features, running a weekly newspaper.

Has planned, written and designed a pilot issue of a new magazine with business plan, marketing and PR strategy, and media pack.

Has a strong portfolio of by-lines and contributor credits.

On course to earn a 1st Class Journalism Degree from Southampton University.

Has produced a magazine which has been chosen for entry into the PTC new magazine concept competition

EXPERIENCE Since May 2008 I have completed a number of internships at some of the UK’s leading publishers and magazines, working in an editorial and photographic capacity as well as project managing a new magazine and faculty newsletter. I spent a gap year before university working at two local newspapers and committing to work experience at national magazines. I have worked hard to secure placements at a number of different publishers, in order to ensure I have a variety of skills that apply to a journalistic, marketing and PR role.

Editor, Revive Magazine

Revive is a new monthly health and beauty magazine aimed at ambitious career women who want to pursue a healthier lifestyle. It promotes a sense of wellbeing by encouraging the reader to make simple lifestyle changes resulting in a healthier mind and body. This formed part of my third year employment and professional practice unit at Southampton University. Responsibilities included:

Managing a team of 20 writers to create a 64page magazine in two weeks Holding a features development workshop Writing and designing a five page spread Organising samples for a product testing page Writing a reader profile, rationale and style guide [1]
