You have clearly evidenced a critical understanding of a broad range of appropriate contextual references informed by selfdirected research and examples of your own areas of creative interest.

Your work demonstrates an excellent understanding of the complex relations between theory and practice. The integration of theoretical content and your own practical concerns is of a consistently high level and as a result your design solutions are underpinned by consistently relevant contextual and theoretical awareness.

You evidence very good evaluative and analytical skills. You have evaluated a range of ideas informed by both primary and secondary research from a range of sources. The analysis and evaluation of your source material, opinions and responses to set tasks is of a significant level and demonstrates very good critical awareness.

You have undertaken a very good amount of critical research, in both practical and theoretical forms, and a clear methodological approach has informed the work that you have produced in this module. Your opinions, design decisions and resolutions have been informed by an active approach to research that have resulted in a focused development of individual responses to set tasks.

Your communication skills are very good and evidenced in both visual and written work, and your project evidences very good levels of self direction and organization.

You have documented your practical and theoretical research journey very clearly during this Module and tested out a range of processes, following ideas through from early sketches, to a critically informed, intelligent and well-executed piece of work. The strength of this is the exploration and testing and determination to resolve your creative concerns. These concerns are addresses in the OUIL505 Module and you reflect in your evaluation, that these themes can be further developed through Level 6, which seems an excellent plan, as you have managed to address these issues with a criticality which goes beyond initial description, to generate much more interesting work.

The essay is good overall. It evidences a reasonable amount of academic research for the level and has the beginnings of an interesting argument. You also include a satisfactory level of analysis of those sources, particularly Goffman and Finkelstein. The essay could have been more effectively structured, particularly in regard to the introduction and conclusion and you should pay more attention to linking the theory that you have cited explicitly to your readings of illustration / visual culture.
